Victorian Dusk for the win

First time using Valspar paint but wanted a dark but opulant finish to the bedroom gritty grey with a deep black blue and after many samples Valspar came through and the 2nd coat of Victorian Dusk gave the finish I wanted Also grabbed their roller it was a better pile than the Harris ones I usually buy and laid the paint on in a more uniform way I d recommend Valspar any day a bit more expensive than some but worth it

Great paint

Great paint We ve used the interior satin finish V700 product despite hating our colour choice for a bespoke wardrobe doors I shall be buying it again to rectify our mistake It covers very well over one coat of a primer undercoat only just needing a second coat of satin for a perfect finish It was applied with a Prodec advanced mini roller microfibre sleeve and leaves an awesome finish

Great product easy to clean

Regularly buy this paint and I am happy with the finish in general One issue i had with the paint was resolved so after a push up the management levels It would be nice to not have to had to push them to correct the issue hence the 4 stars but the paint itself is used in all my rooms and has a really nice finish when done by people who can decorate better than me Great to clean with a sponge and water when marked or dirty

Do your research before you buy

I am a seasoned decorater of walls and furniture and ran my own business so I know what I am doing I ve used all of the branded paints and each one has given me issues of some sort at some point especially when using certain pigments Daughter recently bought valspar for the living room Silk on matt walls was great soaked in gave even coverage and looked like the colour on the card Moved on to the bedroom Two dark colours colours were same as card went on to matt walls one which was a dark blue 3 which were white Great coverage 2 coats required no stickiness or peeling Bedroom 3 Firstly I would like to point out that if you choose a colour from their online selection be very aware that when it goes on the wall it will not be like it says on the online swatch I ordered pickled beet and all I will say is it is not the colour shown Now this particular pigment has taken 3 coats and could really do with a 4th This type of pigment in the paint industry is renowned for taking multiple coats to cover It has been applied ontop of a silk paint and has left a sticky residue Now I have had this happen with other more expensive paints and there are a whole host of reasons why this happens It basically means it hasn t cured properly I have had Farrow and Ball and little green paint paints that have taken weeks to cure Once cured it is as tough as nails It is down to the surface and environmental conditions how thick you apply the paint and the time you leave between coats The other tin was a dark green and was applied ontop of silk fine and just required 2 coats with a third touch up in places with no sticky residue Would I buy again Yes Would I recommend Depends if they new what they were doing and understood paint and how to apply it

I liked it

So I absolutely loved a colour from Farrow and Ball but after reading reviews I decided to drop by B Q and see if they could mix the colour Valsper and decided to go with it Ordered 5 litres and then read the reviews thereafter so I was bricking it So I have a 4m x 3 5m room and was wondering how many coats I would need thinking I was gonna have to apply 3 to 4 coats I was surprised I ordered the basic washable coat and it went on a dream and only needed two coats happy Now I guess I m gonna see if it fades or not Let s hope not I thought it was better than dulux walls and ceilings Good luck

first coat of paint on house exterior

first coat of paint on house exterior was storm coat-satin white VALSPAR IS VERY GOOD PAINT valspar high hide white-sounded good for second coat-white -painted second coat-high hide white has a gray tint messed up my day-any answer bought it at lowes- went back to lowes they opened a cane of base white and a can of valspar high hide --white - before opening them-people in the paint dept said there both the same--a lady in the dept came up and said there are different tones of white-opened the cans she was right-said one is a soft white-next to a business white card it looks grey

I ve picked up the express coat for my

I ve picked up the express coat for my home renovation I usually use Fukui trade but the price is high so have the express coat a go initially I thought it wasn t good but to my surprise when it drys it s better than first thought I like that you don t have to water it down You do have to give it more than dulux trade but if you don t mind spending time on an extra coat the results are great It drys pretty quick and if you get a semi decent roller it spreads great overall I m happy with the results and for the savings it s a no brainier for a budget paint
