No deposit refunded

Rented 3 weeks ago was all good They picked vehicle up and said deposit would be with me soon I have not received my deposit back after 3 weeks and they have not responded to my questions

Made an online booking took payment in advance including deposit but where unable to fulfil order as vehicle wasn t available Had to chase myself and hastily use a competitor who didn t let us down

The van was perfect getting my deposit back wasn t

I needed to rent an auto van and nvr had the perfect package We were called on the day to say it was on the way and when it came it was brand new It was picked up promptly and ticked off with no issues A perfect experience Until 4 days later I was informed the deposit would be returned in 7-10 days and don t contact them for 28 days I did contact them after the 10 day window and was assured that accounts would sort it After 28 days I demanded my deposit was returned and it was credited the next day I would have given them 5 if they hadn t hung on to my deposit for over a month

Let down by not returning deposit

The actual van delivery the van pick up was fine and couldn t fault unfortunately a month latter I am still waiting for my 500 deposit back and have had to ask my bank to intervene on my behalf Therefore cannot recommend

Phone answering was really bad

Phone answering was really bad When van arrived it was over an hour late The brake pad warning light was on The adblu warning light was on The windscreen and mirrors were filthy and the washers didn t work as any fluid added to washer tank just leaked directly onto the floor I doubt I will use again

I have used NVR twice

I have used NVR twice once in 2022 and once in 2023 On both occasions the quality of the cars were great The delivery and collection was later than expected but I suppose was within their T s C s My second hire which was for a month I ended up with a car smaller than I had ordered which would have cost me less had I ordered that car Questioned it and asked for a refund didn t even get a reply 2022 had to constantly nag to get my deposit back 2023 - still nagging no deposit refunded for 2023 hire which was August and its now October So in a nutshell the cars are good the hire rates are good - the admin and customer service in my experiences is garbage They still owe me

They don t return deposits

Van rented was fit for purpose and good price but a bit banged up All damage monitored closely so take your own photos on pickup Nightmare to deal with in getting the deposit back Been 20days and still waiting for the deposit back I wouldn t recommend to use again I just hope i get the deposit back

Unacceptable delay in returning deposits

We ve used Nationwide twice in the last few months The first time was okay with the exception of the return of the security deposit taking so long The second time was horrendous The van had a faulty tail lift which meant we couldn t use it to complete the job They couldn t offer us another vehicle to complete the job until it had been confirmed it wasn t our fault which is understandable but frustrating We were told we d need to re-book at a cost of approx 700 including the second security deposit However the main reason for the review is the unacceptable amount of time it takes this company to return security deposits We are still waiting for the 500 to be returned despite this being released weeks ago I now know this is not a one-off and is clearly a company policy that needs to be changed I will not be coming back

Terrible customer service Unable to speak to somebody

Drop off was an hour late and 3 hours late for collection the next day which was explained at the time due to traffic The issue I am having ever since is the return of my deposit I had an email to say it was returned and allow 7-10 days for it to show up on my account but did not show up and have been trying to call them since December I eventually reach reception staff who say someone will call back but never happens Email also ignored Upped to 2 stars as eventually got deposit back Still haven t had a response though Will avoid next time as it shouldn t be this hard to get service

Saw the reviews after Id booked and was expecting the worst Hired a SWB van and overall the experience wasnt nearly as bad and I was expecting 72 plate van decently presented had a couple of small scuffs but was shown in delivery notes Only reason for 4 stars was van was slighty late and was picked up slightly late too Day after recieved email to say depost has been released and will be with me in 5-7 days Must be one of the lucky ones UPDATE Scrap the above Now has been 12 working days and no sign of deposit
