I am using Plex for all my media Even for a tech novice the functionality of getting all my media to display on a TV is awesome I can watch movies see my pictures play music from multiple devices Really cool app

I am pretty shocked by all of the negative reviews on here I put Plex on my Samsung smart TV maybe 2 years ago and have loved loading it up with thousands of my movies hundreds of my TV shows now all nicely organized with perfect descriptions and guess what if there s something I don t like that Plex loads it s called metadata I can just edit it and overwrite every detail Once I looked up how to properly name files everything worked perfectly so perhaps a lot of folks are having issues with that The only real complaint I ve had of late is a lot of the actor s photos are missing from the film pages but that s really minor I actually gave them money because I felt the service was so good but I think it s free so if you don t believe me try it out Plex seems like a service that caters to fanatics like me It is a great place to catalog organize your huge movie collection and since 99 of details are customizable and can be edited I really don t know how you can have issue with this service

Life Time SubscriptionI have been running plex since the early days and the features just keep on coming they have had there issues but i do download and install the pre-release versions and always fixed quickly love it and cannot complain

I had been using the free version Plex for a few years now and jumped when they made me an offer for the lifetime premium version which offers more features I think there is some confusion with some of the reviewers as to what Plex is It s a way of watching your own videos music Audio files throughout your house and also when you are away from home They have recently added the ability to watch many streaming channels for free if you have bought the premium option The important thing to remember that Plex is not a streaming services like Prime or Netflix but a way of watching your OWN files and also if you want to to allow your family to watch your own files too I absolutely love the Plex and use the native Plex app on my TV s to watch everything on my server with no issues

I was very slow to get onto the Plex platform I chose it over other options because of the Plex App on my TV and OTA TV recording I am using a 4 year old 6th gen PC The TV s are all using standard home 54 mb sec 802 11G Wi-Fi My TV s are 2017 LG Smart TV s running WebOS nothing special It just works I am recording 10 hours of OTA TV a day while watching my DVD content as well as all of the online media including transcoding on the fly for mobile clients The installation was straight forward except that I didn t initially understand the home media server content versus the online Plex content The new TV channels have had a few issues for one or two days I had issues with movies re-starting after the Plex advertisement Not a big deal next day it was fixed

Used with a Chromecast in every TV in the house running from a small desktop server The iPhone Pad app was nasty but since changing back to an Android phone it works amazingly again Interface is good clean simple to setup and very cheap for a licence a few per month for advanced options but think there is a free option too

By looking at other reviews it seems obvious that this app is not for everyone you will need to setup a media server for this to work to it s full potential but its amazing UI and very easy setup with almost flawless integration onto mobile and TV Couldn t reccomend anything better for watching your own media One thing to note Filenames are very important and could cause issues if not named well Kudos to the developers
