When spending over 6000 each you can only hope that your tour company is as good as their reputation Wendy Wu certainly was We were fortunate to have a group of 28 wonderful companions and the most fabulous Tour Guide in Jimmy who ensured everything went as smoothly as possible Every aspect of the trip was covered to the last detail so no need to worry about anything The hotels ranged from basic to amazing but all were clean and comfortable Our favourite being the Fujisan Mishima Tokyu Hotel which provided one of my personal highlights of the tour - the rooftop onsen watching the sunrise over Mount Fuji The Experience Japan Tour takes in an awful lot with little free time but we loved it The Snow Monkey Park was incredible If I were to be very picky my only criticism is the time in Tokyo as I would have liked to have seen more of the actual city Retrospectively we would have opted out of the visit to the National Museum and the Skytree and done our own thing or alternatively extended our stay We were exceptionally lucky with the weather although cherry season was late this year so the blossoms were not in full bloom The food throughout the tour was very good albeit the breakfasts varied somewhat So to sum up this is a fabulous tour and Wendy Wu is highly recommended You may even be lucky enough to have Jimmy as your guide

We have just returned from an excellent trip Japan Uncovered Blessed by outstanding weather and in cherry blossom season this trip covered all the major sites that we most wanted to see in Japan Our guide Mina was fabulous Patient knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour Her English was excellent Our group of 27 included English Irish and Australian participants A few of us had food requests and allergies which Mina took time to understand and to ensure that the restaurants were aware of Before embarking on a trip such as this though I would urge people to do their homework This is a trip designed to cover as many peoples interests as possible Therefore there will be occasions when you like certain activities more than others This is not a personalised trip This also applies to the food Sometimes you will eat at fairly high end restaurants and sometimes the equivalent of a cafe The food is predominantly Japanese because that is what people eat in Japan I am not a huge fan of Japanese food but I tried everything and I was never hungry The days are long and there is often quite a bit of walking So when it is stated that a good level of fitness is required that is what they mean On the first day we walked over 20 000 steps as well as travelling by coach and boat and recovering from jet lag English is not widely spoken but with a smile and a sense of humour most things can be communicated We were happy with all of the hotels that we stayed in but Japanese hotel rooms tend to be small and rather warm There often isn t a bar to relax in in the evenings but the vending machines are excellent We will definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for other Wendy Wu tours but I think that this one will be hard to beat both in terms of cost and the amount of Japan that we were able to see Just a couple of thousand photos to go through now

Absolutely fantastic experience with Wendy Wu s Best of Borneo tour Local guides were fantastic Saw orangutan in the rehabilitation centres AND in the wild Saw Pygmy elephants rhinoceros hornbills and Sun Bears plus crocodiles and proboscis monkeys Everything so smooth and easy Group of 17 comprising Aussies Kiwis and Brits - 5 couples the rest of us singles Everyone very friendly Great for all food to be included only needed to take spending money Cannot recommend them highly enough Best holiday I ve ever had

I have yet to travel with Wendy Wu but untill now I have nothing but praise for them Professional friendly and very helpful even when I ve asked a couple of trivial questions As far as customer services go I think they are doing a great job I work in the Service Industry and some people have unfair expectations It s very hard to please everyone I have read many reviews good and bad but when travelling to distant Countriies that have very different lifestyles one does have to be open minded have a sense of adventure and some humour Wendy Wu do mention this I will review my India by Train holiday when I return Until now I m just enjoying the excitement of my forth coming adventure

Well well well truly didn t know what to expect Our first visit to the People s Republic of China From start to finish was an absolute triumph Arrived tired after a long journey from the U K to be met by Albert Chinese name unpronounceable his words not mine extremely helpful young man for whom nothing was too much trouble Provided us with much needed information about the city before dropping us off at our hotel in Beijing The day after our unscheduled arrival we came out a day early was great used the underground system A bit wary as our mandarin cantonese was nonexistent Really straightforward all the signs had helpful English translations The system was beautifully clean as were the trains and the stations The next day we met other fellow travellers who made up our group of nine Then we met our guide for the first part of the journey Michael what a thoroughly lovely guy His English was impeccable and he immediately understood the English sense of humour Extremely knowledgable about his own countries history and more surprisingly world current events We were treated like royalty and Michael made sure everyone felt comfortable in a land of strange sights smells and sounds Tian anmen Square followed by the Forbidden Palace was an orgy of unforgettable sights and sound with essential commentary from our friend Michael The following day after a long journey by comfortable coach we arrived at the remarkable Great Wall The area we visited was accessed by a short boat journey across a man made reservoir set in beautiful countryside Much of the wall in the area we visited had obviously been recently restored but that didn t affect the magnificent structure and historic site in any way On our way back we visited the jade factory were we were shown the beautiful jade jewellery and shown how to distinguish between fake and genuine jade Journeyed via the bullet train to Xi an Met by Sally who seemed a bit severe but turned out to be an absolute darling Excellent English again lots of useful information and advice Sights and sounds including the Terracotta Army quite remarkable Our evening in Xian was an extraordinary one mixing with smiling happy locals who wanted selfies with the westerners Unforgettable Then onto Shanghai unfortunately not enough time to explore an incredible city The scale and size of the cities we visited were awe inspiring Cannot recommend it enough if you get the opportunity don t pass it up Loads more detail but not enough space Amazing experience happy to repeat in comofortable surroundings with happy smiling people

We had been to Hong Kong Beijing before but the Grand Tour was a whole new level of understanding of China The trip organisation by Wendy Wu was faultless our national guide David He was exceptional showing patience understanding where needed plus a great knowledge of China He worked hard to satisfy Gluten Veggy food needs not always easy with this style of meal service Local guides in each town were also really good Hotels varied from good to great with priority usually being location The Yangshuo hotel for example was a bit older but we stepped straight out onto West St And breakfast was simple but had an exceptional view There is a lot of travel involved with 3 each internal flights trains but Chinese trains airports put the UK to shame Overall the food was at least good sometimes great Breakfast did not always include a wide Western selection but then we were foreigners in China - How many foreign breakfast options do UK hotels have Bus management was brilliant a snap of the electronic fingers it was there We had not done a follow the flag holiday or used Wendy Wu before We will definitely do both again Thanks again David If you are considering a long trip in China for the first time lessons we learned Grand tour lunch dinner is 26 days of Chinese food with set dishes off a lazy susan except for a few packed lunches the Yangtze cruise Some of the dishes may not be to your taste be flexible You will need to handle your luggage journeys involve suitcases escalators airports stations Out walking at night in China - this is the safest I have ever felt either at home or travelling Don t think too hard about the tip pot it just works saving time hassle Alipay attached to your UK credit card is super quick easy to use if you have an active phone Install Wechat to contact family in case you cannot get Whatsapp to work basically the same Family will also have to install VPN s did not reliably work But they do have 30 day money back warranty I tried Express Nord If your phone accepts e-sim get one Ours gave us access to Western websites with no VPN and always worked You may be sharing China with lots of domestic tourists check when their major holidays are The Yangtze cruise was great we are happy we did not upgrade either room or meal options Upgraders were equally happy with their choice - do not worry about it Totally recommended Paul Tracy

Booked last year to visit Egypt and the pyramids and we were not disappointed Everything was organised to perfection We were met at thr airport by the rep eho had already organised our visas and saw us through immigration All our hotels were of 5 quality and all food was delicious The cruise ship on the Nile was equal as good The rep stayed with us for the entire trip and her knowledge base was amazing despite her young years The second rep was equally amazing and we needed for nothing Everything ran very smoothly Please note that this tour is NOT for the faint hearted as it is very full itinerary and may be a bit too rushed However you did see most of the history that Egypt had to offer The only down note was that we did have to chase up the flight details etc 2 weeks before we left which was a bit worrying

Hi I would just like to say thank you so much to Wendy Wu Tours we have just come back from Escorted China tour in your hands from the Great Wall Terracotta Army Dumpling making shows bullet train Xian dressing up and seeing all the markets at night and local heritage Nick Liu and Jenny who were our tour guides were amazing and went above and beyond for all our party of 17 Even when we couldn t land in Shanghai due to the Typhoon Nick bought us all food and a drink sorted out where we were and what to do along with all the back office staff much appreciated we were on another bullet train then a coach to get us to the hotel so we could catch the ship for around Japan the next day I would highly recommend Wendy Wu Tours and most certainly Nick and Jenny I cannot believe that someone went out of their way to make our holiday that i d saved up for for 50 years so special from learning your history culture and everything else All I can say is thank you thank you thank you you have made an old lady very happy

I was recommended to use Wendy Wu by a friend who goes to China regularly on business We had a tour to Bejing Xian and Shanghai in October 2023 What really made the trip so great were the guides in each place Lilly Bejing Alison Xian and Dawn in Shanghai At each location we were met transferred to the Hotel and the guides checked or room to make sure we were happy In Shanghai we saw 3 rooms before we settled on a quiet room The tours themselves were fabulous not enough space here to explain But again the guides are knowledgeable and know how to get you in and out the best way I should also mention the drivers all excellent and often got us right to the door of the attractions and knew good places from which to pick us up

Today I had to contact Wendy Wu customer services in regards to a tour I am going on in March with them but booked through Trailfinders By now I should have received my chineses visa application forms but Trailfinders say they ve not received them and then seem to have a problem with having contact with Wendy Wu I m told the forms were sent on the 17th December but Trailfinders deny this and instead of offering to chase this up leave it for me to do I spoke to Debbie option 4 on the Wendy Wu telephone number and she was absolutely amazing and calmed my anxiety and concerns Within 15 minutes she had emailed me all the paperwork direct and I am so grateful to her Wendy Wu you have an excellent member of staff here who really does care about customer service
