This was a fairly rediculous experience
This was a fairly rediculous experience with Google Fi We bought a phone with a 200 off promotion for porting in a number The old service were being awful about it making it really hard to get a transfer pin This happened because the old account was in my father in law s name and he passed away so had my mother in law on the phone for about forty minutes transferring her between departments It was so bad she gave up So we ended up canceling the transfer with Google and setting up a new number Turns out they won t honor the promotion and I will have to pay full price for the phone Currently that s about 200 more than what the phone costs elsewhere It would have been nice if the customer service rep we spoke to had warned us about it but sadly no There is nothing they will do to help you out I m updating this review as we go Google support chat will do nothing to help you and make you feel like there is nothing that can be done I went to Twitter Google Fi support who have since escalated it to management that is a lot better so I m going to have to come back and let you know Final update changed from 1 stars to 3 Here s the outcome They granted the exemption I d asked for This happened because I went to Twitter to ask for support and they escalated to management This was after two Google Fi support members told me there was nothing they could do Turns out there is something they could do but they were either unwilling to do it or they didn t know I m happy here but you should know that if you go with Google Fi to avoid the support team and go to Twitter if you want real help
