Very clinical and apathetic customer service Went to look for a new guitar and was recommended a particular model that was below my price range but thought I d give it a go I initially wanted to try out the fender ultras as this is what I was after but tried a lair Larry Carlton model The sales rep put me near the telephones and plugged me into a boss katana Like seriously - you want me to try a guitar through a budget homogenised digital amp I didn t say that ofc but what is it with guitar shops plugging you into some budget harmogenised piece of digital crap I asked for something low powered that s valve I currently have a blackstar HT5 mk2 I use at home and the response was we can t have you play a valve amp because it s too loud I kindly informed the sales rep that I won t play loud and this amp is only 5 watts with a 1 watt mode I use this at home in a flat for heavens sake Anyway so when I was playing I was asked by another guy to turn the amp down to the point I couldn t really hear anything in terms of the guitars character responsiveness etc When the initial rep came back he asked what I thought so I mentioned compared to my current guitars xotic xsc-2 and satriani JS 1200 the single coils are a little on the hollow side Wanted something jangly but fuller sounding He claimed it was because the amp was so quiet but apologised I couldn t have it any louder as I was sitting near the phones in the store of which was distracting the sales reps Well why put me there then Utterly ridiculous on all counts You lost my service and will take it elsewhere I ll give a 2 star as the initial sales rep at least seemed abit more enthusiastic once I was sitting with the guitar as well as letting me try it Seriously not impressed

Not very helpful after sales I purchased a pedal power supply which should have come with a 3 pin charger block like you get with most phones

Ordered a product before Christmas as a present for someone Order arrived within their stated time On opening the flimsy packaging the products box was damaged it had to have happened before dispatch by the looks of it Also I didn t like something that their description failed to point out Anyhow I was reluctant to wrap it as a gift so I asked for a refund My request was granted but I would either have to pay them 15 for their services or use my own method which was Royal Mail Special 11 Luckily the item wasn t of very high value only 170 otherwise the return cost would have been gigantic Their returns department was quite swift in refunding me Shortly after I decided to contact their customer services and asked for my 11 outlay to be reimbursed distance selling and all that The crass reply i received was that the box was within their realms of acceptable and no refund would be given Andertons may be competitive and quick to deliver but their packing is left wanting their description of products is inadequate and their customer care is woeful A while back I received another product with a damaged box but as it was for myself I never complained I have an Amazon Prime account which will be my first choice in future but decided to support the smaller retailer I might add that quibble free returns are the norm with Prime Andertons don t appear to respond to the negative comments obviously not bothered

I ll try to keep to the point They used to be great but as of late especially since their YouTube channel has grown exponentially they are rather missing the mark I ve ordered many items from them ranging from pedals guitars amps accessories Main points They do not check guitars before shipping No set-up fresh strings or wipe down Pretty pathetic really considering that any music shop you go to including most likely the company in question would do these for you upon purchase so why not before being sent out I ve had two amplifiers develop faults very quickly after delivery one a replacement for the same first one I ve then been told that as it s out of the 14 day return issue window I would be unable to have a refund only a repair Again pretty poor considering it s the same product with a very similar issue A limited edition Walrus Audio pedal that was ordered arrived with a MASSIVE dent in the box and special pouch that went through to the pedal casing and chipped dented the paint There s no way this happened with the courier as it was bubble wrapped to hell Again this shows that it wasn t checked prior to leaving the factory I won t be dealing with them anymore after the repair detailed above is completed I suggest you use Reidy s PMT or Thomann Much better service Please concentrate on customer service and not your YouTube channel

I wouldn t buy from Andertons again To cut a long story short I bought two Fender guitar amps from them and they needed sending back as they were faulty various issues with tubes as well as other components Whilst I appriciate that faults within the amps are not Andertons fault they seemed incapable of fixing the faults I got through three Fender Custom Champs - each time it was a slightly different fault Everytime the amp came back sounding different and not for the better I am suprised that they allowed these to be returned The Fender Princeton was even worse this has to be sent back it took ages to repair and then on returning I received a damaged amp the metal casing was dented and whomever had packed it put the foot switched at the bottom of the box which resulted in dents in the wooden frame It also sounded terrible and the tremolo didn t work as well it lacked intensity What makes all this worse is that I was constantly having to chase Andertons to find our what was happening In the end both amps were returned after a few months of going backwards and forwards I did submit a formal complaint and to be fair Lee the managing director did respond but this doesn t really change my opinion that they are a challenging company to deal with when things go wrong

Would be a one star review but they sorted returns pretty quick I bought an 800 guitar from Andertons and noticed box had been opened Have not usually had this with other shops so bit suspicious as Andertons states on their website that guitars are only checked on request I did not request a check The guitar had marks scuffs on the head stock and a leaguer crack in the neck pocket Requested a replacement and asked them not to open the box They said they would open and check the guitar as they wanted to make sure they didn t send me another guitar with similar problems Guess what When it arrived the box was open Top of the box flapping around and open to the world Crazy as this was a 800 guitar And guess what Despite the checking they insisted on doing the guitar had worse lacquer cracks in the neck pocket on both sides of the neck Will avoid Andertons in the future as this is my second experience of dealing with them and previous experience wasn t great either

This is the second negative experience I have had with the Andertons website since using them The first time I can understand as I ordered an item at a similar time as another customer and another was not in stock This time however I bought an item that appears to have been entered incorrectly on the website I was hoping to have this before Christmas but now this will not be the case

Just bought a bass bassed on the photo in their advert When it arrived it looked nothing like the photo Poplar Burl Whilst I appreciate wood grain can vary it it very different in colour to the advertised bass So I m sending it back and told then within 2 hours of receiving it This would not be a problem apart from they want me to pay for the return of a bass they misrepresented This is the 2nd SNAFU from then recently last time they sent a Used Amp instead of a new one that was rectified after 2 weeks I use to recommend them but no more their standards have slipped terribly

Had real trouble placing an order with this company kept rejecting payment methods even though my bank had authorised them Gave up and went elsewhere but to be fair the staff members I spoke to where friendly and as helpful as they could be

I usually do all my online shopping on amazon because its free next day delivery and returns are hassle free but I thought I d make an effort and support British businesses so I bought this songbook from Andertons which was quite expensive but when it arrived it was damaged I contacted them to ask for a refund or an exchanged and all they offered was either a 5 discount or I would have to pay for the return I don t think it s fair to have me pay for the return if the item is damaged Lesson learned
