Complete waste of time

Complete waste of time Spent an hour on phone giving all the information to get a quote There was then no follow up from them If you are doing a big renovation project on a house that has problems to fix they wont cover you but no one bothers to contact you about your quote

Not suitable for new boat owners

Although Towergate Insurance were friendly and recommended they cannot or do not cover new boat owners - people with little experience So sadly was not able to proceed with them My review is that Towergate are not for everyone Only for the experienced

Won t respond

Purchase process and level of cover fine Then they bombarded me with calls and texts telling me they could get the policy I have just purchased for cheaper When I spoke to someone they said their systems didn t show that I had purchased the policy although I d paid and they d sent the documentation through Also emailed 3 times for further documentation and haven t received a reply Pretty frustrating overall and will put me off using them in future Perhaps I should have read the reviews on Trustpilot first

216 to change correspondance address

Recently had to change correspondance address Was charged 216 for the pleasure of this Going elsewhere when insurance comes up again Bloody piff take and totally unjustified amount Got ripped off by them during covid despite taking out insurance regarding notifiable illness and unforeseen closures Done with them now Update wow now i leave a review they take notice and follow up on the case Obviously if you do not update them then the initial review can be taken down which is how Trust Pilot can assist with managing online reviews I wonder how many responses i will now have emailed through

Quite poor purchase experience

Quite poor purchase experience Bought online - then got called to say they may be able to reduce the price - to be told it was a mistake And having queried one element of cover and removed it - there was no reduction in premium - and it wasn t competitive any more do I cancelled Was then informed it could take 60 days to get a refund Bank transfers are instant with modern banks

Rather useless

I ve been trying to ensure my business insurance is correct and up to date I ve called and given details The call taker was vague and came across as inexperienced I waited a week and heard nothing so called back They wanted to know again about the changes which suggested they are not effectively on the case An update with a change came but it wasn t as I wanted so replied and again I sit and wait Now concerned my business is incorrectly with correct insurance cover Unfortunately I find this organisation like many other organisations and rather shoddy and disconnected from client consideration I shall continue elsewhere

Received an insurance quote 100 cheaper elswhere same cover who were underwritten by Towergate as insurer but when I ring direct to Towergate it s more How does that work

Cheating the clients who choose to wait to speak to an agent

Phoned on number given to renew policy Choose the payment option and waited whilst listening to music offered a callback but choose to wait then the line went quiet Second call same thing after a longer wait then again and waited until I spoke to a polite agent Having worked in contact centres I know someone was cheating the system to reduce the Calls Waiting Remember some clients have knowledge of the systems so don t cheat Allow me to wait and if you want to improve your call handling increase your agents

Poor Experience

My experience with Towergate was disappointing Trying to insure unoccupied dwelling I couldn t speak to the same person twice which led to an unsatisfactory series of phone calls The quote I finally received was almost double the one I eventually found In the end I had to give up luckily as it turned out as no-one would contact me The experience I had at my next choice was so much better Same person to deal with returned phone calls and a very competitive quote
