My wife and I have been SCAMMED whilst collecting a car in Fuerteventura airport 18 12 2023 credit card scam You try use your card to put the refundable excess on it and then they decline your card Meaning that you ONLY have one other option to collect the car which is to BUY the extra insurance and pay with another card or cash etc 149 50 ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUSBE VERY VERY AWARE It makes sense why it took so long in the queue to collect the car lots of people struggling to collect pre-paid cars If you want extra confidence in what I am writing is true Please visit wikivoyage org the travel advice website which clearly states that the scam is commonplace with most of the rental companies that AutoEurope work with

Terrible experience After queuing at the Enterprise desk for 20 minutes we were told that no car in the category we had booked was available compact automatic They apparently never have cars in that category at this location even though we were able to book one We were offered a stick shift instead which refused Then another wait only to be told that an automatic might be available in an hour s time Not willing to wait or take the risk we cancelled our booking We will ask for a full refund from Auto Europe The whole experience took over an hour we then had to take the airport bus and a taxi to our destination arriving around 2 5 hours late overall plus the hassle and of course we won t have a car for the rest of our holidays unless we rent it elsewhere Oh and at no point did Enterprise staff offer any form of apology or any type of compensation eg and upgrade Abysmal customer service

The worst experience I ve ever had with a car rental company I paid for the rental of a car online via Skyscanner on 18 12 2023 for a car that I was going to pick up on 22 12 2023 from the airport in Cluj Romania Although I paid in full and I received the confirmation voucher at the moment of landing in Cluj I received an email from Auto Europe in which I was informed that the reservation was cancelled Shame on Auto Europe I will definitely never use their services again

Do not touch these guys Seems like a bargain but if it goes wrong they are useless We hired last week from Valencia They obviously have no control over the people they use so in our case that meant we were left stranded at the airport with a long drive ahead of us and now out of pocket On talking to the one very uninterested staff member I have had noting back at all No call no money no apology It looks like three companies were involved in the lack of car hire and non could get it right for a 9pm pick-up

I will be cancelling this hire as I do not have a credit card and the 2600-plus Euro s deposit required for a 38 hire is ludicrous business practice Just been asked for further information and I have supplied Auto UK with the Voucher Number for my order In addition their Reservation Support team confirmed Dear xxxxxxxll Credit Card Block Info EUR 2 675 00 will be blocked on the client s credit card at time of pick upCredit Cards Accepted Locally Visa American Express Diners Mastercard Must be in the primary driver s name Cash Rentals Not allowed With these in mind you can either 1- change the main driver to someone who does have a credit card under their name and also compels with the other documents that are mandatory to pick up the car and then add you as an extra driver Additional Driver Fee Each additional driver is EUR 10 00 per day VAT included paid locally 2- cancel the reservation and try finding a supplier that allows debit cards when picking up the car I have now secured a rental with Europacar who do not require this protocol and were far easier to deal with

Hired a car from LAX After a lengthy wait we were told there were no cars available and wouldn t be for 6-8hrs minimum Dreadful service

I hired a car through autoeurope They charged and when I collected the car Bluu OR Tambo charged me exactly the same amount Autoeurope had charged When I asked Autoeurope why I was double charged I was told it was an insurance charged I never purchased any insurance on that rental

So on the back of last week s car hire from Valencia Or should I say the hire that was never provided I m currently 260 out of pocket I have eventually got a response from these guys and it took some effort It looks like its upto 8 weeks weight for just a response I was told that was based on the volume of complaints thats not surprising I feel like I ve just been robbed and these guy just give the standard response At no point have they asked what actually happened be warned do not use thse guys

Shocking experience Despite booking a Land Rover not least I needed the passenger room luggage space 4x4 and I have one Sadly on arrival at Verona airport off site offices of Noleggiare now realising Auto Europe are merely an agency I was offered a smaller Mercedes SUV and told they don t even stock Land Rover Odd as of today they are still advertised on their site I was offered an alternative if I drove 10 minutes some where when in fact the vehicle on offer was no different to the Merc I called Auto Europe AU for clarity assistance advice I was like ground-hog-day Untimely after a less than helpful telephone calls I was told I kid you not you can go to a different company once you pay a forfeit of 100 No actual customer care support or assistance re dialogue with Noleggaire Really poor service all round All the time Nogeggaire who Auto Europe want us to use blamed AU With failing light a frustrated family burning our holiday time we reluctantly accepted the vehicle Interestingly the person on site could not tell us if the alternative vehicle was 4x4 or how to apply the snow shoes SO we looked it all up on the internet not the best I would personally advise against using either of these companies Even though on first impressions the value for money aspect seems to lure you in You are better off going with more trustworthy and reliable firms And get the vehicle you requested and paid for

Car hire was provided by Green Motion Dreadful experience from the time of arriving at the car hire centre until we left The reservation staff member was disingenuous and lacked any kind of professionalism The car class that we booked was unavailable and instead of upgrading to a more superior model as was stated in the Auto Europe reservation he offered three options of a more basic model than paid for After finally managing to find an equivalent size of car we discovered that the car had multiple dents and scrapes all around the vehicle I will never book via Green Motion again
