Reminds me of Japan

This was a lovely surprise as a gift I spent many years in Japan and I really appreciate the handcrafted and carefully selected items in each box However I have had to discard about half of the contents with this most recent box due to their being potential traces of seafood Of course I greatly appreciate the allergen information listed of any and all potential allergens It would be nice though if they would include more of the foods that do not have these for those customers who do not can not consume this type of food It is disappointing to have to forgo eating what I m sure is otherwise delicious food

Sakuraco is worth the money

We live Sakuraco and look forward to receiving or box each month There is always a non-edible memento from the featured location a beautiful full color booklet that tells about the enclosed treats and how they are made Thank you to the staff at Sakuraco for curating these boxes each month

Pros and Cons Of Sakuraco s Snack Box

Pros- Robust packaging- Really detailed information booklet love this - Lots of interesting tasty snacksCons- Sometimes too many seafood based snacks for a vegetarian like myself I d love to subscribe to a vegetarian version of this box but that s just wishful thinking - I don t really like receiving Sakuraco branded products as the non-food item of the month for January I got a Sakuraco sake cup which was very well made but I d prefer if the brand name wasn t there Overall I like this subscription service a fair bit I ve received three boxes so far and I ve enjoyed each one I d just like a more vegetarian friendly box

An excellent selection of authentic Japanese treats

Fast shipping and the box surprisingly contained more than expected in lovely packaging We very much enjoyed the selection of treats especially the azikiwe bean loaf and plum mochiko The only thing I will say is that the T C s weren t quite clear enough and the shipping cost was only clarified after paying and it was quite a lot extra hence why Im only giving it 4 stars However overall I was quite happy with everything including the free glass and I think for what you receive it is worth it as long as you re aware of your subscription plan

May s box Moonlit Sakura

May s box Moonlit Sakura had an amazing blend of snacks The Genji pies and Sakura wafer were so delicious Only reason I m giving a 4 5 is because a few of the smaller more delicate snacks were broken upon arrival Also I believe the nutritional page was incorrect and I ve noticed it isn t always included

Definitely gonna buy again

The package took a long time to arrive but otherwise is lovely It looks small but has quite a lot of things inside to enjoy It was a treat to read about and eat these well treats And the Furoshiki that came with makes me want to get a proper bento box to wrap it up in I m genuinely so happy with my box that I m afraid my wallet is in danger haha Definitely planning on buying another at some point

Truly excellent items beware of auto-renewal

The Sakuraco boxes are of exceptional quality and beautifully presented Receiving it is like receiving a perfectly packaged gift The treats are delicious and locally sourced and the descriptive guide that comes in each box is very well put together with lots of great info on the products and on Japanese culture and the history of some of the treats It is a little pricier than some other boxes but in terms of quality and supporting a wider range of businesses it seems worth it The only thing that lets the customer down is the auto-renewal system It feels a bit scammy though I think it is just capitalistic I had a 3-month subscription and in my account it looked as though it would end after the the 3 months It was not clear that the 3-month subscription would auto-renew But it did and the company does not offer a refund even if you contact them right away I think I contacted them within 3 hours of the email alerting me to the renewal payment Customer service was pleasant but firm and offered to convert the charge to credit that could be used at their other online shop But once you ve paid you re not getting your money back From other reviews this seems to be a common complaint So do watch out for the auto-renewal system Overall I d highly recommend the Sakuraco boxes - they give you a chance to explore Japan at home through delicious treats pretty homewares and a beautiful mini-magazine
