I bought a Blombergh Fridge-Freezer

I bought a Blombergh Fridge-Freezer KGM4530 Nice looking f-f fast and good delivery fridge very light with glass shelves however 1 Carters web page said the freezer capacity was 95 litres which was wrong User Manual said it was 68 liters My measurement was under 60 and that was the total free space without draws etc 2 Noticed it was not running cold enough various web sites recommended -18c whilst my one had a minimum temperature of -7c and sometimes above -3c and higher if the door had been opened Had to have an engineer out 1st visit cancelled as part had not turned up to change a circuit board It is now running okay at about -16c 3 Big sticker on the door another with user manual asking customer to ring a certain number to activate guarantee After having to listen to some stupid music this turn out to be an opportunity to take out additional insurance When I said no they did not take any details to activate guarantee Once the above had been sorted out I think it will be a good product but don t suppose it will last the 38 years my old LEC made in England lasted but then nor will I 29 03 2020 I see that carters have now changed the specification on their web page from 95 to 68 liters but their reply here still maintains the capacity of the freezer is 90 liters This is simply wrong I gave my measurements in my letter to Carters which they have not checked and is the maximum possible size of the empty freezer

Still waiting

Been waiting 11 days for my washing machine to be delivered The only contact I have had with Carters was when I emailed them to ask what was going on Very poor service

Horrible costumer service

Horrible costumer service I just gave a ring to the Brighton store to ask for help and advice to buy an Induction Hob and the guy was incredibly rude and unhelpful I also felt like he was annoyed by my foreign accent which made me think that he is an uneducated ignorant racist Just don t bother with these people they ll probably do a bad job anyway with their attitude

Shocking customer service and communication

I placed an order for a fridge freezer in good faith on the evening of 27th October I also paid the carriage charge At no time was there any notifications on their web site of Covid issues relating to orders deliveries I presumed as I had paid extra for carriage they would be using an external carrier The very next morning I received an email telling me they wouldn t be full filling my order because it was too far in these present times I was obviously very disappointed as they also said they would refund me in between 3 to 7 days I first of all emailed to ask if they could refund me quicker seeing as they had over 1800 of my money and there was absolutely no mention of any issues in relation to orders deliveries distance when I placed and paid for my order in good faith I allowed a couple of hours for a response and heard nothing so I telephoned The gent I spoke to understood my annoyance but the lady that dealt with accounts wasn t in until after lunch I asked him to ask her to contact me by return to see if they could refund me quicker for the inconvenience I M STILL WAITING I wouldn t mind but none of this is my fault When I asked the gent I spoke to I raised my concerns and his response was well we used to put postcodes on we exclude but it confused people I m sure people don t get confused by their postcodes But above all else that wasn t what I asked I asked why there was no information on deliveries or orders being fulfilled because of covid There was absolutely nothing How many other people have ordered in good faith and had their money held by them through no fault of their own I m really annoyed be it the large sum of 1800 being held by them or the downright lack of communication A very tinpot attitude to dealing with customers It was far too easy to just say they re not fulfilling my order and then sit on my money

Disaster and shocking in every way and

Disaster and shocking in every way and Carter s and Siemens together is catastrophic I used Carter because I believed they has product knowledge it s not your Currys or John Lewis experience the place is a dump I talked with their sales guy for at least 45 minutes explaining what I was looking for a matching washing machine and tumble dryer I needed a tumble dryer that had a condenser and sensor dryer and a washing machine that could do small loads - nit allot to ask for I informed the sales person that I washed my bath mats towels separately and with the tumble dryer as you know once you do your washing not everything is suitable for tumble drying The sensor on the dryer is at the front of the machine or so I was told by the Siemens engineer and therefore unable to pick up the dampness of a small load and therefore won t sensor dry Siemens and Carter s deny that an engineer said this but in any event if you put a small load in the dryer it will stop after a couple of minutes and won t continue Therefore the sensor doesn t work and I have a machine that won t sensor dry and I was told it had a sensor As for the washing machine it won t spin if you are washing a bath mat or a couple of pairs of jeans on their own and the engineer tells me this is because of the balanced load mechanism yet when I bought the machine Carter s told me it could do small loads such as bath mats etc and like the tumble dryer I was mis-sold both the washing machine and tumble dryer I have spent months taking with Carter s and their owner Richard Carter who has no influence whatsoever with Siemens- they refused to acknowledge the issues and the fact that the information they gave me at the point of purchase was wholly incorrect and I m not sure if this was because they didn t know their stuff or they were deliberately giving me false information to get a sale in excess of 1000 John Lewis or Currys would never have treated me this way but let s be honest they are Big Siemens clients If you want after sales service that is professional and you want a retailer that can take on companies like Siemens who clearly selling rubbish then Carter s is not the place to go Richard Carter s management style is to ignore your calls and emails and try to ware you out - they are a desperate business who now advertise in little village magazines hoping to try people with their family business strap line that people fall for Worst retail experience of my life

Check item in stock before paying

I was delighted when I saw that Carter s had the range cooker that I wanted in stock I paid 1074 then 2 days later I received a text to say that they did not have the cooker in stock They agreed to refund my money which took a week to get back into my account this meant that my money was tied up for a week before I could source a replacement cooker If you are thinking of purchasing an expensive item from Carter s you need to ring them first to ensure that the item is in stock Carter s are still advertising the range cooker that I wanted as still in stock which just proves what sort of service you can expect

Carters Never again a disgracefull service

We purchased a NEW free-standing oven 11 months ago after a few weeks it developed a fault the second time this happened it nearly caught fire we asked for the appliance to be replaced or refunded and were refused by Mr Carter After receiving legal advice and pointing out what our Consumer rights are he said with such arrogance the advice was incorrect This forced us to obtain an independent report the report uncovered that Carters had knowingly installed a gas appliance that had been severely damaged also that the installation was sub-standard and non-compliant with the Gas Safety Regulations Finally after 11 months they have removed the appliance imagine 11 months without an oven Disgraceful Further to Carter s response they seem to forget that our contract was with Carters and not the manufacture It is Carter s warranty with their Supplier that is a repair-only guarantee Ours falls within the Consumer rights Act 2015 Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we were correct to request a replacement or refund because the appliance was faulty which Carters denied us The manufacture never authorised an uplift code due to Good Will I spoke to the manufacture in person the code was issued because they realised we have suffered long enough Even when we did try to accept a repair unaware of our rights getting in contact with the manufacture which was where Carter s directed us was a laborious chore leaving us No oven over Christmas May I remind you it was the engineer from Bloomberg who commented that the appliance had nearly caught fire the same engineer commented that the damage was due to a manufacturing fault Due to COVID we never inspected the appliance when delivered we trusted It was installed by Carter s and the damage must have been known by the installer On three separate occasions an engineer visited and never commented on the installation which possibly suggests they may not be Gas Safe Registered The Safety Chain was left hanging and not installed the appliance was not correctly leveled neither the pipes or fitting were renewed nor did the engineer ask if the property had any additional gas appliances nor did he issue a certificate for the installation Time spent in total 15 minutes These are all mandatory stages of a Gas Safety Engineers duties to ensure installations are safe and compliant We are now only equipped with this information having contacted the HSE and having Currys do a proper installation which took 1hr 15 minutes I think you can see the obvious difference here How you insist on referring to the damage as cosmetic is a concern and another reason why we will never shop with you again This is a Gas appliance and when the damage was noticed by you or the delivery installer he should have firstly flagged it up to us and then refused to install it It just so happens that this cosmetic damage was the reason both cables broke down and one caught fire I realise you will have it repaired and possibly sell on to some other poor unsuspecting customer as New so in case the customer reads these reports I will advise the oven details Bloomberg Freestanding Oven Model Number AGGN642 Serial Number 2010024202

So disappointed

Ordered 3 machines from Carters for our new house The dryer and washing machines came with doors facing opposite directions despite selling me the stacking equipment and the dryer had scrape marks The washing machine then flooded straight after fitting due to a faulty washer causing considerable damage to new cupboards Tried to contact someone senior but without any success In the past the service had always been excellent and I am wondering if there has been a change in ownership or just service attitude

Incompetent installation

Shame that the installation of our new oven from Carters wasn t carried out safely Oven wired dangerously by a supposed competent electrician Had a fight on our hands to be compensated for the 65 installation fee Not impressed and will be steering well clear of this company in future
