Hard selling scammers Do not let them in your house

Sent two people out one to surveyor the problem the second to do invasive inspection I refused to pay full amount to fist surveyor as this was free but agreed deposit for the invasive for which the second one never did but just repeated what the first one said then the company requested the rest of the payment for work that the second surveyor was supposed to do but never carried out

It is with careful consideration that I m leaving this review I engaged with this company with assurance that the work would be of a high standard and carried out correctly when the poor workmanship was raised to the undermentioned company they responded with and I quote the director will contact you within 5 days this was a broken promise Electrics were extended and I was advised that no electrical certificate was required but under the NICIEC this should have received a safety certificate for minor works I am thoroughly concerned that the works were not carried out to the schedule I have had an independent body to take a look at the works and they advised it was not worth the 4000 00 that was paid Trading standards have been informed I m a lady living on my own and feel that my trust has been taken for granted I have also requested a percentage of the money back but to no-avail they haven t responded with any compensation or damages and I have had to engage with another company who were delightful and have corrected the work Don t use

After a full survey to solve the damp issues in my home I agreed the quote and paid a deposit for the works While on site I was asking about the treatment of some visibly damp areas and the installer said it wasn t on the survey and they would have to charge extra The cost seemed disproportionate to the rest of the work which raised a red flag I asked to pause the work to try and understand if any thing else had been missed off the survey and what the cost implications were I eventually spoke to Dominic Hickman Director who dodged my questions but finally admitted that despite a full survey - he nor anyone else at his company knew which walls needed treating and would have to resurvey He also said they had TRIPLED the cost for the extra works as it s at his company s discretion to do so He was confused why I would be angry that the quote I was given was completely misleading and that he had TRIPLED the cost of the same treatment but in a different area of house He refused to come to the property or speak on the phone to try and understand the situation but just said he feels he had been met with resistance because I wouldn t just pay the ludicrous inflated cost NEVER work with this company I have reported them to trading standards as they are completely unethical USE ANYONE BUT THIS COMPANY ABSOLUTELY APPALLING

This company does not deserve the one star I telephoned them to enquire about a damp proofing quote and was given an appointment which was not only not met by them but they did not call to to advise me for the reason for it I was left to chase them and was given some vague answers for the appointment not proceeding and during this call I was promised a call back from the person that I spoke to initially I am still waiting for this call and can only assume that they are just time-wasting messers with nothing more to do with their time than to mislead people into thinking that they actually offer a service

After many telephone and emails an appointment was agreed I rang the Friday before to ensure all was well and it was confirmed that a workman will be with me on Tuesday Monday Bank Holiday I left work early made arrangements with the tenant to be in and we sat and waited No one came or rang I rang the office to find out what was happening only to be told the job was not booked

Avoid company Bob came to assess our walls for query damp in one singular wall Bob then proceeded to inform us that there was damp in a large majority of walls in the house and quoted us 4000 which obviously took us by suprise Following the quote he was extremely pushy for us to book a date in and stated it needed to be done ASAP Now considering this was the first quote we decided to get another couple considering the fact we didn t expect the problem to be as bad as it was We have now had three other quotes from other companies who all stated there is minimal damp in one wall and will cost very minimal to get fixed average over the 3 quotes has been 1000 We have been honest with all these other company s and explained what this company had told us and they all double checked and said there was no damp in any of the other walls Bob reminded me of a pushy salesman that wanted a quick easy job and thought he could take us for a ride Do your research before using this company

I asked Home Building to provide a quote for a small area of damp This was nearly twice the quote I finally accepted The very persuasive representative also tried to sell me extended damp proofing Secomur for the rest of the house I have since been advised that this is not needed

These guys didn t even get through the door When making the appointment they asked whether all homeowners would be present They called back asking the same question I interpreted this as them suggesting that as a female i would not be in a position to make decision I queried this and they were rude and hung up No thanks

Organised a house visit The day before the appointment they rang to confirm They said they would ring back later in the day to confirm the time I rang back the day of the visit and they had decided to cancel it without telling us Completely wasted my time and the time booked off work to accommodate them
