Mediocre experience

I have used Voyages several times to buy train tickets and this was the first time I had problems with them but if I m honest the service was quite poor just overall it was a mediocre experience Like I said I have used them several times and they have always sent the tickets promptly and I received them within a few days This time I ordered them and they never arrived- not their fault they were sent- but they told me the only solution was to buy new tickets and have them reimbursed Given that I was travelling from one end of the country to the other Hamburg to Munich and I was being told I had to buy brand new tickets a day before I wanted to depart the cost did not leave me thrilled and it seemed like a kinda bad solution- why couldn t I change my ticket to an e-ticket for example Nonetheless I bought new tickets and ended up having to take the 13 hour coach and lose a day of my holiday as I simply couldn t afford to buy 400 worth of train tickets The biggest issue I had as well was just trying to get in touch with ANYONE I am currently living in Germany but used the english site because I paid using my english card- made sense to me But it picked up that I was in Germany and put the prices into Euros This to me also made sense I m used to things picking up i m in Germany and putting the price in Euros But when I finally managed to call someone about my missing tickets they couldn t find my booking because I had paid in Euros and said that i d have to call the French helpline I also was unable to access my booking online- the English website told me I couldn t view it because I d paid in euros and the German french basically every other website told me I couldn t view it because I had bought my tickets on the English website The whole thing was basically a mess It s going to take them up to 6 weeks to even refund me so make that 7 weeks in total which is too long to be hanging round and a few hundred euros down I have used them several times and they ve been so efficient but the incapability of being able to contact anyone and everything being so slow means I ve been left with somewhat of a taste in my mouth Next time I ll pay more and go direct

Dishonest unprofessional and incompetent

I tried to exchange a ticket through Voyages-SNCF s online system Both times I was told there was a technical error and received automated e-mails assuring me I was not be charged in fact I was charged both times I submitted my refund claim and three weeks later have been through a series of Kafkaesque e-mails and calls during which the customer representatives claim my refund is still being processed but they have no idea when I will receive it When I asked to speak to a manager I was told there is none which while not credible would at least explain the shoddy customer service Don t use the company it s a shambles if not a shamFirst Update on 21 July response to Voyages-SNCF reply Dear Jeremy I have not received my refund nor has Ann the last Voyages-SNCF customer representative with whom I spoke on 19 July e-mailed me yet as promised with any update The reference for the ticket for which I was twice charged for failed exchanges is SIYZJB and the reference for my refund case is 290648Thanks ElaSecond Update on 21 July Following E-mail from Voyages-SNCF Dear Jeremy I have received an e-mail from one of your colleagues advising that I will receive a refund within six to eight weeks The amount of time required for my refund to be processed is quite remarkable Nonetheless I shall wait and provide an update on this forum about whether I receive my refund by 14 SeptemberThanks ElaThird Update on 30 JulyDear Jeremy Astonishingly my refund appeared in my account today I imagine its appearance nine days into the promised six-to-eight-week period albeit still over five weeks since two amounts were wrongly debited from my account is because of your intervention so thank you for that and I have upgraded my review by one star to reflect your assistance However I still won t be using Voyages SNCF again as the difficulties in resolving things when they do go wrong are excessiveThanks Ela

No english information or announcements Personel on train couldn t english either

Taking the Sunday 13 August 2023 at 09 02 train from Marne La Vallee Chessy to Rennes First class ticketsWe encountered that all information on the station in Marne La Valleee was in French where we needed help No personel could help us and we almost boarded the wrong train coach since one personel was tired of us and just said this one this one However a random person helped us in the right direction so we had to run to the other end of the long train and get on We just made the train In the train all annoucements were again in French and when I asked the ticket inspectors train personel not a single one could english and tell us what the information gives was We just said there clueless the entire train ride Luckily we new we just had to get off at the last station Very uprofessionel However the first class tickets were nice and the train ride was great otherwise

the sncf service when it works is

the sncf service when it works is great the staf is nice and helpfull and even if you mis your train they will put you on another Their only glitch is the fact that they have traditional strikes just before the holidays and just after the holidays cancelling your train with a whoopsie email and later sending you an email thanking you for your FAITH in their service

Unfair pet fare policy

I wanted to buy a ticket for me and my dog and was shocked to find out that while my fare is 1 20 Euro the ticket price for the dog is 7 Euros It is a 4 minute ride in a regional train How is this possible It s absurd

I recently booked to travel to Avignon

I recently booked to travel to Avignon by way of Eurostar and SNCF My wife has had a stroke and has difficulty walking Help was arranged by Eurostar and sncf Assistance was waiting for us at London Lille and Avignon All staff were extremely helpful and friendly The same applied on the return journey via the Paris stations I would like to thank all those involved for this excellent service
