I m not learning crap from my program

I m not learning crap from my program and I m beginning think I m going to get screwed im going to get a worthless degree that ll cost me thousands of dollars

Pro and cons

I have enjoyed the flow of classes the expectations are considered normal it has been quite typical of online degree What I haven t enjoyed is the classes themselves and professionalism of professors and the lack there of They are suppose to be gatekeepers of this profession and see where there may or may not be possible situations arising with there students I get that they don t interact face to face with their students but maybe they should I have really struggled with group work within the classes unprofessional conduct with the professors not to mention the disconnect and I thought I would be learning a lot more and I am not The last few classes have been pertinent to counseling field in and of itself and there is not leatnage happening Thank god I am already a counselor and have some type of knowledge of the field I can rely on Lastly the no breaks between classes is hard It would be nice to even have a couple day break between every class

This is what 40k gets you

IT support is super Financial aid answers questions quickly However I don t feel like the teachers teach You re given an assignment hopefully the directions are clear and don t contradict any instructions on the actual form and expected to know how to do it with no instruction or often times example given When your assignment is graded you re marked down because you didn t do it correctly Big surprise- we weren t TAUGHT the concept I understand we are doing distance learning They could make a video an audio file or draw a flow chart The most recent class CCMH 551 used an online text with incorrect instructions for writing chart notes Chart notes are an important aspect of patient care and the text teaches it incorrectly For this price UoP can do better It s clear there s a template for a class and hopefully the professor knows how to implement it correctly

like on line took a little while to get the full scope of how the program works would be nice to receive a grade not just a MA and this does not appear to match actual grade

My experience wasn t bad until Angie Hodges teaching medical insurance became my instructor which I ve seen complaints on her online with past students pertaining to her disposition She seems to have a attitude She doesn t explain curriculums well and seems to have a attitude when replying to your questions She s the worse I was planning to move forward with my future education pursuing my degree in another field with this university However After my experience with her I will not Thank you to all my professors Instructors that helped and communicated appropriately I m just returning back to school after years of not being in school so it s a challenge of course it helps to have professors Instructors that want to actually serve the purpose of helping others not everyone is meant to be in a certain position If students had a choice to pick your teachers she definitely would not be chosen

Finishing soon but not soon enough

Although I have had some great experiences it s very discouraging when you continue to get mixed information from the staff in place to help you This is definitely a self taught yet graded program and requires a great deal of self advocacy to complete the journey Not saying self advocacy is a bad thing but if I m paying for a service I just feel like there should be more available without the ask Yes it will be my degree at the end however the clarity of the program is not made clear in the beginning Some instructors are metal-hard and not willing to budge at all and then there are some that will do everything possible to help you succeed I would say to any incoming students be sure to ask a million questions talk to other students past and present and be sure you understand that this process will not be like any degree you ve received prior I ll be done soon just not soon enough

In the beginning the school and program

In the beginning the school and program were a great fit for my life Allowed me flexibility with a schedule to complete my degree I felt they were supportive and encouraging Unfortunately this most recent experience has caused me to reflect on my choice of school as there are options and I now find myself evaluating my choice and options

The overall experience was great I

The overall experience was great I achieved what I wanted But the process to do so was extremely exhausting and difficult I had to keep pushing staff to move things the way I needed it to work for me There was always a problem The At the end I m left on my own thank goodness I found my own footing and was able to obtain excellent employment No thanks to the university on that

Confusing policies

There has been a lot of back and forth and confusion on my school Not with classes but being told I was withdrawn making me fill out exit interviews and having been told to fill out for a leave of absence I don t care that this is policy it has been very confusing and could have done damage to my financing and classes

Multiple degrees with UOPX but

I am going to be a triple grad from UOPX later next year I am enjoyed most of my programs until I got to the education degree There are so many issues with this program the one major being the student teaching and ridiculous amount of observations required for this degree I have looked into other programs and this is waived and I do not understand why UOPX cannot do the same The program itself is hard enough as a graduate degree but I am not indifferent to hard work but worthless and un-needed work especially in a job-embedded program is one of the reasons why there is a teacher shortage Some of this is not UOPX s fault but something needs to change soon or it is going to get worse The education system is expensive hoop jumping and honestly just ridiculous and the pay does not match the work by any means UOPX could be the beacon of change if they wanted to be
