Peels off Plasticky Finish

We had a colour match done in Valspar a strong orange colour for a home office Went on OK took about 2 coats plus touch ups which is fairly standard HOWEVER has started to lift and bubble in some places and when I tried to sand it down to touch up the paint I pulled at the edges of the loose paint and it began to peel off in a big plasticky sheet Doesnt sand well at all and you can still see the edge of the paint line where it has peeled away Won t be buying again

Paint Ok but B Q mixed wrong colour Update not going to be refunded apparently paint we purchased is not included in the guarantee so a word of warning be very careful what you buy - rubbish compan

Paint Ok but B Q mixed wrong colour went back to change due to adverts saying if your not happy they will refund exchange and was not our fault - we were told we had to purchase another tin of paint and then apply to valspar to refund us for the first has cost us 50 - we are still waiting to see if they will refund us for the first tin of pain the customer service care for valspar is not good at all and they do not rush to get in touch very poor - will not be buying again and would not recommend to anyone

As a decorator I discovered Valspar a few years back I had mixed feelings at first The lowest level paint in the range is not great The premium V700 blend though is gernally good paint Solid performance and good to apply in emulsion with good results The wood and metal is debatable depending on your purpose I found it lacks body in some colours and is not very tough and can take far too many coats even with good prep Pay more you get higher quality paint Makes sense right

I got them to make - up a yellow to paint an interior wooden door Lovely colour very happy with that The major problem to me was the speed of drying I used a brush and when I painted a small section then realised I needed to re stroke a bit I ended up dragging the paint on the door as it was drying so quickly Either need to add something to paint to slow the drying speed a bit or paint very quickly I don t like using rollers on doors but maybe that s better with this paint

Change the lids

No issues with the paint but my god the lid is an absute nightmare I have arthritis in my hands but can usually manage most things Not these lids though PLEASE do something about them Even the guy who served me in the shop said they were really difficult to remove

Container designer - You re fired

Wish I d read these reviews first Bought a 5 Litre tin of V500 at B Q to paint bedroom wall No problem with the paint so far as I am painting over a very similar colour of another make As previous reviews state the lid is virtually impossible to remove as indicated on the lid I am 80 yrs old and am fairly adept at removing difficult lids but had to resort to using a screwdriver to eventually prise the lid off Valspar - never again

Having used every brand under the sun

Having used every brand under the sun and being underwhelmed with the finish and the amount of coats needed I decided to try valspar I needed a colour match So I got 10L mixed at b and q 85pounds this stuff puts the price of petrol in the shade Whilst it is pretty thick it doesn t dry uniformly and reading the tub it says not to water it down or thin it It has got quite good coverage but its the uneven drying that s a problem therefore patchy Oh and price Having spoken to customer services they dealt with my problem I was sent some vouchers It was actually nice not being fobbed off like some companies treat customers who have issues do I will be using Valspar again Thank you to customer services

Lovely colour but patchy

I tried Valspar because of the great colour range Using the premium paint in a very dark blue I ve done 4 coats so far and still quite patchy in places Very odd never had such issues with other brands Unfortunately I don t think I would use again

Great customer service but paint colours don t match cards

I had Valspar paint mixed and purchased at B Q Overall I am disappointed as all three of the colours I had mixed did not match the colour on the sample cards The largest amount was refunded as a mis- tint Customer service was great with this - quick and direct We decided to use the other colours In hindsight however this was a mistake as the bathroom feature wall colour is off from what we expected and quite garish It will have to be repainted with something else

15 Year Masonry Paint smooth - some issues

Great choice of colours from the mixer at B Q Carefully examined various shade cards in daylight and chose Spice of Life a sort of dark reddish brown Good coverage on cement and blockwork with brush or roller Big but - the colour is not true After two top coats it is more purple than brown We were warned that B Q do not accept returns on mixed paint so it looks like we are stuck with a wall we don t really like
