I have now given up ever getting my 1000 deposit back from Lux motorhomes Thankfully the deposit was paid using my credit card Therefore I have had this reimbursed by my credit card company who are now making a claim against Lux Motorhomes In the meantime I have also submitted a claim within companies house for the directors to be investigated Our whole holiday from start to finish was a complete nightmare There were numerous issues with the van which made it a horrible experience When we were driving one of the securing nuts which fix the bed to the railing sheared recoiled off the table and hit my 3-year old in the face 5 days into our holiday the motorhome broke down which meant we were stranded on the North Coast of Scotland for 2 days with limited food water and gas Thankfully a hire car was sent to us so that we could drive home To Lux Motorhomes credit they did reimburse me the full approx 2 500 for the van due to the breakdown and also for the campsites we missed out on This money appeared in my bank account approx 2 weeks after the transaction However their behaviour with regards to my 1000 deposit has been disgraceful The only communication I have received is 2x phone calls from Donald and 2x emails explaining that the reason for the situation was due to their credit card company holding onto a number of deposits I attempted to call Lauren countless times but no response These people are not fit to operate a company ever again Hopefully my claim submitted to companies house helps with this

We hired a motorhome from Lux this summer to travel Scotland with our 2 kids The company were great to deal with we even popped into their garage in the months before to show the kids what we d be getting and were allowed into one of the motorhomes to look around Pickup process was seamless Unfortunately another driver took the wing mirror off our motorhome on our first day of hire They were denying responsibility despite it being their fault and short of witnesses cam footage etc it was a 350 expense for us which was annoying but it was explained prior to taking the motorhome that we d essentially be liable for any damage When we reported the damage though the guys at Lux were amazing We advised what site we were staying at how long we d be there and they send someone up from Lux to change the wing mirror for us Wasn t a 5 minute drive up the road either Drop off was great too no bother at all Didn t get the feeling they were looking for issues to charge us for which isn t always the case Family run business as I understand it and you can tell Also nice not to be driving around Scotland with a load of branding on the side of the vehicle too like many others The 5 days wasn t cheap to hire but they are well maintained excellent motorhomes I got this hire as a gift for my 40th and would probably take a special occasion to do it again but when you factor in what it would cost to buy one of these - the hire price is probably fair If we were looking to hire again we would 100 without hesitation go back to Lux

It s the fourth time we have hired a motorhome from Lux Motorhomes We rented the Pilote 740 for a business trip down south this time Having a motorhome base for our work was fabulous We had a consistent environment to work and stay at the end of each day which was way better than using Hotels The Pilote 740 is a little longer than I am used to driving initially making me a little nervous However that was wasted emotion because this Motorhome is easy to drive with its power steering powerful engine and excellent manoeuvrability Inside well it s simply gorgeous A fixed Bed meant no faffing around before bed and generous living space made cooking and relaxing easy and enjoyable Last but not least we have to commend Lux for their service As always we were made to feel welcome with a lovely tour of the Motorhome and its facilities before leaving We did have a wee flap about how to switch everything on me and my bad memory but a quick visit to Lux help videos on the website solved this very quickly We recommend Lux unreservedly Beautiful well-maintained motorhomes and an incredible team of people who really cared about making our experience enjoyable and stress-free Thank you Lux we ll be back soon

We hired a motorhome for the first time from Lux Motorhomes totally out of our comfort zone as we normally do hotels so we thought lets do it from the start of the booking at picking it up Lauren and Donald were top class made everything so easy the collection was perfect Donald and Lauren shown us everything we needed to know and more top couple we had it for 2 weeks incorporating NC500 and more and what a fantastic time we had thanks again guys
