I have bought 2 watches from Steinhart
I have bought 2 watches from Steinhart The Ocean One 500 Titanium Premium And I was amazed by the built quality After 15 days started to lose more and more time until it losed 20 seconds a day Not well for a Swiss Made timekeeper After that I got it regulated at my expenses and I have upgraded it to SW300 Top Grade myself swapping the movement Last week I bought the Ocean One 39 Black Ceramic Received it in 2 days And this is an amazing watch also Great unboxing experience like always Steinhart has So far the watch loses 3 seconds on the timegrapher and has 290 degree of amplitude with 0 0 beat error amazing Lets see in 30 days I will do another test Just a little problem with the screws of the bracelet which have been closed by The Hulk apparently and I broke even my Bergeon screwdriver and the screw heads themselves ruining a bit the unboxing experience of a watch that apparently was perfect at the first glance This are details that can and cannot be acceptable in a 500 watch range but the value for money for this watch is so high that I am not planning to be so picky I can forgive them This is not a very bad detail The cyclop is well aligned there is no dirt in the dial and the bezel does not have backplay And is not too hard even This seems a legit great watch for your money Definitely a keeper The customer service promptly said they will ship 5 spare screw bars for the bracelet to my address And they said they do not want payments for that I can pay 10 bucks not a problem after all they are just screws That is a good point for them Good for that Steinhart 5 stars when I receive the screw and after the 30 days test of the watch performance Hopefully everything goes right Because honestly this is a 4 5 star review not only 4 UPDATE OF THE DAY AFTER Steinhart even agreed helped me to solve another problem on the watch at their expenses A problem relative to an invisible scratch that bothers me on the ceramic bezel A perfectly straight side to side of the ceramic insert scratch Since its ceramic its very hard to scratch especially in that way so they thought that probably was a defect since the birth of the watch and probably it is because I do not wear diamonds and I had the watch for less than 6 hours on the wrist They answered the mail the phone and their attitude is extremely polite if you are kind with them of course and not rude like many are They really love to do what they do look like and they don t care about having loss some money but they care about the customer Of course this depends from assistant to assistant and from one day to another but my experience with Steinhart was extremely nice Be polite with them explain your problem if you have it send pictures without making questions and they will solve it Remember that PERFECTION does NOT exist even on a ROLEX I had 2 on my wrist and I could notice problems on the cyclop on the bezel on the hour markers and even on consistency of Superluminova Those defect make your watch unique Is just the scratch that is annoying I will definitely buy also the Green Ocean One that I like so much from their site The experience with them has been very good and I am happy about having a good company that sell many good watches at this price with good customer support Review changed to 5 stars

a Horror logical not a Horological Watch Company I bought their Premium Titanium Ocean 500 GMT The bracelet fell apart because the screws don t properly screw in OK so the bracelet is rubbish So I used loctite to put the screws back in and did so for each one I thought my woes were behind in terms of deployment no sir the watch came apart because the spring bars that hold the end links in kept jumping out and the bracelet gets loose So I took off the bracelet and noted that springs don t securely hold any strap or bracelet in It seems the holes are too shallow and wide I bought four different sets of spring bars with the same problem they jump out with even slight twisting of the wrist and each time scratches the virtually unworn watch around the lug holes Then when I looked carefully I see the entire case is machine in a diagonally skew fashion it is small but noticeable One Jewellery told me the reason the springs are not holding is that they are not held with an even pressure on each side because of the defect in the case machining - he was the one that alerted me to the skewness of the case in the first place As a result the lugs are of an un-even width and length and this pattern is repeated on the opposite side confirming that indeed the case is machined skewed The crown does not screw in symmetrically top and bottom so on the one side it screws until it is flush and on the other side there is still a gap - again confirming that case is actually skew and surfaces not aligned properly The actually machining around the insides of the crown guards is very rough The bezel does not line up at the top and the GMT hand does not align to the hour hand when the minute hand is set to the 12 O Clock position As the 24 hour second time zone is reliant on both of these being aligned actually reading the second time zone needs some calculation on the viewer as you have to offset for theses manufacturing errors The watch was purchased through a local reseller and I will quote all screws in bracelets fall out even Rolex so you need to keep a check on this and use loctite to help and carry around a jewelers screwdriver The out of aligned GMT hand apparently no Watch Manufacturer gets this right even Rolex and they all have GMT alignment issues guess I am lucky my other two GMT watches a Baume et Mercier and a Montblanc are perfectly aligned and so is my friends Breitling GMT just more luck on our part I guess The bezel not aligned is because the watch has been knocked Finally we come to the lugs uneven width length apparent although they look quite thick and contrary to what I thought about the strengths of Titanium it actually bends and the watch has been knocked so the lugs are now skew Coincidentally it got knocked on the other side of the watch on the opposite side to precisely mirror the knock on the one side This watch is being sent back to you Steinhart at my cost from sunny South Africa through the local resellers so you can examine your manufacturing procedures and hopefully revise them in the light of the perfect storm of watch defects that my one presents to you I have photographic and video evidence and testaments from several jewelers to the absolutely abysmal quality of this specific watch If you want some fun look at Steinhart s own web page and their own photos of the watches with GMT functions It is indeed true that none of the GMT hands are consistent given the location of the minute hand

Steinhart ocean black watch
purchased a watch from steinhart turned up really fast but watch didn t work they wasn t answering emails so had to get paypal involved when they did answer the return wasn t the easiest they refunded my money minus 46 pounds which is disgusting as the watch was faulty so don t see why I m paying the p p they basically said oh well as there in Germany makes more difficult overall not a great experience and advise everyone else not to purchase from this company and look for uk company

Poor quality
Owned 2 of their watches couple of years ago - Ocean One ETA movement - Ocean One Vintage In-house movement back then seems that one has been replaced by ETA these days Sold them both as I was really disappointed dissatisfied with the quality Issues I had with the Ocean One - Bezel got stuck after awhile- Lume fell out of the socket- Screws falling out of the braceletIssues I had with the Ocean One Vintage - The watch just stopped working after a couple of weeks Steinhart after-care was unable to fix the issue Analysis by a local watch maker eventually pointed out that the socket of the balance wheel was a slightly too big causing the balance wheel to fall out and block the whole watch I got in touch with their customer service for both watches issues They were responsive and helpful However the repair guys are apparently not capable of fixing the issues the OOV just failed again after some time Eventually before selling them I had them fixed by my local watch maker In conclusion At first glance the watches have a nice look although most of them are just hommages feel to them but the nature of my issues spread over 2 different watches really messed up my perception of the quality of the brand I would never buy one again and I am not recommending potential buyers to do so Their are a lot of other quality brands out there at the same price point that don t fail after a couple of years even months

AVOID AVOID AVOID The most terrible customer service ever Had an email on Thursday the 18th of july saying that your parcel has recently been shipped and the parcel was supposed to be delivered on the 22nd of july by 6PM and it never turned up Spoke to FedEx they said it s not been even shipped yet Got back to Steinhart lady didn t even bother to say sorry for what happened and started covering the situation by saying that the person who was taking care of your watch isn t in today He she will come tomorrow and then we will see what to do next Guys trust me don t waste your money and time with this bogus company Go for some other brand which has a bit better customer care And it s not first time last time I ordered a watch 2yrs ago they took the money and then there was nothing in return for good three days I had ring to chase my order Thank God I paid via PayPal they started proceeding with my order when I asked for my refund IF YOU BUY FROM THEM YOU WHAVE TO YELL TO BE SERVED WHICH YOU DON T DESERVE AS A CUSTOMER SO STAY WELL AWAY

Customer service not home
I was interested in buying a Steinhart but still having some questions about the compatibility with one of their rubber straps that can be bought separately I asked the customer service a few questions Received a automatic reply that my enquiry had been received in good order but after 10days I haven t received any reply to my questions Apparently Steinhart is not really interested in selling watches

I purchased 3 watches from them in 2016
I purchased 3 watches from them in 2016 and later one of the watch bracelet became faulty clasp not closing and loosened up rapidly after only 5 months use I contacted them to claim from warranty They responded after 2 days with the reply You can purchase aditional watch straps on our site Now how pathetic of a response was that I contacted them again but this time they would not replyI will urge others not to buy as all they do is copy other great watch company models and copy their design Its a big problem as they are based in Germany too PLEASE AVOID

Avoid poor quality control
Ordered a 39 dive watch from this company On delivery there was an obvious misprint mark on one of the date windows I immediately sent the watch back to Germany asking for a replacement which was an option inline with the company s policy Steinhart emailed me saying that to get a replacement I would have to get a refund from them before starting the ordering progress again There was no apology about the poor quality of their product I had paid 416 for the watch and delivery I received 391 refund from PayPal after PayPal had applied their sharp foreign exchange conversion After this experience decided to cut my losses and order a watch from a UK supplier
