Fast paced and quick

The school is fast paced and the work load seems to be a lot in some classes but its work that you have to spread out at your own pace The professors are very open to hear you questions and concerns during the course The school offers different services such as online tutors to help you with your essay s ideas sources and class related problems I ve been in for a year and have gotten 12 classes done so far The classes go by quick and there are classes I really enjoyed when it came to doing essays

Mostly positive

I have had a mostly positive experience Only one particular teacher who graded harshly on discussion replies because they were not spread out over 3 days I attend National because I work and parent full time and can only do homework discussions and study during particular hours This teacher would grade discussions at 60-70 because the replies weren t spread out

Most of my professors have been great

My professors have been great for the most part although some do not get back to students quickly enough I have had a bad experience getting assistance through NU in regard to the Praxis requirement for Ed School Counseling PPC credential Other universities do not have the Praxis exam requirement therefore I was expecting NU to be more supportive in helping students pass this exam by providing resources or workshops for students However that has not been the case

Practical Affordable Manageable but no guidance or support

This university is Great I love the concept of having online courses and still being able to maintain my full-time job The professors are very knowledgeable and courses and information is easy to navigate The only downfall is the financial aid and the lack of attention from administration and advisers I felt like I navigated my entire course of studies alone

Current student

I have been attending NU for the past six months The staff is friendly and helpful I have enjoyed my professors but find it hard that they do not follow the same class structure If the curriculum expectations followed a designated outline each class would be easier to follow Highly recommend the monthly semesters but be prepared to work hard as this program style is accelerated

I have truly enjoyed learning through

I have truly enjoyed learning through NU The classes format and structure are incredibly doable with a working schedule The only issues I experienced are understanding what departments needs to be contacted in the enrollment process until getting settled with your academic advisor This journey seems really messy and has too many working parts It got pretty confusing Once I landed with my advisor everything has been great highly recommended

Quick Program Great Professors Difficult Enrollment Process

I finished my BA with National and am 9 months into my Masters program in School Counseling Getting enrolled can be a complicated process It was like this for myself and both my step-sons You don t ever get just 1 person assigned to you Every time you call you get a new person and that can get a little frustrating There is also not a Dean or someone you can talk to if you are having issues There is also a high turn-around of employees and I think things get lost in the mix On the flip side 95 of the professors are super awesome I LOVE the fast paced schedule of National It can be expensive but I was able to get in on a special If you work full time and need to get your degree quickly I do suggest National I am overall very happy with National There are just some kinks that I think need to be worked out on the administrative side
Q

I want to believe and I think I will

Its becoming clear that National University is concerned for its Alumni and wants to develop a family atmosphere with all of it students and former students I did not realize this before it was not part of my initial experience
A

My experience

Most of my professors were amazing I had incredible support as a student My work load wasn t overwhelming and I enjoyed my classes
R

The professors were excellent

The professors were excellent It felt like they really cared about me and my progress I wasn t just a number in the class The student teaching professors were exceptionally amazing Trying to get questions answered by my credential program or any other department was a headache It took multiple emails and weeks of go around before I would get an answer from people It was very very frustrating and one of the biggest reasons I hesitate to recommend this school
