Would be good if I wasn t deafened when

Would be good if I wasn t deafened when a commercial comes on I don t mind commercials but I do mind losing my hearing No thanks Plex I would rather pay to stream a service who isn t trying to shove a commercial through my eardrum

Barely better than streaming raw files

Barely better than streaming raw files The UI is great when it works However sometimes a patch will suddenly make your files no longer streamable The app will always try to get you to watch the streaming content from Plex with commercials rather than your own files The support is nonexistent and extremely rude If you pay for the Plex Pass for 90 you get a couple monitoring tools on your phone and can manage sharing for users but you will still get the ads sporadically working functionality and the rude lack of service

Shows are good volume on commercial NOT

Shows are good HUGELY jacking up volume for commercials is annoying and I m pretty sure is illegal I forgot to add often 3 of 5 times approximately after the ads show refuses to restart get black screen then you have to restart the show and guess where you were at I ve pretty much quit watching anything on plex

Plex is not free and filled with rubbish

Plex makes the publicity that it s free but is not after installation on my Synology NAS and downloading the Android app I had to pay 6 EUR to watch more than 1 minute of my NAS movies Scam Removing all the US channels commercial rubbish lead me to the fact that DS Video from Synology is still better than Plex

Good selection of movies but the adverts make it impossible to watch Totally ruined it Didn t get the whole way through a whole film as had to turn it off because the adverts became an overwhelming annoyance

It works but the phone always looses connection to the chromecast so you have to reconnect it to pause or stop a video Edit 2023-01-05 Its still like this review stays 3 5

Works great and is free to use almost all features

Works great and is free Downside is if you do want to pay don t expect any support When I ve had to do maintenance in my server it s required trawling forums and KB articles And that s for a product that they offer a subscription for My advice just use the free version

Its decent but maybe to advanced

Its decent but maybe to advanced The UI adding files and general usage of Plex was easy and worked i did however have some issues with audio being out of sync now and then and my somewhat poor Server had issues with 3 users I used this for quite some time mainly for Offline over a network use It was a complete hassle and in the end didn t work very well I changed to Jellyfin and have not experienced any of the issues stated here
