Poor service

In general my experience it is hard work you have to committed time effort It is boring but you will see result after long time It won t work short periods MATH subject is very good I give two rating the main reason I had good over one year experience in Woodley location because it was bit far I did transfer to Lower Earley location in Reading I cannot bear the poor service anymore I decided to cancel it and transfer to Woodley location again I pay 130 per month minimum 12 months but they don t provide any service We have to check home work daily that is OK But the problem poor service and poor communication One day my boy 6 year old was not good mood in class so he didn t do good work however when I picked him up the franchisee blame he was not good in class in front bof him other kids and parents I felt so embarrassed Also she accused me picking up kid late without any specific previous date and time told me it was not baby sitting How dear the way to tell me that I pay so much fee monthly there no no service for example one day my kid forgot bring water bottle he was very thirsty I ask just water they ask me to pay water if kids forget bring pencil you have to pay I cannot bear any more such bad experience in lower Earley location I decided transfer Woodley Dipali is much easier way to communicate

Kumon Battersea very

Found Kumon Battersea to be very repetitive and boring within weeks of the free trial child totally lost interest in maths as the tutor kept giving the same repeating worksheets despite feedback that they were too easy The tutor was also rude when I wanted to stop

Only Useful for lower levels

Only gives questions with little teaching and no explaining When you ask why something is something or why something is not something they don t explain they just simply tell you to do it They expect you to do questions based of nothing but another completed question They use words that they do not explain and you are meant to complete all the questions by a strict deadline Leaves students little time during weekdays to do other things and can often cause the parents and the students to be very stressed Only good for the lower levels

Customer service leaves much to be desired

The instructions since we move online hasn t been the best I m also sent work sheets on WhatsApp and asked to print them or have the child write the questions out While I agree it is good to write out questions it is a lot to pay to not have proper face to face instruction or good online provision and not even the physical worksheets Parents are also asked to correct record the work so are we only paying for worksheets Kumon is a wonderful math program and I ve seen better customer service and results from being at other centres - Wood Green Good if it was standardised

So Kumon is first of useless foe kids

So Kumon is first of useless foe kids who start in the middle They make the kids start from scratch For example if some one is in yr4 they will assess and deliberately start at yr2 math So it is going backward for some There explanation is that they want to consolidate but I also think it is business tactic to keep going for months They believe in slogging and going on and on This is useful if ur child is really lagging behind But useless if u have been spending time without child and aware if their calibre but just looking for some material to support daily work The staff is extremely rude and dont listen to parents concern but are like flash robots who just follow graphs and not understand what parents are trying to say about child learning need I was very unhappy and wasted 200 pounds So be careful

2 of my children do Maths Kumon

2 of my children do Maths Kumon Positives their maths has greatly improved My son is working to 1 year the curriculum in year 5 and my daughter about 6 months ahead Negatives- the arguments in getting them to do this regularly are draining However we persevere We don t ever do 7 days a week and I find this hugely unrealistic for most families with after school clubs other homework social engagements etc I think expectation of 4-5 days is better I think there should however 100 be a serious sibling discount discount over holidays when lessons aren t run face to face and also big discount if you sign up for both Maths and English I feel the fee structures of being so rigid and refusing to offer these discounts and take into account the holidays and fact no in person session will be run so why are we still forced to pay full price is what puts a lot of people off staying with Kumon joining Kumon and also adding in the other subject Please look into your fees and offering these reductions in price

We like daily homework lazy parents do not

I can not put how many stars to this review as yet as our five year old child will be joining soon I have been reading through the negative reviews about the amount of daily homework this sounds completely plausible to me Our child was previously at a private school due to us moving home we couldn t get him into a school of our choice this September As you know the education gap is huge between private and main stream sector So we are used to the push of compleating daily homework of which our child has quite missed The complaints about repetitive work repetitive is quite normal this used to happen in private school and it sets foundations rather than skipping quickly weekly through subjects topics in the hope the information stays in no it doesn t work like that I wish kumon also taught languages as our child was learning Spanish Russian French so we have to look elsewhere for language tutors But none the less I am quite greatfull for the comments good bad as it has given me an insight of what to expect Oh also we know another child that is doing extremely well through kumon who s parents are very happy with their little ones progress

I felt quite old to go to Kumon as a

I felt quite old to go to Kumon as a teenager but I think it has proven to be more useful friendly and at-the-right-level compared to what the secondary school curriculum has ever taught me

Beneficial

I have used Kumon Pontyclun Wales for the past 5 years My son continues to attend and my eldest is now a helper within the Centre Kumon has allowed them to advance within Maths where children are challenged The learning environment is supportive and children get used to having homework at a young age

Good

My child has been using Kumon for about two years and she has progressed massiviely and is now 8 and is doing things for 13-14 year olds I am so impressed Only thing is I would absolutely love it if they could give a little more explanation but overall fantastic
