I just started my second week of class

I just started my second week of class and have already had 4 different advisors This was confusing and unnecessary I pirchasedba book for this class and now the instructor says we dont need it Someone could have said that sooner before I spent the money Also I sent a financial needs analysis form to my advisor Samantha and asked her to forward it to the proper department because I did not know who to send it to The next week I got a call from erica who was my previous advisor who said she wanted to make sure everything was going well I told her about the email I sent to Samantha and erica said she took care of it because they work in the same office A month later I called financial aid and spoke with Kirsten who said they never received the document I had to resend it to her and she took care of it for me My advisors did not do their jobs Very disappointed

Student

The engagement at the beginning to enroll was the best and that s why I decided to join and start my learning After that it has been down hill so long to have someone respond and online learning not easy

The content of the classroom materials is good

The content of the classroom material is good The professor I have right now his temperament is very rude and unbecoming instructing me to drop out of the class explicitly saying I do not have what it takes to be in his 400 level cognitive psychology class that s just one of the email correspondences I have had with him I have had a rude Professor a few months ago as well but not to this level of my current professor Also some professors will not be explicit enough for students to understand the specific instructions Instructions are pretty vegue Over all content is good

Still new

The experience has been great In the beginning you get email and talk to actual people However as you keep moving that seems to end So far their online classes are what they are supposed to be but they don t need others that have no reason to take them

Pretty Expensive Budget Education

Over the course of the year and a half I have been attending NU 100 online the classes have been bare bones and often have little involvement from professors outside small text documents For a fairly expensive program the content it offers is very little The advisement has been a bit of a mess and even now I m not entirely sure who my academic advisor is It seems to have changed hands or if I write in it s not uncommon to see a new name respond they all seem to share a generic email This becomes a bit problematic as I m also not entirely sure how to read the mess of a document that s supposed to show my pathway to graduation All in all I m too deep to change schools and I d rather just finish than go through the process of switching Not the best experience

My Experience

When I first registered for classes and during my first couple of classes it was an amazing experience I loved my professors Dr Johnson and Dr Bazan-Shipp they were awesome However there were a few professors that made my experience drop It was hard to believe that professors had no idea what was on the Brightspace app and were given different information making us work on things we shouldn t Then finding out that the Praxis exam is a NU requirement and not all universities I personally think that extra stress added to what we already had is unnecessary Sorry that s how I feel

Terrible finish

I feel like when I started the program and I had so much help from advisors but towards the end zero accountability from advisors Nor do they care about graduation ceremonies It gave the feeling of yes start school here but we no longer care about when you re finishing or finished your program

If you re looking for easy

If you re looking for easy online learning this is it If you re looking for an in-depth learning experience that will leave you fully prepared to confidently enter your career field you ll need to do a lot of learning on your own Also hybrid learning means only one in-person class a month
