To receive your compensation you need to speak Spanish

The price was ok but they make it look like a very cheap airline in terms of service The air hostess were always in a hurry To give just 2 examples There where offering meat or pasta options during the service and a client ask if the meat was chiken or beef and they just answer moody I dont know such a simple question Other client asked if they have coconut water as a drink option and literally laught answering of course not It looks like people hates their jobs there Flight IB6406

They could improve the service

I recently traveled from Marseille to Mexico City with a stopover in Madrid The flights went well but my suitcase went to Cordoba instead of Madrid and it took them a couple of days to find it and bring it to my hotel The lost-luggage service at the airport in Mexico City was excellent and IBERIA really made an effort to find my suitcase and get it back to me but then I discovered that someone had gone though it The luggage band had disappeared and nothing inside was how I had packed it There was nothing missing but this is probably only due to the fact that I never travel with items of value in my hold luggage The whole experience was extremely annoying I expected to hear from them about a compensation and was told to check the incident website where I would find information about steps to take The problem was that my suitcase remained to be delivered for weeks and nothing happened which means that the compensation procedure couldn t even start I sent them another message through this same website and was told that this was where I would find the relevant information and I would just have to wait After five weeks I tried to contact IBERIA France by calling a special overpriced number and was kicked out of the line after minutes of messages and waiting I called the number again This time I selected Spanish speaking service agent and got through to a human I explained my situation The lady promised that things would be taken care of The next day I received an email asking for all kinds of documents and details which I provided Another three weeks later I finally received the information that there was going to be a compensation but I needed to send my account information which I did even though I had already provided the information before This didn t work at first and I wonder if it was a final attempt to discourage me The problem was that the system didn t like the spelling I finally figured it out and few days later the compensation appeared in my bank account It amounted to a few euros less than I had paid for my return ticket This made up for the big headache and dissatisfaction I had experienced for a number of weeks The important message here is that without my persistance and knowledge of the Spanish language I would have gotten nowhere If you don t speak Spanish ask for help It may be worth it IBERIA clearly doesn t want to deal with other languages and it makes a lot of sense when you think about it It s a great way to save money and lose customers but you don t have to deal with them yourself There are a number of services online that will do it for you

Not the best experience but not the

They could improve the service no food in a 5 hour flights seriously

Reseated without consent otherwise OK

Not the best experience but not the worse either The food was bad and the flight was delayed but at least the plane was clean something that RyanAir for example can t say
P

delays could have been handled better

A decent experience overall boarding was efficient the plane was quite modern service worked food and drinks were OK Not much to complain except one thing - I was reseated almost 20 rows to the back - far away from my fianc e - due to the fact that someone had asked to be seated closer to the front This happened before I even got to the plane I got it - the person had a kid and they were apparently separated hence the ask I even might have agreed to this if asked But let s face it first you need to have a consent of a passenger to do stuff like this What if I had paid for this specific seat That would ve been outrageous Or how about asking them to move back and bring that one passenger to front so they can secure two seats next to each other and I could keep my seat that d been a fair trade-off

Terrible Customer Service

The operational part of the airline is fine but the customer service is terrible Andrea Juan Agudelo just to cite the last 2 I had the misfortune of dealing with I had a very simple question which seemed easy to answer but they both just had no idea and where unhelpful Iberia if you want to make up for their extremely poor service don t hesitate to reach out to me you know who I am I m an Iberia plus customer who has used your airline 20 times over the last 6 months

Great customer care after missed connection but improvements needed

After missing a connecting flight due to bad weather Iberia arranged for me a Hotel overnight stay in Madrid including meals transfer By the time I stepped out of the delayed airplane everything had already been arranged for me That was excellent customer care The company needs to do more to move to a global perspective Your employees - both on the airplane and at the airport - should not fear speaking English and should not look annoyed when you don t understand Spanish And disruptions at the Madrid airport need to be addressed better and more efficiently - Iberia customer service there when needed the most was definitely insufficient

not so bad

Looking at the opinions I can think nothing more than to start with the virtues Iberia has for me To travel to Latin America from Europe it is one of the best and in direct connection from Spain with the USA spectacular Removing the pandemic which has been devastating for everyone of course Outside of what Barajas is the attention it is poor compared to others And their website works in a disastrous way Their telephone service in Spanish you have to be very skilled to handle it Advice for complaints directly write your claim on the Iberia page in English and attach the receipts and wait Be clear and brief and it is solved better than talking

Prompt flight refund from Iberia

I was amazed how quickly I got through to Iberia on the phone to claim a refund for my son s cancelled return flights from Brazil to Spain due to Covid 19 Two weeks later the money was back in my account with no hassle I had been sceptical when I wasnt given a reference number for my query claim but so glad Iberia followed through Much appreciated at a time when life is stressful enough
