Hopefully everything will be OK

Booked and then message saying on request No follow up message as promised from Auto Europe whatsoever This is a little annoying - I m travelling in under a week and am not sure if I have a car or not but payment has been taken Hopefully booking secure as recieved an email from budget

Car Hire not in Airport as stated

Deliberately chose car rental option with pick up in the airport and paid extra for this option However upon arrival we had to be transferred a couple of miles to the car rental office Carwiz Rhodes This meant we had to wait for the pick up wait for other people to arrive drive to the office and repeat in reverse on our return AutoEurope are either being deliberately misleading and deliberately dishonest UPDATE the agent had not changed their office location It was a long established site and the only site they had had Your standard response just doesn t cut it

Quite simply given an old banger

Quite simply given an old banger rather than a car that we had booked which was originally booked as a VW Up I realise that changes can happen - but we ended up with an old Fiat Panda that had dents in most panels body work was generally atrocious and the gearbox was going had over 90k miles on it

We had an issue with our car rental

We had an issue with our car rental we were promised a refund of Taxi fare plus erroneous charge when vehicle changed due to car being unroadworthy We have sent receipts etc to the Manager in Palma airport who promised the refund in Sept 22 To date no reply or refund have chased Tried to call you today Tues 15 30 and recorded message office closed Please contact and assist Voucher No 5335137 Thanks

CONTINUAL WORRY

Big queue for the shuttle bus Didn t get on the first and were told that another would arrive in a few minutes Waited for another 20 minutes and only managed to get on the minibus becasue a party of 6 didn t want to be split up We will never use a company that isn t based in the airport in the future Not the car we were expecting although we know that the small print says it may vary We had booked an SUV saloon and were given a Jeep Not the level of comfort that we had expected We had a 250km drive to our first hotel After about an hour s driving the engine management light illuminated We rang Klass Wagen to be told that if the car was running ok which it was to just jkeep going The light was on for most of teh 2 weeks we had the car giving us a constant fear of breaking down hundreds of kilometres from Porto

Car hire Milan Malpensa

Initial price quoted for car hire was about 120 for 4 days at the start of October 24 collecting at Milan Malpensa MXP and travelling to Lake Como We also purchased the additional insurances with Auto Europe to make sure we were fully covered On arrival at MXP we had trouble finding the car hire place Centauro despite looking at the instructions sent the website and calling When we finally made it there we were told to pay either a 1400 card hold or 26 per day for insurance Our agreement from Auto Europe did stipulate a 1200 hold and additional local charges but we had already paid for additional insurance so still unclear what I actually paid for Auto Europe paperwork also stated full for full fuel policy The car we collected was 3 4 full and we were initially charged 88 for fuel by Centauro before we could drive away When the vehicle is 3 4 full it s difficult to judge how much to actually put in to ensure it s the same as when we got We ended up returning it with more in it than we started We did get the 88 reimbursed a few weeks later Since my return I have made several attempts to complain about my experience to various email addresses for Auto Europe to no avail In all an unpleasant experience with lots of hidden charges beyond their initial headline price

No help from AutoEurope UK

Booked a car through AutoEurope UK with Hertz in Fez Morocco When I got there they could only provide me with an Automatic not a car with Manual Transmission as ordered So I refused Soon AutoEurope supported my claim for a refund calling it a Fleet Failure but - surprisingly - in the end after many mails notified me they couldn t help me Only telling me that Hertz won t refund my money A mere three hundred dollars little more to lose a client In conclusion AutoEurope can be an intermediary to rent a car pay for it receive commissions for their role but not when a fair solution is asked for no help for us as clients at all Hertz being the bigger company they don t want to lose Although I worked with both of them before I lost my trust in Hertz AutoEurope as well

Never use Dryve

Auto Europe are very good but Dryve are awful I had a horrible experience when picking up the car the airport desk in Vienna were pushing very hard for extra insurance trying to convince me that I didn t have adequate insurance only after phoning the Uk I could persuade them I wasn t given proper instructions to the location of the car and the damages were not all shown All in all it took me over an hour to start driving my car 2 1 2 months later I ve received a notification of a speeding ticket which I am not sure of - will check with the Austrian authorities but the really awful thing is that Dryve are taking 99 Euros of my credit card for administration Ie forwarding me the authorities letter by email

Want to charge me an extra 300

Want to charge me an extra 300 to pick up the car one hour later than planned due to an airline flight time change This is a minor change everything else remains the same which is unacceptable

After many years of loyalty I am not sure I will be using Auto Europe again

Auto Europe used to be great and I have been with them for years renting several cars every year Unfortunately car rental firms have been slowly but surely coming with lots of restrictions huge excess numbers no recovery services can t pick up and return in different terminals on the same airport deposit charged as currency so you get 60 less than what you were charged on pick-up etc to force you to buy directly from them and with their insurance Auto Europe s reaction has been based in limiting liabilities 3k excess 300 recovery instead of a better insurance provision So if I rent in Madrid and I breakdown in Valencia 400km away I need to look for a local tow firm and ask them to send the vehicle to Madrid for a maximum of 300 Good luck with that As it often happens the Finance Director and the Lawyers have won with the customer piggy in the middle After many years of loyalty I don t think I will be using Auto Europe again
