I paid for extra insurance when hiring

I paid for extra insurance when hiring through AUTO EUROPE When I picked up the car in Tenerife I was asked to pay another 55 euros for insurance or put down a 800 deposit I phoned Auto Europe and they said yes this is correct If I had a claim I had to get a crime scene number from the police photos and the car hire company bill then send it in for them to reimburse me The car company gobycar Tenerife said if I had gone directly through then there would be no deposit no extra insurance and it would be cheaper So always go direct to the company and cut out the middle man

Have failed to give me a refund for a car that I did not collect due to Enterprise not having it on my arrival Not Auto Europe s fault but they have taken my money and have not refunded months after it was taken Avoid and book direct with Hire companies if you want to have any comeback what so ever

Took payment but then cancelled booking Went to print voucher for my car booking today but found it was cancelled because I never made a payment despite the fact it is shown as paid on my credit card statement Phoned their help line who can t help at all until Monday unless I want to make a new booking for another date of course Have submitted a fraud claim through my credit card company

AVOID Booked via Auto Europe thinking we were fully covered but were told at the local car rental office Noleggiare that Auto Europe coverage wasn t valid Had to pay double the amount again on the spot to get a rental car but believed we would be able to claim back the very high and unexpected cost but after weeks of phone calls and emails to customer service Auto Europe refused to reimburse us It was very misleading and ultimately not worth it and hugely regret not booking with a reputable car rental company directly Using Auto Europe turned out to be a very expensive mistake and a terrible experience that affected our holiday and created hassle for weeks afterwards

They booked the car for the exact time the office closes Charged 60 for turning up late Voucher said call us if your flight is delayed and we will do our best to work things out UK office closed despite calling during office hours stated on voucher Called the Italian airport office twice direct left on hold for over 10 minutes on a foreign number 1 a minute complaint emails unanswered for weeks eventually refused refund

Car not available when went to collect incurred extra cost which Auto Europe said they would refund still not had a reply to at least 5 emails appalling customer service

What hire car

Our flight from Sharm el-Sheikh on the 23rd November was cancelled we messaged both AutoEurope and Europcar and explained our flight had been cancelled We arrived 12 hours late at Europcars desk at 22 40 on the 24th November and explained that we had both messaged AutoEurope and Europcar to be told as we were 4 hours late our car a Focus had been hired by someone else but we could have a Golf auto for an extra 40 a day 8 days 40 320 We got on to RHINO CARS website while standing at Europcar desk and booked a SUV from Alamo for 7 days for 160 The gentleman at Europcar was rude and was laughing at us for being late and had no interest in helping us in any shape or form When we called AutoEurope we were told as we didn t cancel the booking 48 hours before pick up time we had lost all 151 00 paid in advance to them

worst rental experience ever

Rented a car through Autoeurope for Malaga Spain took out Auto europes full insurance coverHad a puncture hole too big for the repair kit had to call the breakdown was charged a total of 741 euros called autoeurope told to call Lloyds insurance directly no one responded for more than 2 weeks I just tried to call autoeurope customer services again - and they are only open on weekdays until 1 pm really are you seeing a pattern in the comments

Goldcar charged us 200 in extra insurance unless we paid we would not get the car the contract was made with you not them complete rip off
