Not Great

US Service Animals as an entity was very helpful I feel that the therapist I spoke with and myself did not have the best experience I did not feel comfortable enough to talk about my experiences resulting in disapproval of an ESA letter I felt that some of the questions were insensitive and made me feel additional stress resulting in having difficulty communicating how I feel The therapist later reached out to me to discuss our differences resulting in an amicable compromise I very much appreciated her efforts to reconcile My recommendation is to ensure you feel comfortable enough to describe your circumstances Stress and anxiety can come in different forms at different levels and each individual copes with those feelings differently I don t believe there is one right way to handle stress and anxiety and you have to be able to describe how you experience stress and anxiety and how your animal helps you cope with it

Unsympathetic doctor

Cody was very kind to me and answered any questions I had The doctor Stephanie White however was very rude and on edge the whole conversation When I didn t respond fast enough to her questions she would say I m dodging the question when I m trying to find the right words I told her I get decent sleep because of my dog being there with me and she ultimately deemed me ineligible for that reason As I try to explain that I can t sleep without him she dismisses anything I had to say as if she was trying to end the call asap She does clarify to my that she believes I do have anxiety but not to big extent As I m ending the call I m crying hyperventilating and needed my inhaler I don t understand how a doctor in this field could be so cold to their patients especially those dealing with anxiety and depression Shame

I was sent the wrong size ESA collar

I was sent the wrong size ESA collar and leash When I sent them back I wanted to return the leash for a refund but I wanted to exchange the collar for a smaller size I filled out separate return exchange forms and they mistakenly considered both items as returns They did refund my purchase for the full amount So the refund wasn t a problem but I didn t get the collar I wanted in the size I requested

Overview of US Service Animals

US Service Animals (usserviceanimals.org) serves as a comprehensive national resource dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities who rely on animal assistance. The organization's primary mission is to simplify the process of registering and certifying service animals, emotional support animals (ESAs), and psychiatric service animals, while providing essential education on legal rights and responsibilities.

Core Services and Offerings

The website functions as a central hub for several key services designed to assist handlers and their animals. A primary feature is its official registration system, which allows users to create a documented record of their animal in a nationally recognized database. US Service Animals places a strong emphasis on public education, which is evident in its extensive library of informational content. The site provides clear, accessible explanations of the distinct differences between service animals, emotional support animals, and therapy animals. This is crucial for helping the public and businesses understand the varying legal protections afforded to each category under laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Fair Housing Act (FHA). The resource center covers a wide array of practical topics, including:

  • Legal rights regarding housing, air travel, and public access.
  • Step-by-step processes for registration and certification.
  • Guidelines for businesses on how to appropriately interact with service animal teams.
  • Species-specific information, extending beyond dogs to include miniature horses and other animals.
