Expected tools for how to lead

Expected tools for how to lead but got videos of speakers that had special circumstances handed to them and they simply rose to the occasion after copying their dads or people who came before them Then there was the team that we re supposed to meet with over some short-term goal but I don t need a team for that and a leader should not need a team to do things for them or guide them they are supposed to demonstrate that they can do it on their own and earn respect insodoing So I didn t get out of the program what I should I suppose but I haven t done the Advanced or Executive levels yet It just seems like something to make you think you are doing something but you really aren t There seems to be a lot of emphasis on how you feel and not enough on tangible steps you can take You do learn about SMART goals and how to set them though which is a necessary skill You learn to identify what makes a purpose statement in achieving those goals so that you will work towards them but anyone that makes goals should already have that in mind It just seemed like a vocabulary lesson as opposed to something that could be put to practical use And writing your own resilience story - what if you have never overcome adversity before I suppose we ve all killed a bug or taken our driver s test but to have to do essays about it just seems so much like a way to get out of teaching anything except that a person already possesses something they don t think they have - and that s not always even true A person has to know what adversity is in order to know they were resilient They have to know what true leadership is about before they can emulate it These things are not being taught There s some value in picking a person s brain about how they view themselves and the world but if you don t give an expectation or model for comparison it s hard for someone to gauge if they re achieving what they should And yes we all achieve things at different rates in our own ways But someone that s a leader finds ways to achieve at fast rates and is able to disseminate those methods to the team Without the knowledge on how to achieve things faster we re still just floundering like fish in a dry lake The tools need to be more refined and practical not abstract

It took over 6 months to receive

It took over 6 months to receive diploma because the online system didn t transfer information to the college advisor And then it took a while for the advisor to sort things out and then when it was apparently sorted and things were supposed to be sent it wasn t and took another couple of months The program may be more beneficial if there was actually meet ups and such but during Covid I didn t feel like I benefitted from it The interviews are fun But the advisor for my college and this program didn t seem to make it too much of a priority It s a nice of paper in an expensive frame to look at on the wall but the university I m continuing to doesn t know what it is and I ve yet to see the benefits from it besides some basic motivation That s just my personal experience

Costs the member to join and there are requirements to complete prior to actually being a memeber

Easy process to join aside from having to pay for the membership I wouldn t have thought being nominated and accepted into an honor society would cost ME money I ve never heard of having to pay to join an honor society And then after you pay to join you then have to do a whole set of tasks and requirements which again I ve never heard of having to do to join something I was nominated for and invited to join I did all the requirements and paid my dues however because it is a prestigious thing to have on a resume Aside from all of that I hope to find the services helpful and the networking a valuable asset I haven t had any issues or concerns and it was fairly simple to complete the requirements
