I havent recieved my phone yet

I havent recieved my phone yet But the ordering experience was painful and took way to long Advertised google promotions they would not honor because apparently google fi and google store are different platforms Its like a bait and switch scam If one has nothing to do with the other Then why have them linked and redirecting between one another advertising deals discounts and promotions Very confusing and makes the ordering process difficult and time consuming No help from support on this matter either One excuse after another Its the same google Hope this is no indication of the future And if i hadnt already paid for my purchase and been stuck with it by the time i checked out and found out i got screwed I would not be here Time will tell

Review is updated at the bottom My experience is similar to everyone else s I love my Fiber internet service so did not do due diligence before signing up with Fi Fi messed up porting in a number that I clearly identified on my account as being for a 2nd line on the 2nd phone I got from Fi Suddenly my own phone number that I ve had for years changed to the new ported in number The 2nd phone did not activate properly either Simple fix to switch numbers right Nope CS advised me to transfer my number to Google Voice first which meant I leave Fi service Then CS put me on hold and eventually said they couldn t fix it WHAT They said they emailed the support specialist who would get back to me in 24-48 hours I have not heard back from a specialist No one else can help me I only had a wifi to use through Voice No cell service Multiple calls chats over the next 2 days and only got the same regurgitated line about waiting on an email support specialist Then my Google Voice number stopped working for making or receiving calls It has been SIX days now Who cares if I don t have a working phone number My sim card was deactivated and I cannot reactivate it I finally pulled my sim card out and transferred to a cheap MVNO so I could have cell service I cannot do anything to recover my old cell number Absolutely the worst experience ever so far Oh and did I mention I was supposed to get discounts on both phones with a trade-in and for staying on service for 120 days Well that s impossible now due to THEIR error and THEIR advice CS reassured me that it will all be taken care of once my specialist handles it Funny how NO ONE has responded in days and NO ONE else can help me I am livid I m returning the 2nd phone so that I don t get charged full price for it update changing my scathing review to more optimistic a specialist had responded to an email 4 days later It was in a reply to an email chain so I did not see it despite combjng through my emails regularly I happened to see it when I ws looking for something else Since then they have been emailing with me consistently but it is taking too long for a simple issue to be resolved compared to every other carrier The support specialist has been friendly and helpful I might get an exception approved to keep the promotional discount on my phone

When unlimited isn t unlimited

TLDR The customer service is horrid cell service is ok for the first 22GB then its useless I have had a very bad experience with my prior carrier Sprint TMoblie so I decided to switch My troubles with Google Fi started before I even got my phone They sold me a phone they didn t have so I got baited into Fi for almost a month I had to extend my current plan with my carrier on a barely working phone No matter how many times I called they didn t know anything about my phone It randomly showed up before Christmas the sim was damaged got a replacement One week after getting it working I get throttled to lower than dial-up What s the deal The Unlimited Data plan is limited to 22GB of data Ok is this like TMoblie where there is a 7 USD upcharge for unlimited data no they want 10USD a GB for anything after 22GB So the 5G plan is useless you can honestly eat through this in a little over 3 days if you want I don t suggest ever going with a company that hides behind fake unlimited data plans the reality is this is a rated plan not unlimited At this point I m buying out my phone and moving back to the horror that is the TMobile Sprint hell I had too endure It s only been 1 week on the Google Fi service it s really that bad If you ever have account problems its honestly better to discontinue your google service and reapply for it as well I had to go through hell to get my phone and get it working The only redeeming quality I can say about Google Fi is that the services is nice when it works and when its in its unlimited state All in all Google Fi is a nice idea but has been poorly excited pass at all cost

I expected that being backed by a technology company like Google that the Google FI wireless phone plans would be a no-brainer and backed by great customer service I couldn t have been more incorrect as I received the worst service I believe I ve received from any organization in recent memory 10 years or more I had multiple service issues and spent about 2 1 2 hours trying to resolve them and I also was out of service on my wireless device for seven days while technicians were trying to troubleshoot the problem I ended up having to switch back to my previous mobile provider which provided outstanding service and I never should ve left What really irritated me is after spending probably about three hours of my time and then porting my number back to my previous wireless provider they never provided any type of credit for the days I was without service which I found completely unbelievable Furthermore my account has been closed for over two months and there is a credit balance on the account Due to the prorated charges Given I canceled we re not automatically applied to my credit card and after two billing cycles I am still waiting on that prorated credit I feel violated by what I thought would be one of the best wireless providers in the industry and I couldn t be more disgusted with Google They don t allow their employees to be empowered and the technical divisions of the company who do troubleshooting seem to lack basic knowledge that s needed to do their jobs and they basically will just tell you that they are sorry they cannot help you I guess I should be satisfied as that s the honest truth it would have been wonderful if I had read reviews prior to signing up

Paying 95 bucks for 4 lines ain t bad Unlimited data although we usually don t use more than 18 gigs a month between us The service is atrocious I looked it up before I purchased the service on their coverage map and it said it was OK It s crap Called up customer service and they played it off like one of my nearby towers isn t working right and they were going to send a report to have it worked on Yea right My phone can have 4 bars of 5g and have zero service Quarter of the time I just have an E emergency only where my service symbol is at the top of the phone Going to wait untill the end of my billing cycle and try another carrier

Got google fi for its coverage

Got google fi for its coverage first you cannot activate it anywhere but the US Then if you travel for work for longer than 90 days even if its separate countries they will cut your access without warning and you cannot transfer your phone number

Predatory Billing Practices

Google Fi has a promotion where you get Pixel 7a for free by 24-month bill credit We have 4 lines for our family with the Simply Unlimited plan The plan price is 80 for four lines plus applicable taxes and fees We ordered the phones on July 6th and activated them between July 12th and 20th Our understanding was that we were to pay 80 plus taxes and fees every month However we had to pay 152 73 in July and 97 43 in August totaling more than 250 in two months compared to the expected amount of 160 for two months When the July bill came in we immediately requested help and customer service we would get the money back the next month Next month s August bill came and no credit for the previous month Now they are saying that since we didn t activate the phones in July we won t get credit for the phones meaning we have to pay for the phones in July this is completely false as we activated all phones in July We had to talk to 4 5 different customer service agents to understand what was going on unfortunately every one of them gave different answers I believe that this company s billing is intentionally made complicated so that normal people like us don t understand and just pay whatever they tell us to pay
