Loved our trip with Wendy Wu to Japan and our guide Akiko was outstanding She was unflappable patient intelligent and knowledgeable Unfortunately we got off to a bad start as we landed in Beijing with only over an hour to make our connection to Tokyo I am 77 but very fit and as there were queues at immigration and security we only made our flight by a few minutes Our cases unfortunately did not although they were sent on and we received them first thing next morning We should have had more time to make it to our connection and if anyone who was not so able as myself who had to rush to get on the plane they would have collapsed I also requested that the other party I travelled with receive final documents and travel wallet This was requested twice to no avail Although the booking was made by myself for both of us I feel that as we had single rooms and paid extra for the single accommodation we should have been entitled to this courtesy

We have completed two tours with Wendy Wu The first was Delights of China which we did last year and the second was Highlights of India which we did in March this year We booked the India tour on the basis that we had been very impressed with our previous experience in China At the time of booking the India tour we were quoted a price of around 4200 per person which seemed a little high However it included 3 internal flights all meals entry fees etc and visas After some negotiation it was reduced to around 4000 per person with a free flight upgrade We accepted the offer and booked the tour in June It was sold to us on the basis that it consisted of three internal flights a train journey and some coach travel Around November we received an email informing us that the tour had been re arranged and the internal flights had been reduced to two Upon arriving in Delhi our tour guide informed us that one of the remaining internal flights from Khajuraho to Varanasi had been cancelled due to airline problems and would be replaced by a 12 hour coach journey This bus ride was a long and uncomfortable experience with no planned stops Worse still the remaining activities in Varanasi were hectic with no free time in between to rest On the positive side the remainder of the tour was generally very good with nice hotels and visits to many interesting sites Our tour guide Hemal was excellent re-arranging the visits to ensure that we covered all the itinerary as smoothly as possible His knowledge of all the places visited on the tour was outstanding However I do feel a little cheated and disappointed that we paid a top price based on a more comfortable mixture of air and road travel only to find that we spent the majority of the time in a coach on some of the worst roads in the world To add insult to injury the same tour is now advertised at around 3600per person with a free flight upgrade Don t get me wrong we enjoyed the places that we visited and got on well with the other people in our tour group but road travel in India is not the most relaxing experience in any sense of the word

We have returned from a 16 day Wonders of China tour The tour was amazing led by an incredibly knowledgeable competent and friendly guide Ivan He managed the whole trip with professionalism and a real sense of humour and quickly came to know each member of the group He was always on hand to help in any way he could We were met at every stop by local guides who covered the sights in their own area Lily at Guilin was such a delight and approached each activity with great enthusiasm The trip itself was comprehensive and covered such sights as the Great Wall the Terracotta Soldiers the pandas at Chongqing Zoo and a wonderful day trip on The River Li There was such a varied selection of sight-seeing opportunities some part of the tour and others optional that every taste was catered for Our only disappointment was with the organisation in the London office We were originally sent the wrong dates on our booking and our passports following the visa applications were sent back to the wrong address Our visit to the Chinese Visa centre was rearranged by Wendy Wu and my husband was given a phone call to inform him that he had failed to attend his original appointment Although I was assured that would not miss out we were given flights to Beijing which meant that even without the delays which we encountered at Hong Kong Airport we would have missed the Welcome meeting with the rest of our party Overall the treatment we received prior to the trip was poor whereas once in China it was great

I booked a tailor made 16 day trip to China with Wendy wu tours and it was very good I thoroughly researched all hotels room types first on trip advisor and all hotels were really good and what I was expecting The excursions I had tailored to exactly what I wanted to do see and these were also very good We had food included in our tour and it was all plentiful and of a very high standard in fact we have not eaten so much on holiday before My only complaints were with the drivers - some were absolute maniacs terrified us and one ran deliberately over a dog which was extremely distressing Wendy wu tours rang up at every different destination to speak to the tour guide and us to make sure we were happy and anything we weren t happy with was dealt with the and then Overall an excellent tour around China which I thought was good value for money

Have booked for China next year and although can t predict the future Wendy Wu has been great keeping us up to date Let s see what next year brings

I have just come back from the Jewels of Japan tour with Wendy Wu tours The tour was very well organised and ran smoothly It was full on and every day was busy but we saw so much and I thought it was fantastic Our guide Inage was excellent he really cared about our experience and made sure everything went to plan and was very helpful he also had a very good sense of humour The hotels we stayed in were of a high standard and very comfortable The only criticism was that we did not have any choice in what we ate for lunch and dinner and although the food was of a high standard some choice would have been welcomed

Hi We recently finished a bus tour of Vietnam We had a great experience travelling around this beautiful exotic country Starting with the most experience tour guide Mr Lap He made our tour very enjoyable with a great sense of humor passionate about what he does he took very good care of the group got out of his way to help very informative great knowledge of his country s history up to date with world news Lap gave us so much information and from the beginning made us feel very comfortable We traveled with a very nice group of people The food was not always good but in general the restaurants were very good One can not please everybody as we all come from different backgrounds Accommodation was very good nice hotels cleaned and people were very nice and welcoming We could do another tour with Wendy Wu

We had the time of our lives A great crowd to be with and a great guide A very full on experience and living out of a suitcase a new experience it was like posh backpacking The people were wonderful and friendly We had one bad experience at the 5 star diamond stars Hotel in Ben Tre where the staff were hopelessly untrained and I believe easily manipulated by the management to cheat the customers on their alcohol bills I would advise Wendy wu to drop them from the itinerary That aside the rest of the experience was memorable and well worth the money

We were really excited for this tour as we have previously been on a WW tour which was 5 that was a group of 10 however this experience left a lot to be desired Firstly there was 29 in our group which far too many making travelling in a large group quite uncomfortable and rather hectic at timesWe left the UK on the morning of the 26th January which Wendy Wu classed as our first day therefore our first evening of our holiday was the flight we finally arrived at THE Park hotel New Delhi at 9 25am on the 27th Over 24 hours travelling plus time difference Upon arrival we were told that our room would not be available until standard booking in time of 3pm and we had to wait at the pool bar very exhausted as Wendy Wu had not booked a room for occupancy any earlier but surely this should have not been so as the 27th according to WW was our 2nd day therefore feel we should have had a room available upon arrival We were not offered any food or refreshments and were unable to purchase as the hotel would only accept charges to a room number which we had not been issued So a very disappointing start to the holiday We were advised by the hotel that if WW had paid for that day we could have had a room immediately this should have been taken into account by WW and included in our tour cost I am still awaiting a satisfactory response from WW on this matter The tour its self was very hectic some very early starts for example 6 00am due to being at the attractions Taj Mahal Tiger reservation for example before the crowds which we appreciated but the travelling distance between hotels could be upto 6 hours meaning we could arrive 7pm then dinner have a one night stay and up for an early morning departure for another coach journey Overall we enjoyed the trip hotels were clean and acceptable although charges for drinks could vary drastically from hotel to hotel which again as a large tour operator WW should negotiate standard prices ie bottle of King Fisher with your meal could vary from 350 rupees up to 500 local shop 110 rupees we had some wonderful experiences and met like mind fellow travellers but found to be very exhausting tour and at times felt that WW had put profit before clients comfort
