Most UK women are not 5 11 tall so why are the models

Sorry Rab but when you use a model who is 5 11 and wearing a size Small for a womans Goretex jacket you have to expect the image to be misleading for those of us who are average height Currently 5 4 in the UK I sent the jacket back as it was about 3 too long

I purchased an alpine light jacket in

I purchased an alpine light jacket in xl which was OK in body size but massively long in the arms so I changed for a large which at first seemed OK however after one wear out onto the trails I discovered there was virtually no movement under the arms and it became very uncomfortable I asked rab if this was a defect as it seemed a bit strange that the garment would be so tight under the arms to a point were it felt it would rip but was absolutelyfine in every other dimension and actually still quite long in the arms I m not an unusual shape height or weight but the reply was we can t do anything about it as you have worn the item Would never use rab again

No pack pocket or stuff sack

The company advertises its Vital womens lightweight jacket with a picture of the product in its own stuffsack to show how small it packs - the key feature for this product Apparently they decided to stop providing the sack to use less material - which is greener They dont mention this on the website Leaving out other features like the hood or pockets would also save material But those - like the ability to pack it - are important features Note that the men s version has a dedicated pack pocket to stow the garment The women s version doesn t get that but costs the same A less functional product at the same price Not green or ethical - just saving money and being hypocritical about it But they will send you emails explaining how virtuous they are being providing a product with key features taken out

Don t buy Rab Deep Cover Parker

I bought a Rab deep cover Parker from Go Outdoors Although aware it was not waterproof this is not even drizzle proof I contacted Rab to inform them it had little or no water repellency I was told by Rab it was not waterproof and that was the end of the matter For a company that sells mountain ware and products for extreme weather I found this very disappointing I will not buy another Rab product

Appalling customer service

I bought a Rab down jacket about 3 years ago and the zip stopped working properly after 2 years I sent the jacket in and they replaced the zip slider 11 months later the new zip slider fell off I contacted Rab customer service who told me to send in an email with pictures I then had no response for almost a week despite a call and 3 chasing emails Eventually I got an email saying I need to pay for a new zip despite the fact they replaced the zip slider which fell off Very disappointed - poor service and not standing behind d their repairs I will buy a North Face jacket instead

Just OK

Just OK Messaged RAB about non delivery A guy called I am not allowed to say his name replied ye technical issue There is never ever ever a technical issue taking the money So thats ok then When will so called customer service departments which seems to be only one person begin to learn that we are their bread and butter Is this company going the same way as Rohan Incidentally it is prohibited to name members of staff Amazingly if you check the positive reviews lo and behold they are littered with the christian names of those who are in favour It is beginning to appear that Rab are vetting unhelpful complaints and concocting reasons to stop them being published I think Rab are on a slippery slope here

Frustrating to deal with

I have emailed rab repair SEVERAL times asking for a quote to repair a couple of their items as they don t seem to have a category for this on their website I just want to organise a repair which I m happy to pay but feel this straight forward request is impossible They insist I provide proof of purchase but they aren t in warranty and haven t got any I just want to sort out a repair Any ideas

Had to contact Rab due to a faulty zip

Had to contact Rab due to a faulty zip on jacket Sent images of fault to which they replied looks like heat damage I strongly disputed this I did however go ahead with the repair and paid for this I sent a covering letter asking them to examine the jacket No contact from them until I kept on chasing with calls and e mails finally got a reply saying they will not replace under warranty Still not satisfied as this is no fault of my own

Don t buy Rab anymore

I have quite a few bits of Rab clothing and just bought a second Superflux hoodie grid fleece technical top - old one had a hole in it which is to be expected after several years The new one same name and part number has been changed to a brushed fleece I asked Rab who said they constantly improve products This is a major change from a technical topwhich regulates warmth to a cheaper warmer top Rab is putting prices up and quality and features down whilst calling it the same thing I will be buying other brands from now on

Poor checkout experience

They have a system where they get you to log onto your bank app and certify that the CC payment you want to make on the Rab site is genuine Mine froze when I returned to the Rab site after certifying - takes a lot of trust to go through the process again thankfully worked Never had this elsewhere Mad when you re paying full price here usually heavily discounted in Go Outdoors etc that they have such a flaky system
