Overcharging

I like the store and choice of products but I am increasingly getting put off by discovering overcharging on the odd product after the event I have the app so the receipts are electronic and you can t easily stand by the till and check everything as they work on speed It s usually only 25p here and 50p there but no wonder their profits are sky high if this is the norm For those amounts it s also why I can t be bothered to wait and try and get it dealt with by the super busy cashiers It doesn t generally happen elsewhere so why are Lidl so bad

They re closing my local Lidl why

My local Lidl on Drayton Road Norwich is a small but busy shop Heard they re closing permanently in 5 weeks time and do not understand why It s in the middle of a huge catchment area so lots of people use it on a daily basis and rely on it being there especially the elderly They re building a new one in Sprowston but that s too far away so I ll be switching to Aldi Your loss my gain

Lidl Coupon Plus scheme is disappointing

The latest Lidl Coupon Plus scheme is nowhere near as good as the previous scheme even Waitrose offer better discount incentives For example under Lidl s old scheme if I spent 200 during a month I would receive 20 off my next shop regardless of spend Now if I spend 200 during a month I receive 10 off my next shop So even if I spend 100 on that next shop I only save 10 Very disappointing

I ve been shopping at Lidl ever since they opened in my area put recently I ve noticed the quality of the products have gone down hill so went to Tesco and brought their own brand meat pies at the same price as Lidl and the quality much better Since lock down Lidl has gone down hill rabidly

Relatively low prices

Relatively low prices although they let theirselves down on certain products The service is ok but the overall feel of the store is quite miserable Will continue to use them due to price vs Sainsbury s my only other local competitor

I tried lidl s donuts I d just like to say they are disgusting will not be trying them again Maybe they don t trial them they just buy cheap and sell on Not for me Although the Apple turnover is very nice

Lidl was one of the cheapest shop when it was started in the UK But we found everything increased Now teso Saintsbury are better chose they compare price match with aldi not lidyl Why Because of course dilyl is not cheap Lidyl has more branches yet expensive Tesco Saintsbury clube cars options are absolutely good option Their generous coupons are great Morrison lidyl their coupon rubish They offer something your not t interested in Tesco Saintsbury give proper coupon so you can treat yoiself Germans are robbing here now good specially after brexit Shop everywhere so you can accept my comment

The good and the bad

I love Lidl overall however especially the Holloway Road one in London is consistently falling below standard Three times my coupons couldn t be used due to connection issues And it was a substantial discount not applied The other two times the expensive steak was gone rancid on the day of purchase Customer service was completely useless All these issues happened only in that one shop so still 3 stars

A fantastic brand new store at the Gemini Warrington Cheshire Clean spacious and plentiful choice Would love to purchase more items but as a disabled person on a mobility scooter the shop would attract more customers if they invested in smaller type shopping basket The pull along not suitable Was offered support for doing my shopping but I want a independent shopping experience Hideously dangerous to cross the road to get to the shop traffic driving at a speed which makes a safe cross over to the other side of the road hazardous I know that this is not the shop at fault but maybe could apply for a safe crossing

Update to below Engaged with Lidl and my Digital Receipt and fine was cleared Beware parking at Lidl Cheltenham Swindon Rd if you overstay your welcome they send Parkingeye after you for a 90 parking fee Ouch
