Shockingly hopeless in every respect Cant even manage simple finance processes The other reviews say it all Absolutely disgraceful conduct generally and virtually non-existent customer service My advice is Just dont There are much better banks around Macquarie is about as bad as it gets I could go on but if you read all of the other reviews the quality of Macquarie will become evident Mostly they ring true with my experience - except the one scammer clearly got paid to give 5 stars hilarious really

Extremely frustrating experiencce with macquarie banking
I m extremely disappointed with the service at Macquarie Bank My account access was locked and despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue I ve been repeatedly transferred between teams with no resolution in sight I ve been told multiple times that someone would call me back but nothing has been done It s frustrating to be left in the dark about why my access was restricted in the first place and it seems like no one cares enough to address the problem This has been a highly frustrating experience and I hope others don t have to go through the same ordeal

awful
froze my accounts whilst i am overseas 2x expensive international calls later to their customer support team resulted in promises they never actioned number now doesn t even work multiple weeks now with no access to funds at this point it basically looks like macquarie is a scam wish i didn t have a mortgage with them

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service as an existing customer I ve applied for a new service and never got a response You call to follow up on what happened and then they copy and paste a response that does not answer the query like AI robot chatbot They do not seem to treat you as a customer but just as a number Disappointing luckily we have many options out there for banking time to move on

The app is useless and after two weeks after my term deposit finished I STILL HAVE NO MONEY Macquarie Bank The term deposit account disappeared as soon as the money was gone this feels deceitful I don t want to speak to a manager in 48hours I want my money transferred NOW

Terrible service changed my mobile number to a random number They make you use there terrible authenticator that can only be connect via SMS Just let us use a number 2FA app

Abysmal customer service
Abysmal customer service no ability to access own funds they treat customers so poorly if you can actually get on to a real person good luck with that Constant lockouts on own account so accessing your own money becomes impossible with no one to call to resolve it They take advantage stay away

Atrocious Service I lodged a complaint with AFCA
Atrocious Cannot get accounts to connect to accounting software Have been told to open other accounts which entailed a visit to the chemist for them to countersign a copy of my passport remember I already had accounts Four hours on phone and chat line and I m told to fill in a paper form authorising a 3rd Party to access my accounts i e Accountants or Power of Attorney This is meant to be our 5th biggest bank and fully digital Absolutely useless Addendum Finally got the new accounts operating but Macquarie kept sending emails asking for unspecified further information When I called them I was on hold for an hour was put through to three different people and finally told Macquarie only communicates with Xero I opened an acc with Westpac the next day went to connect the Westpac acc to the accounting software and there s the Macquarie feed Morons

I attempted to open a Macquarie
I attempted to open a Macquarie transaction account after seeing a glowing review and what a nightmare it s been I managed to set up the account but then couldn t log in When I called customer service they told me my account was rejected and they didn t want me as a customer Then just a few days later I received a debit card This is absolutely ridiculous I ve never seen a bank that outright rejects account applications like this It feels like a massive waste of my time and energy especially for a bank that doesn t even have branches This whole experience is a complete disgrace

How not to do banking
I opened a new account in my name I transfered money into it Then i made a small transfer to another account in my name at another bank This was blocked by Macquarie I then rang their support to get it released I was told that they understood and the account was unblocked I then made a larger transfer using most of the funds It was to exactly the same account from the very same account at Macquarie that i had used first time It was also virtually the same transaction that the first lady seemed to understand It was also blocked again I rang again and spoke to another support lady She said it was a possible scam I explained the basics If i transfer money from one of my accounts to another it is definitly not a scam A scam has to involve a third party Its like me taking money out of one pocket and placing it in another pocket of mine Anyway despite me ecplaining everything to the first woman and the second transaction being between the same two accounts the second lady assured me the account was now unblocked I immediately tried to finish the transaction but guess what- it was blocked I have since lodged complaints and was again told that it was a possible scam I explained again that the whole process only involved me transferring money from my account to another account i own I am amazed at the terrible service I was simply testing the bank with two very simple transactions both from one account of mine to another I am an accountant a tutor at university in finance strategic management research computing risk management and other subjects So far no one at Macquarie would even pass first year
