We have two holiday lets insured with Towergate Without any communication Towergate cancelled the insurance renewal on one of the lets While I understand their product rules changed and our property didn t fit they did this with zero communication To make matters worse they then said they had communicated they finally accepted they hadn t and then tried to say it wasn t their fault It s a technical fault the email is sitting here not sent If I hadn t rung up we would have had no insurance Instead of finding us another insurer and product and providing options they then said new business will call today obviously they haven t We have been with them for over 10 years but it s clear that they don t care at all Very disappointing We pay Towergate as a broker to find cover not to cancel without telling us when it proves slightly problematic

Absolutely useless Waited about 10 working days for a buildings insurance quote on our vacant property whilst we re selling it I made multiple phone calls and they kept saying referred to under writers and kept asking me the same question and saying we ll get back to you but they never did On the day I needed cover quest what it was still with the under writers I gave up went online made a quick call and got the policy I needed within 20 minutes Avoid Towergate Useless inefficient and time wasters

As an executor of an estate I needed to change the name and renew a policy until probate is completed Spoke to a very disinterested telephone handler who was eating at the time Showed no compassion for the loss of a family member and interrupted saying I can t help you need to speak to executor If they had listened they would have known that s why I was calling I emailed a copy of the death certificate and am still waiting for a reply over a week later Have renewed insurance at a much lower price as Towergate clearly didn t need the business

The worst company I have ever dealt with Customer service was poor I was waiting for a quote for over a week I spoke to a lovely lady after having had one male agent cut the call on me and she had told me that the person who was dealing with my quote had been dismissed Clearly management doesn t know how to allocate work load I spoke to two team leaders who were no help in sorting my issue and they were dismissive In my opinion if you don t have enough staff don t get rid of them I will be taking my business elsewhere

Just a simple request to change an e mail address on my account seemed too much for this company to get right Still waiting for my renewal documents supposedly sent over a week ago

Would give 0 if could they have a whole page on their website about mothorme insurance filled in details online and called to be told they haven t done motorhome insurance for a long time Eh Why haven t you updated your website then to remove it the lady told me she gets lots of calls saying the same

Having been with Towergate Insurance for five years I was deeply disappointed when the underwriter refused to Insure our tourer in a storage facility another insurance company was happy to do so Admittedly it was the target of a gang of thieves the year before who stole a van but it was human error The thieves were caught and extra security added The storage facility is far more secure than the site we had it situated on and yet they were happy to insure us for that Their reasoning just doesn t make sense and their sorry you ve decided to leave us and can you tell us more emails are quite frankly insulting I wish I d have read some of the reviews about this company before giving them any of my money Update It also seems this company is fond of sending out forms and then don t follow through

Leaving them after 20 plus years of having professional indemnity with them Terrible customer services and ridiculous automated texting Also more expensive than everyone else for the pleasure Last few years they have been disinterested in even discussing my policy with them- they can t even be bothered to take my money now I dread what they would do if I ever needed to claim I can t risk it and so I promised myself this year I would leave if it continued and I have I got a better deal elsewhere and the customer service was a massive contrast Bye bye Towergate

In my experience Towergate are an introduction route to an insurance company so that you can tick a box to say you have insurance My wife s restaurant business went to the wall after the Towergate brokered insurance company based in China declined to pay out after two major incidents occurred where a claim was submitted that would have saved the business - one for business disruption at the UK Covid shut down period and a second business disruption instance where a third party building repair effectively hid the restaurant reducing its sales to a critical point that it failed Towergate should learn quickly to propose companies that consider business disruption claims or with no customers they could soon be at risk too

Poor customer service Spent time completing a detailed online quote for landlords insurance When their sales representative phoned me back a few hours later was told that unless I take out a policy with a start date this week - they are unable to provide me any sort of quote Felt extremely backward and poor customer service not to warn of that upfront Don t waste your time
