Worst storage provider ever

I used to love MEGA I take pictures and videos of every little thing as a way of preserving memories my own and those of others I d been doing so since 2010-2012 and hadn t found a reliable way of storing said media files My laptops storage space was never big enough and using OneDrive or Google Drive would affect my ability to receive and send emails So when I learned about MEGA I was excited I thought it d be the solution to all my problems However I was a teenager back then with no spare income So I split my media files between several different email accounts most of which I created just for this purpose and therefore quickly forgot about Now MEGA has deleted all my photos and videos because my accounts were inactive Of course they were I still only have a laptop and I still can t use OneDrive or Google Drive for my media files Those are my 2 main email service providers The whole point of storage services in my opinion is that you may not access them for a long time but that doesn t mean you come to value what s in them any less If OneDrive and Google Drive can maintain any files of mine without deleting them and they re not intended to be long-term storage services that s the bare minimum MEGA should be aspiring to I d be more at peace with my forgetfulness if they d tried contacting me using my phone number or recovery emails but they didn t even bother to do that when I had 5 MEGA accounts under the exact same first and last name which are unique My mother will be heartbroken MEGA is useless It s frustrating but either invest in hard drives or computers with lots of memory if you re like me

MEGA is one of the worst or probably THE WORST downloading website in the world

MEGA is not that good for me I used to really like MEGA and I downloaded a few things from there However I realized that there are so many things better than MEGA and I should have used them instead of this website MEGA downloads things in such a long duration and even worse you have to use a browser to download it with limited speed MEGA also does not work on download managers and it is really disappointing I am just going to add one star for letting me save my download even after closing the tab or shutting down my computer Another bad thing about MEGA is that the free MEGA requires you to wait 5 hours or so before continuing your download and it is really bad because it is such a waste of time and no other website does that All of the websites download the files via browser and then I can download that file on a download manager However MEGA just makes it worse because it is very slow and there is nothing you could do to speed it up I dislike using MEGA and I prefer everything else instead

Normally a good service

Normally a good service nice privacy quite easy to use But it is infuriating easy to get lockouted of you data if you accidently unlock one of their bonus storage achievements by using their phone app Didn t notice I had extra storage And somehow I imported some file folders to my drive twice So I did not notice that I had gone over the normal free account limit Half a year goes by and the bonus storage expires And suddenly I m locked out of the account Can t even delete the duplicate files unless I purchase a membership Neither can I download the files for when they finally choose to delete my data for me Luckily I haven t stored anything important on the locked out account but I can imagine people feeling forced to buy themself out to get their data

Mega Bad

Keep in mind i only have the free

Keep in mind i only have the free service MEGA has a use but you HAVE to pay for it I ve tried only transferring one item and 80 of the way through the transfer my transfer quota had already been reached and then i started getting prompts to upgrade my status if i wanted to finish Probably would have been better if before the transfer started if MEGA could say This file cant be transferred because it exceeds your limit then maybe i would be less frustrated The limit seems to be small as the file i was trying to transfer was only around 2 gb Since then i have switched to google drive and it serves my purposes just fine Someone may have a use for it but its not a service i m willing to pay for

MEGAsync is trash and a let down avoid it at any cost

The website is good and they offer you a 50 GB cloud storage and all the reason I m giving additional star Their Megasync program is literally the most stupidest software I used so far it stops downloading with no reason at all not exceeding download limit thing and my net is fine and not to mention that it start mining with my hardware once it detects my computer is idle for some period I can hear the fans throttling from the other room when I come to check to find that software is using 100 of my computer resources and comes back to its normal state after few seconds immediately uninstalled it after it finished downloading my files

Charged me after I closed out account

Still got billed after I closed out account because I don t use service no longer contacted them earlier but told to log into the app on google play that I downloaded and cancel recouring billing how can I do that when my email is no longer associated with the account

I don t recommend

This storage is mostly using for illegal purposes there are tons of films and games the MEGA works well but you can download just 5 GB every 6 hours and upload just 10 GB Google drive is much better

I can t access the mega website on my computer

I can t access the mega website There are videos on youtube to show you how that I just cant get my head around I like to be able to access it Non of my browsers will work on it They told me how but for some reason I still can t access it Very sad not to be able to access my files Hi this is an update I have been able to finally access my files on my phone but not on the computer I will have to take it to someone as I am just not geeky enough to follow all of the advice I got from you guys You see every other website I use just works I am still not sure why your website needs special treatment

It s excellent when it works but it s hardly work Most of the time it will stuck at some certain and wont download for a very long time When it s working it will be very fast i can download at the rate of 50mb sec absolute monster but well it will stuck at some point always Nothing beat Gdrive and Mediafire atm
