As alumni seeking helping with career search

As alumni seeking helping with employment afterwards was useless Sought resume help which I was advised to schedule a career advising appt which I did She didn t review it only sent me an outline to use She went over jobs I am not qualified to do As someone who has worked in job placement rolls for higher Ed this was extremely disappointing and I feel I have wasted my time

I m a VA student and the housing

I m a VA student and the housing allowance we receive is base on the days we re in class Even though my classes are back to back the university reports them a week later causing me to lose a weeks worth of income because of their reporting systems If I had to do it again I would choose a different school

Finding preceptors

I really love the online aspect and that the program is convenient for those still working I think that the fact we have to find our own preceptor is very stressful as not everyone knows somebody which puts those students at a disadvantage I personally was living and Phoenix and had to make telephone calls to doctors offices and I got hung up on 20 times in a row I don t see how this is an effective or fair use of my time as it seems many people are unwilling to precept and those that are are fully booked I think the university should offer financial incentives or find a way to make finding preceptors easier because I know I m not the only one to have trouble with this

In trying to do a program change it takes way too long to go through the process inter- departmental processes are slow and time consuming Neither department knows what the other is doing

I do feel as though we need more practical work I think some instructors are putting forth filler work which takes advantage of our time

My son was in ICU for 2 weeks and

My son was in ICU for 2 weeks and hospital for a week and a half and I was not able to catch up work from my course and ended my course with a D Ruining my 4 0 GPA

Mixed Review

It started well However I have had a few mishaps with instructors and have been unable to come to a resolution with my advisor In turn I have decided to pause to reset and hope for a better experience beginning in 2024

A Great University that needs some adjustments

As a college student I have mixed feelings about my school On one hand the classes are relatively easy and straightforward which can be convenient However this simplicity also poses a problem as I often feel like I m not truly challenging myself or learning anything new Another issue I ve encountered is the lack of a student advocate Despite my academic achievements such as consistently earning A s being on the dean s list and being a part of the honor society I received no support when I had a problem with a professor The student advocates seemed to only be available during the first few weeks of the semester leaving me to handle issues on my own Additionally there are no designated days off which can be quite exhausting

Pros Cons

Pros So easy an idiot can sign up Online platform is easy use and navigate Teachers are 98 of the time good Cons No labs for science majors No way to test out of easy general Education classes No options of honor societies or other accolades No letters of recommendation from professors I really have been disappointed with lack of opportunities for those of us with high GPAs like 3 6 and higher I could go on

Professors are amazing

Professors are amazing classes are perfect for working individuals with families Would have given 5 stars but the Financial advisors are the worst Everyone gives different information and unfortunately I have misadvised on so many occasions this year I ended up not having the funding I was told I would have and have to pay cost out of pocket for my final two classes
