Carelessly packed boxes and broken eggs

The boxes were overpacked and eggs stuffed down the side which meant unsurprisingly broken egg which had leaked over several of the other items Other delicate items were also packed with no apparent care On the plus side all items were available and the delivery driver was very helpful

Better training and more time allowance for pickers and packers

The packers for online shopping are not trained correctly My shopping came with individual yogurts placed at the bottom of the crate and heavy items on top resulting in 2 of them braking open and speeding on several items of grocery The fresh lasagnes were packed on the side resulting in everything falling to the bottom of the container in a heap Both packets of fresh cakes had heavy items on top of them I e a large melon and a bunch of bananas All these complaints are basic common sense Maybe packers are not allowed enough time to do the job correctly or maybe Sainsbury s could print the grocery list with heavy items first and fresh items and easily damaged items last I did not order Easter eggs last week because I feared they would be damaged

Software issues

Unfortunately I ordered for delivery when the software systems were down last week I was upset that after waiting to get through to Customer Services for 45 minutes that the call was cut off Therefore I am unable to provide feedback on this occasion

Very poor srvice

First the appointed pick up point is so small only one car a time Also the speaker system attendant does not understand English had to spell my name out 4 times tow trolleys still their had to get out to move them to get into allotted area Just one more point I am disabled thats why I use the click collect Was much better when in the the car park area with a van with my shopping waiting for me

Poor website experience

Poor website Trouble logging in - usually takes 2-3 attempts despite entering 100 correct credentials Product view by category is VERY poor - notionally identical products presented in different sections Site often hangs and presents a waiting dialogue box Deselecting a favourite product doesn t always work correctly Quality of veggies hit n miss - often small or damaged produce that we wouldn t select in store

Rude drivers

I have found some of the male delivery drivers very rude I have a baby and am not always the most organised I have asked previously for shopping to be bought through to help which was declined At times the baby is asleep so I kindly ask for hush tones so not to wake them met with a huff and rudeness Completely unsympathetic Alongside the rudeness often the wrong items have been packed the fruit is typically of poor quality and doesn t last long I feel the quality of produce and service has significantly declined Lastly the Sainsbury s website needs some serious investment It often crashes painfully slow All in all I m left feeling disappointed week after week

Disappointed customer

Peppers were mushy and had to be thrown away A couple of apples were very heavily bruised Bread was squashed between 2 bottles In recent weeks the veg hasn t lasted I didn t notice at delivery but the chicken breasts were best before the Saturday and delivery was only the Friday

Awful service for grocery delivery

Sometimes great food sometimes great value sometimes one of the best supermarkets in the UK However shopping online with them is a bit of a nightmare when things don t go well I recently had a delivery where the driver was threatening unfriendly and criticised me for living on the first floor demanded I take one of the boxes up myself and warned me if I didn t he d just bin it On top of that it was half an hour late Sainsbury s main way to raise a complaint is via twitter which is less than ideal as this is a public forum even if you DM with them your data is not 100 secure After much research they do have a way to complain via an online form So I did that and waited for a response When they did they say I complained about a damaged item and that the delivery was within the time saying it had been delivered an hour earlier than the driver actually turned up

Nectar card not giving the right discounts

I went into Sainsbury s today Monday 25 March where I used the self service checkouts because there were no cashier check outs as is normal I scanned my nectar card and at the end the nectar card didn t adjust the total amount discounts I told the self checkout assistant she then swiped my nectar and it came up with same The assistant told another member of staff to check the items which had the correct nectar discounts The self checkout assistant then manually reduced the items Starbucks coffee I said politely to the assistant that there must be more customers who weren t aware that this was happening and had paid full price The assistant walked off no apology I felt this was bad mannered Thus the review Normally the self checkout assistants are very helpful

Website often has problems

Website often has problems it s slow issues with payment nectar issues Often I make initial contact and find going through Facebook on messenger the only way of getting hold of someone and then it takes the same question repeated at least twice to get an answer and sometimes the answer doesn t relate to the question asked The past couple of online shops have been painful to be honest I ve shopped with sainsburys for years and I m starting to wonder if I should go elsewhere
