high levels of stress and anxiety

my experience all in all was ok but the amount of anxiety i had because i read the reviews and i got my tickets very last minute makes me not want to buy from there again yes it worked out in the end but the stress was too much and i don t suggest it

Weird system

Me and my friend bought tickets for two shows back-to-back which according to them were confirmed and on their way For the first night they kept delaying the arrival date They then messaged us that they couldn t get their hands on them Their customer service was actually quite good and helpful and we got the money back on the day after It honestly makes no sense to me that they re selling tickets they haven t actually got their hands on For the second show we instantly got the tickets and they worked out just fine no issues Cudos to the customer service who actually did their best and tried to help us as quickly as they could The price-margain is still too high and they should restructure their business-plan

Viagogo returned funds after bad experience

Thieves fraudsters and awful company They sold 2 fake tickets for Lazio - Atalanta to me 87 and guaranteed they are ok Italian police escorted me to the police station and held me almost an hour before they released me and sent home I wrote 10 times to Viagogo s customer support and they are just ignoring my messages Stay away from this thieves Today is 23 02 and likewise I wrote bad regarding my bad experience at the stadium I must say that Viagogo refund money to my account and sent 45 voucher on top to apologize for what happened They improved my perception of their company regarding customer support since I was sure that nothing will happen

A Bit Painful

Bought vastly inflated tickets for Pendulum at Brixton Academy - seated due to my having Fibromyalgia and not being able to stand for long periods Had to chase for tickets as they were late but the download was sent through and they were fine Venue was changed to Ally Pally and we were horrified to find on arrival that it was a standing only gig and we were pretty much forced to stand in a venue wide moshpit - this was not mentioned at any point We made it work on the night but it was physically very painful Complained after and they have given a full refund so fair play - just wish it had been a better experience from the start

Tickets were fine We had a blast

We booked two tickets to a sold out Lovejoy gig in Glasgow I didn t know about the reputation of Viagogo until after booking Obviously I was a nervous wreck The cost of the tickets was insane At least 4 times the face value We spent two weeks worrying about whether the e-tickets would arrive I kept in contact with the customer service team via the website and to be fair to them they communicated professionally and promptly The nerve racking thing was we didn t get the tickets until the day of the gig which was worrying however I called Viagogo and they reassured me that I d get valid tickets etc we did get valid tickets and had no problems getting into the venue and had a brilliant time The only reason I knocked off 2 stars is because of the stress caused by such late delivery of tickets Either way I do understand that ultimately it s up to the seller to release them I can t speak for other people s experience We had a good one However I m not sure I can cope with this sort of stress

Bought a few tickets for festivals and

Bought a few tickets for festivals and each time the tickets worked The annoying part is their price which always changes when accessing the website Also the price is not final the unnecessary overcharges and fake taxes are annoying

was so so so so worried about this site

was so so so so worried about this site after buying the tickets before reviewing we bought 2 hslot wembley n4 tickets on here months and months before the concert and the tickets didn t arrive till 2 days before but other than that we got very very lucky the tickets were legit we got straight through the gates and had the best time at Wembley but don t buy from here it was so stressful thinking 99 I would not get in

Worked out fine but all felt a bit uncertain

So the good bit is that I got the tickets I used viagogo to order two comedy tickets for a 40th birthday present The tickets arrived four days before the gig unfortunately after the birthday and I did spend a few weeks wondering if I was ever going to get them I paid about double the face value but it is a resale site so that s a risk you take I suppose The up side - the tickets arrived and all went well The down side - they didn t arrive until really close to the event and had a different name on them so there was definitely some anxiety that this birthday present was going to fall through I think I would use viagogo again if I was buying tickets for myself and couldn t get them from the venue or other face- value site but probably not again for a present as it s not a great look to give someone their present late and with the name of some random person on them

Frequently Asked Questions

Viagogo is a global online secondary ticket marketplace. It connects buyers and sellers of tickets for live entertainment events such as concerts, sports matches, theatre shows, and festivals. The platform operates via viagogo.co.uk and functions as a fan-to-fan resale marketplace, not as an official primary ticket seller or box office.

Sellers list tickets they wish to resell on the Viagogo platform, setting their own price. These listings are then displayed to potential buyers. Prices are determined by sellers and can differ from the original face value based on demand and other factors. Viagogo charges a service fee to buyers on top of the ticket price, and sellers pay a commission fee upon a successful sale.

Viagogo offers a wide range of event categories. These include Concerts & Festivals for music events, Sports for matches and tournaments, Theatre & Arts for shows and performances, and Family & Attractions for experiences like comedy shows and theme parks. The inventory is searchable and extensive.

No, Viagogo is not an official box office or primary ticket seller. It is a secondary marketplace where individuals resell tickets they have purchased elsewhere. The platform facilitates these transactions between third-party sellers and buyers.

About Viagogo

Viagogo: A Global Secondary Ticket Marketplace

Viagogo operates as a prominent global online marketplace, connecting buyers and sellers of tickets for live entertainment events. Based in the UK and accessible via viagogo.co.uk, the platform facilitates the resale of tickets for a vast array of events, including concerts, theatre performances, sports matches, and festival experiences. Its core function is to provide a digital space where ticket holders can sell tickets they can no longer use, and fans can search for and purchase tickets to events that may be sold out through primary outlets.

How the Marketplace Operates

The website operates on a straightforward principle. Sellers list their tickets on the platform, setting their own price. Viagogo then displays these listings to potential buyers. It is important for users to understand that Viagogo is a secondary market, meaning it is not an official box office or primary ticket seller for the events listed. Prices are determined by individual sellers and can be significantly higher or lower than the original face value, influenced by demand, timing, and seat location. The platform charges a service fee to buyers on top of the ticket price, and sellers are also subject to a commission fee upon a successful sale.

Event Categories and User Experience

Viagogo.co.uk features an extensive and searchable inventory. Users can browse events by major categories such as:

  • Concerts & Festivals:Tickets for music artists across all genres and major music festivals.
  • Sports:Access to football matches, rugby games, tennis tournaments, motor racing, and other sporting events.
  • Theatre & Arts:Listings for West End shows, musicals, plays, ballet, and opera performances.
  • Family & Attractions:Tickets for theme parks, comedy shows, and other live experiences.

The website and associated mobile apps are designed for ease of use, with search functions, interactive seating maps for many venues, and detailed event information. Customers create an account to manage purchases and sales, with customer service support available for inquiries.

Key Considerations for Buyers and Sellers

Prospective users should be aware of several important aspects of the service. The platform offers a Viagogo Guarantee, which states that buyers will receive valid tickets for their event on time or will be provided with comparable or better tickets or a refund. For sellers, the guarantee implies protection against fraudulent buyers. However, as with any secondary market, customers are advised to:

  • Research the face value of the ticket before purchasing.
  • Understand the total cost, including all fees, before completing a transaction.
  • Review the specific ticket delivery method, as options can range from e-tickets to express courier services.
  • Check the seller's notes regarding seat details, as listings are for re-sold tickets which may have restrictions.

The secondary ticket market, including platforms like Viagogo, is subject to regulations and scrutiny in various jurisdictions, particularly concerning pricing transparency and consumer rights. The company emphasizes its role in providing a secure platform for fan-to-fan transactions, ensuring both parties are protected through its guarantee and verification processes.

Conclusion

In summary, Viagogo.co.uk serves as a comprehensive secondary marketplace for live event tickets, offering a wide selection for buyers and a sales venue for sellers. Its model is built on market-driven pricing and a fan-to-fan exchange, backed by a customer guarantee. Users engaging with the platform are encouraged to conduct transactions with an awareness of the secondary market nature, ensuring they make informed decisions regarding pricing, fees, and ticket validity for their chosen live entertainment experiences.
