Too keen to make easy money from you rather than give you the best solution for you

The company in the first instance is very professional and the contractors they use for all the work are very proficient which is all positive There s some real negatives for me this time around The initial surveyor was more of a salesman - fair enough we d already had a survey done so he was going off previous evidence but he really needed to be more thorough - there were a few things he didn t spot that could have led to a different quote He then didn t inform the contractors correctly of the job to be done so they spent the first 30 mins going round and giving that look that says oh um how do we do this right That just all made me feel like it was going to be guess work and cutting corners the whole time Th contractors soon discovered that one new fan we d been quoted for didn t even need to be there - All they did was untwist a pipe and got the current fan working - which they said was more powerful than the one they were supposed to be putting in They also told me that the recommendation of fitting a humidistat in the kitchen isn t want they would do - they would fit an extractor fan instead - which felt like too big a decision for me to make in the moment so that felt quite uncomfortable for me They then fit the kitchen fan to power on with a light switch - which the guy in the office told me was becoming building regs standard which I really struggle to accept - it s loud and no one wants that noise in their open plan kitchen every time they switch a light on So we got them back to change that which to be fair they were pleased to do As headlines I would say They are selling loud fans that are labelled as silent - that s just misleading the customer There s quite a bit of distance between what you re told by the surveyor and what the contractors actually think they should do The quote they give you is basically a sales brochure of the things you could get rather than a detailed explanation and breakdown of costs I would also have expected much more invasive electric cabling for the amount I was paying So the job has been done and is all ok but I think it s a company you need to be really strong with in terms of what you actually want if you just let them go for it then they will but corners and make it a really easy job to get their moneys worth

Make sure contractors carry out all the work as specified by original Surveyor

The Tanking was done well but there was a lack of communication between the workers and clients leading to a few misunderstandings We were left with skirtings not replaced and an ongoing electrical problem however prompt attendance by regional manager Franco resulted in all the outstanding work being completed to our satisfaction

Work done didn t solve my cold damp and mouldy walls

The boys who came very young mind you seemed to do a good job as they were instructed however I started the process through an enquiry about damp in my home to which they sent out a cocky surveyor at the cost of 400 which was to be refunded once the work was done Originally they tried to get me to pay a sum of 13K for extra work which luckily I with drew only doing a 7000 job instead however the surveyor on inspection said what was needed to improve my heating bills to make my home warm and damp free well guess what it isn t and my front of my house which is the victorian part is still the same cold walls and mould appearing through in the winter When I called to complain I was told that it was me who rang up and said I had damp so why ask me to pay for a surveyor isn t what they are paid to do to know what the issue is a total rip off and then they had the cheek to ask if I wanted some one to come out to look at condensation issues STay clear of them

Only average as the main workman lacked decorating skills in use of a roller and dealing with edges and splashes The initial surveyor failed to recommend the employment of a scaffolding firm at the outset so time was lost in good weather waiting for scaffolding to be erected Correspondence with the central office has been good and some problems were dealt with promptly

I would have loved to have marked

I would have loved to have marked higher but it wasn t possible - My appointment was cancelled at very short notice- A planned extractor fan installation was aborted due to inaccurate surveying - My neighbour complained to me about their garden furniture not being moved back into place after work completed- I was chased for payment of invoice not even a full day after work completed On the plus side the installers were friendly and helpful and the office team responded promptly to my queries

Let down by administrative staff

No problem with the workmen but admin seemed to be bit poor Took 3 days to contact us in the first place Then a further 2 days to confirm an item that had been omitted from the quote We paid the balance on the Friday the work was completed We received on the following Monday a request for payment I had not opened this email On the following day we received a demand for the payment I rang the company up and they did confirm with apologies that payment had ben received We have however not received any instructions for the electrical items fitted

Good customer services - minor delays in completing the job

We used this company for an issue of rising damp in our property The surveyor carried out a detailed review of the property and recommended a number of actions to limit any further damage Builders were skillfull and hard working however we experienced a few delays in completing the job fully This is understandable given heavy workload Customer service were very helpful in rescheduling all the necessary works and in chasing up
