I always judge a company on how well they react when something goes wrong - Online carpets terrible

Now resolved to my satisfaction I ve ordered 3 carpets from online carpets previously with no issues at all This time I needed a carpet for my new baby granddaughters new bedroom Carpet arrived as promised and thankfully a family friend fits all our carpets for us We always over order by at least 10 cm as per terms and conditions- the carpet fitter quickly realised that the carpet when cut by online carpets had been cut at an angle meaning it fit at one end of the room but not the other First of all online carpets tried to blame fitter error but we knew this wasn t the case as we had helped him lift it up stairs after several long email exchanges including video evidence of the join the fitter had to make to piece the carpet together we were finally offered 25 gesture of goodwill - this was after online carpets reviewed their cctv image of how the carpet was cut in their factory I ve rejected this offer and they ve come back offering 40 which I still don t think is sufficient considering I ordered plenty of carpet paid full price and am now left with a joined carpet I always judge a company on how well they respond if things don t go well - Online Carpets had an opportunity to really put things right but sadly they have failed miserably I won t be ordering again I really wish we had just asked them to send us a brand new piece of carpet but I couldn t as our Grandaughter was staying with us the following night
