Model Mayhem - useful directory but slow and moderator roulette
Photographer here. Joined Model Mayhem after Hunter Talent noted it's been the go-to portfolio directory since 2005 with hundreds of thousands of members, now owned by Internet Brands - but it's Gumtree-style, not an agency, so you vet everyone yourself. Trustpilot sits at 2.4/60 for a reason: pages load 10-20 seconds, 18+ filter resets on login, and mods flag bikini shots as mature while leaving white-model near-nudes. I did book two shoots via casting calls, which is why it's 2 stars not 1, but the VIP $100/year barely helps communication and support never addresses 401 errors. Use Purpleport instead if you're new.
