Not good service

We rang up on the 9december hoping to get a repair before we went on holiday on the 12 December waited on the phone over 50 minutes told probably couldn t do it before our holiday the chap said he would get the book department to ring to arrange appointment that was the last we heard of it until out of the blue alpha rang up on the 5 January and sent repair man next day Nothing wrong with the repair work but I don t call this a proper service so we left our boiler turned off while away as too worried to leave in when we returned the house was absolutely freezing and took 2 days and nights to warm up

The engineer Rob was very efficient and helpful He has been to us several times before Trying to get an appointment was ridiculously difficult In a queue of people on phone for 55 minutes Sent an email recently as we had not received service on boiler since Jan 21 and hot water flow was very weak New pipe needed Hopefully will be fitted soon

Left with a Problem

The engineer was really pleasant and identified a small weeping leak on the heating return for which we were grateful and since then we ve contacted someone to help fix that Later that day though although the heating is turned off on the programmer the heating came on and as a result the house is too warm We had to contact the building company we use to look into what s happened So until they arrive we ll be in an over heated house Fortunately it does switch itself off at certain points but it s disappointing that we ve had to deal with this

Arrive on appointment day as arranged However would have been nice to have had a call re estimated time say half hour before rather than having to block out our entire day due to no time slot being provided

Poor communication from the Customer Service Team

I would give five stars to the boiler engineer who came today to service my boiler professional and friendly I was really happy with the job My three star rating relates to the fact that it took me five weeks and numerous phone calls to the call centre to get a date for my service At no point did anyone call me to explain the delay Communication is very poor I don t mind waiting for the service as the boiler is absolutely fine but I do mind my request just disappearing into a black hole It s not difficult to keep the customer in the loop is it

The actual service was fine so we ve no complaints about that but our annual service was initially carried out in February and now it was the 1st August Also we had to email to ask when the service was going to take place in order to be given a date

Lack of contact and updates from Alpha

Lack of contact and updates from Alpha after initial visit by engineer when parts were not available so completely in dark Only information received was after intervention by our installer Took two weeks before faults rectified however boiler seems to be working again You need to keep customers informed when problems arise especially in winter Engineer stated now there is no need for service in March 23 and warranty is ok

Overall experience

Engineer who came to service boiler was polite but was chatting on phone about his holiday which didn t strike me as professional Previous appointment cancelled with not enough notice so I had already booked unpaid holiday day which I couldn t change Had nothing but problems with this boiler Generally engineers have been polite and courteous

A whole morning wasted

The service was carried out with courtesy I was given a whole day for the appointment and the engineer rang 5 minutes before arrival at about 1 pm Earlier in the day I rang the company for an estimate of the arrival time and was told it was a whole day appointment I explained that was difficult for me and I wouldn t use it again It was and I won t use it again

Not a happy customer

An engineer came out to service my boiler He discovered a leak and said he would come back the following week to fix it He didn t arrive I had to chase up the repair The person who answered the phone was great and said he would call him and get him to ring me back about the repair that evening He didn t call and I had to call them again Eventually they got a different engineer out who replaced the part and did the service
