Deep South deep disappointment

Our problems with our holiday started before the travel date with the BA strikes granted this was not the fault of travelshere but the communication from them was dreadful and we had to do all the chasing and were given different information than our travel companions Eventually we were given our new flights which were really early from Heathrow and included a connection flight so we decided to pay for a hotel at Heathrow and go the evening before Then we got a call to say the original BA flight had been reinstated so that was good news But decided still to go the night before as we had already paid for the hotel Airport taxi turned up 6 hrs early while we were at work more stress Granted travelsphere rearranged transportation for the correct time after several phone calls Holiday Inn and suites Atlanta was our first stop for one night what a dive it was a filthy low quality hotel that seemed to cater for workmen as apparent at breakfast We arrived early evening and approaching the hotel there were just homeless people laying everywhere which made the area not very welcoming Things never really improved throughout the tour with accommodation being very budget priced The tour bus was very dated and we were told the toilet should not be used unless extreme emergency that s great when your on the thing for a great part of the day In the two weeks the bus was not swept out or cleaned once and we also had to point out to the driver the steel belt was exposed The driving was also to a poor standard The tour manager Dion was absolutely great so no complaints there Excursion were ok except the night out in Nashville at 50 each which was dreadful the food provided was poor and worth less than 10 Drinks were a ridiculous price at 12 dollars for a small wine There was no entertainment except a 15 min line dancing lesson Dion reported back and were told we will all get a 50 back which we did but the evening was ruined We were so excited and looking forward to our holiday and our expectations were not met The holiday cost 5800 for the two of us As food and drink we re not included in most hotels we spent 1800 on food and drink as it was really expensive as we were mainly in cities so not cheap and tips expected for everything

poor customer service from call centre

Like others I write this review with regret as we ve had some good holidays with Travelsphere in the past We were booked for latin wonders of the world in as expected this had to be cancelled due to coronavirus so we rebooked for March 2021 We also had a booking to for Grand tour of Indi booked for October 2020- we also paid extra to stop in Dubai for a few days on the return journy this likewise had to be cancelled so when the rang to tell us about the cancelation we rebooked for October 2021 Was told at the time we rebooked that they couldnt confirm the Dubai add on as airline schedules are only avalible 11 months in advance but if we rebooked we coul sort the add on nearer the time - early november we recived a call from travelsphere saying that they wernt doing add ons any more so they were going to refund the extra we paid for the add on We were not happy but with all thats going on in the world accepted this Come to Feb this year and again the Latin wonders of the world was cancelled due the the virus so I asked about rebooking for next year - was told that they were not running the tour next year so I asked if they were running the india tour next year with a view to moving the lattin wonders tour to Oct and India to early 2022 They said they didnt know Looking round the internet we decided to put together our own South America tour for next year as we wanted to include Bolivia which olny a few companys including travelsphere were doing Now weve made our own arrangements and paid deposits on various parts we find that Travelsphere are doing Latin wonders of the world in 2022 - so thats twice weve been told wrong by travelsphere staff - no they tell me they are going to take upto 3 months to refund me my money

Christmas on the Lisbon coast

A memorable holiday for all the wrong reasons The hotel was soulless No decorations in the lobby not even a Christmas tree The tables in the restaurant were also not decorated and the food consisted of a very average buffet We did not get the festive Portuguese Christmas meals advertised for Christmas Day and Christmas Eve just the same average buffet On Christmas Day breakfast finished at 10 30 and there was no food provided until a glass of port and a few sweet pastries at 17 30 The town was closed save for one coffee shop so there was nowhere to buy lunch We have been on several travelsphere holidays many at Christmas and this is the only one where we were not given a festive time In general on Christmas Day when everything is closed we were taken out on the coach for a scenic tour to break up the day - but not this time we also didn t receive a Christmas present which was always included The hotel was clean and the staff friendly but not suitable for Christmas The travelsphere rep was excellent

Still waiting for a full refund

REF A468350 We had our USA trip in September 2020 cancelled by Travelsphere for obvious reasons They rang me T the end of July and sent an email confirmation that I would be getting a full refund in 90 days time but I ve had nothing We had booked our flights separately and had a full refund from BA within a week I ve travelled with Travelsphere on several occasions and have always rated them but I am very disappointed with the service and this has severely dented my view of them Update on 16 12 2020 still no refund so I have contacted Travelsphere again I had a speedy reply but they are still not able to give me a time frame for my refund I have been waiting nearly five months since the initial contact from Travelsphere to cancel my holiday and inform me that my refund would be 90 days Very disappointed Update - 02 01 2021 Travelsphere contacted me a month ago for my bank account details but still no sign of a refund

Customer service do not take complaints

Customer service do not take complaints seriouslyThey are a jokeOrganised trip to a rose garden in Italy and there were no roses only dead ones and barren flower bedsHalf a day wasted with travelling

Payment link doesn t work

I ve been trying to pay with my debit card for a month and the payment goes into the pending transactions on my bank account but never seems to get paid getting bored trying now

What a let down Still waiting Finally hurrah

Booked with them loads of time about 10 liked the holidays so we think we are good customers Travelsphere due to covid cancelled our holiday in May So we requested refund of holiday money Forget the 14 day rule for refunds we are now at 101 days and counting What to do -Have e-mailed numerous times - no response Have tried to call on various numbers - can t get thoughAppalled -Travelsphere - customer service please please can you sort this out Thanks for your response on 16th Sept - my refund has still not happened Tried to phone have e-mailed REFUND PLEASE Refund finally now received on 29 September So May to September not 14 days

A poorly planned holiday and a poor tour manager

I found the tour manager Joanne to be condescending and domineering an example of this was when on the morning of departure she went in to the room were breakfast was being served and said to come and join the group for departure I was perfectly capable of doing this on my myself Also I feel the itinerary was poorly planned on the return leg I would have much rather have gone back to London via Paris than via Lille because this meant a walk with luggage from 1 Lille railway station to the other

Still awaiting refund

Holiday to Andalucia cancelled on 18 May 2020 Refund requested and was advised this would take up to 90 days Heard nothing more from Travelsphere so sent email last week and received automatic reply indicating they were very busy dealing with people who were due to travel in the coming weeks What about those who were due to travel back in June and have been pushed to one side Come on Travelsphere - 90 days is totally unacceptable despite the pandemic before customers can expect a refund of their hard earned cash

A468964 - 120 DAYS STILL WAITING FOR REFUNDFirst experience with travelsphere- Trip to chicago all that jazz paid and booked dec 2019 for oct 2020 was cancelled as expected in sep 2020 Prompt email and said please allow 90 days for refund Seemed a long time but under current circumstances thought ok Now 120 days with no response to email
