Unscrupulous business ethics

Athema have unscrupulous business ethics it is immoral to get customers to agree to a 25 re-stocking charge the point of sale Especially if a product is returned due to Athema being at fault In my case they were adamant I d be charged when I wanted to return a re-furbished printer which would have been at my cost in any case I needed to print documents to distribute on a project I was due to fly to that evening however the printer didn t even come with a power lead let alone any part used toners of which it was advertised having so for just these facts alone I wished to return the printer simply due to annoyance caused meanwhile I utilized a neighbours printer instead Yes I was offered a power lead to be sent onto me but after further emailing the fact that the unit had no toners I became ignored with the last email saying I m not prepared to argue with you over this anymore which is great way to deal with your customers not My original emails were not even properly read I could tell by the replies given To add insult to injury I found other company offering the same item 30-40 cheaper I know there may always be one bad review in a hundred for many businesses however following my experience I m sure that Athema will not batter an eyelid relating to this negative feedback My reply to Athemas comments after first post above -So it now seems that Athema not only have no ethics they have no etiquette either what a load of tosh their reply was I have never mentioned a staff members name throughout but should have to shame their attitude they have towards their customers my mistake for showing respect judging by-their response This staff member mentioned it is liable to write a untrue review online and yet defamation of character doesn t seem to register on their radar having the nerve to openly call me a liar If that doesn t indicate whom your dealing with go ahead and have dealings with this company but you have been warned If I m asked for a receipt for the toners I had to purchase I d of happily supply it Your brass neck arrogance dumbfounds me

I dont trust this company

I dont trust this company Truly Be very very cautious They do not keep their word They are shoddy in the way they communicate and now over a week since I ordered and paid for a refurbished Printer which has not arrived Whether it arrives is a good question It s past their delivery date I am very very worried I have just lost 250 R E S P O N S E T O A T H E M A - 10-02-2024I am responding to Athema s response to my review OK SO when anybody buys something on the internet because of Amazon we have all become used to next day Prime Deliveries If a web site were to advertise along side the product they are sell the following Please be aware that we don not have this printer ready to dispatch as it still has to be refurbished and it is unlikely that this refurbishment will be completed within a week from the purchase date The reason for this is that the printer in question is very difficult to refurbish and we need this time to ensure you get a printer worthy of our Athema Badge of Satisfaction - Thean I doubt anybody with a modicum of sense would shell out 250 for a promise of a delivery a week in the future Furthermore being told that when I specifically emailed Athema to enquire as to when I could expect delivery I was given a three day window 3 days forward of my enquiry However when I had not received the printer on the last due date I emailed them again and said Hey - where is my printer only to be told what I have written above If you want to succeed as a web retailer you have to fulfil the buyers expectations If you tell them lies and dont keep the client informed with delivery dates and courier names etc then you are doomed You might get away with it for a while but long term you are digging yourself a deep deep grave My advice is - sort out you delivery notifications and inform the seller at time of order whats what Dont hide behind lame excuses Be honest If your price is right you will get the business But if you treat buyers like fools then you get all you deserve One Star

Not trustworthy

I ordered a monitor which was advertised as being new but was reduced as it had a damaged box When the monitor arrived the box was fine but I was concerned as it had been closed by brown parcel tape and all of the internal items had clearly been opened I raised my concerns with the owner of the store who tried to argue that the item was indeed new and was not a returned item He claimed that it had just been opened for the purposes of testing as the box was damaged This can t be true however as the monitor s info screen shows that it has 116 hours of use and the box actually contains the original delivery note with the customers name address and mobile number on it as well as a returns note for comet I will say that the vendor offered to arrange to collect the item if I wasn t happy with it and I have decided to keep it as the monitor actually appears fine That being said I m annoyed at the product essentially being miss-sold to me and I certainly wouldn t order again for that reason

Horrendous Customer Service

Ordered a printer and had to chase for a delivery update twice Printer finally arrived 3 weeks after the initial order and the reason cited was The Warehouse forgot to dispatch it Utterly useless in terms of Customer Care with all the grace and personality of a wet fish My request for a credit note against the 10 carriage fee was answered with I still have to pay for the carriage so I will not be refunding it The chap I dealt with Darren even had the audacity to blame us for not chasing them more Who was the paying customer in this scenario and who made the error of not sending the goods We deal with 100 s of IT equipment vendors and this has been one of if not the worst experience I have ever had Abhorrent attitude and no desire to have a happy customer base Avoid like the plague

Lost our money paid for goods we never received

The item has never been delivered to us our director staff etc have not received our ordered item and we have enquired with our neighbors Four days after the order FedEx issued a proof of delivery signed by a name unknown to us We asked Darren to investigate but were very disappointed that he was not helpful not interested and would take no action He responds the item was delivered to the director quoting his name but the Proof of Delivery states a different unknown name We have lost our money and would never trust this company again Darren should accept that it is the sender s responsibility to get the item delivered to the customer His tough luck attitude is of very poor customer service One would think that to protect one s business reputation one would not behave this way for a quite a low value order And I would not waste time being dishonest about not receiving a low cost item but I have taken the time as Darren s behaviour is unjust

SCAMMER

SCAMMERI bought a laptop as new but I found that it has been refurbished After two days I have a Virus and the touchpad didn t work at all I have checked the Device manager for mice system but there was no any mice system to fix the touchpad problem After I sent back to them and waiting for a while I have been informed a false information as I required the Technical support engineer report they cut the lines off with so rude behaviour Therefore I would not recommend them to anyone else

Swift delivery and a good price but

Swift delivery and a good price but zero technical support Edit in response A disingenuous and unkind answer from Athema I described the simple problem precisely and was told frankly that they did not know the answer and I would have to talk to the Japanese manufacturer of the product that they sell In fact I was able to solve the problem through RS Components who have a wide variety of cables and adaptors with clear technical descriptions

Beware

Beware - purchase didn t exist on their website Seems this is a common practice of theirs Still awaiting a refund Really poor customer service and business ethics I have the right to change my mind if goods are not as described You should not advertise goods n stock if you don t have them in stock - another reviewer complained of this practice recently too I have received no refund for the 641 94 that you took from my account on 17 October I am still awaiting a credit to my account

08-04-19 ordered a HP Sprocket Photo Printer for 86 34 inc P P Item was advertised as new but after completeing purchase I received an email reporting that they had just realised that the item is in fact a ex demo model and asking if I want to proceed Unprepared to pay near premium price for a demo model I declined and asked for a full refund I dont accept that they just discovered the demo status it is more likley that they are dishonestly advertising a used item as new and hoping that customers will roll over and accept the deceit Response to sellers comments I have justed purchased a new sprocket for 89 00 so not sure where you get your figures from Even on HP website you can buy one of these for 119 00 At the end of the day you advertised an ex demo unit as a brand new item That is plain wrong regardless of intent

Poor systems lost them a sale

Their systems and lack of careful checking failed them I ordered a refurbished colour printer from Athena online After a day I enquired re likely delivery date only to be told they did not have this printer in stock despite accepting the order and payment Offered a mono one instead for same cost mono probably another error on their part so I looked elsewhere Staff sounded very helpful
