Honestly I don t know what people are barking on about this paint being bad because it s not The reason your not getting good results is because you don t know how to paint properly which is why you shouldn t do it yourself unless you know what your doing which most people don t and that is why they don t get good results it s as simple as that

Ignore the 1 star reviews

I was a bit taken aback by the 1 star reviews for this paint because I absolutely love it I painted my daughter s bedroom in a pretty lilac mauve shade Lyre Strings and chose the hardwearing Valspar Premium with a matt finish as it s for a teenager and the walls are not perfect The paint is a good consistency and has great coverage It doesn t splatter off the roller either which is brilliant I did one coat and it probably didn t actually need the second but I prefer to always do 2 coats in case I have inadvertently missed anywhere It now looks fabulous and because I used the matt the eye is not drawn to any of the walls imperfections It s amazing paint which I intend to use throughout the house so please don t let the 1 star reviews put you off

Don t understand the bad reviews

Used this paint all over my house from moving in 3 years ago Recently renovated the loft and have used it again It s brilliant to work with Even on misted plaster the paint went on even in one coat It patches really well and also is as scrubbable as promised The paint from 3 years ago looks as good now as it did the day it was painted Genuinely do not understand the negative reviews A successful paint finish is 90 preparation If you re not sanding and washing down your surfaces and leaving to dry your paint will peel no matter what you use Shame to see some comments here But interesting that professional decorators rate it very good And I d agree with that Thanks Valspar

Enjoyed using this paint

Enjoyed using this paint Consistency was great not too thick and not too watery so was easy to work with Did need 3 coats may have been 2 if more liberal when rolling but expected this as it was a dark orange onto white walls No marks can be seen when touching the wall so all good so far

Always worked for us

Shame about the negative reviews but we have always found this brand to do a good job We have painted out bathroom bright pink and our sons room turquoise using Valspa both of which needed 2 coats and look fantastic Will be using them again for our living room

Re-ordered my custom colour in the Premium range effortlessly Because of the expense I bought top of the range rollers My God the finish is unbelievable Clearly with integrated primer the result was amazing with phenomenal depth of colour Quality colour quality finish something that s worth paying for Thank you

Really good paint don t knock it

I popped to B Q last week to find some nice paint for 3 rooms Valspar had a variety of colours I checked the reviews on here and it looked pretty bad but there was some positive ones where reviewers couldn t understand why people left poor feedback So I went ahead and purchased 2 premium matt and a normal sheen To be honest the coverage and quality was really good I did 2 coats even though 1 was enough and it came out really well I don t understand why it s made out to be so bad unless you re terrible painter lol

Suspicious reviews

I recently purchased this paint the premium version and got home to check the reviews and my heart sunk I couldn t believe I d spent a lot of money and time to pick the perfect paint for my kitchen and bathroom I went ahead and painted anyway in the hope it would be okay and it was The coverage was great and colour was fantastic The only patchy parts were down to my own poor rolling technique which was evident in one area of the wall but most walls didn t need a 2nd coat I gave a 2nd coat for good measure and it s perfect I couldn t be happier I can t understand all the negative reviews on this paint it s almost suspicious

Best paint I ve ever used no drips no splashes perfect colour perfect coverage fantastic choices mixed in store in b q I ve now done my whole house in it highly recommend Totally washable hard wearing

Been using valspar paint for years now

Been using valspar paint especially their emulsion and masonry paint for years Im absolutely shocked to see the amount of 1 star reviews Had nothing but great experiences using this paint for professional paint jobs and even in my own home quality product with a colour choice that you wont find with any other brands These bad reviews seem to be from amatuers fustrated with their poor painting skills and looking for a place to complain
