Unable to Cancel the subscription
Dont subscribe to this service unless you want to pay for it for the rest of your life The website says you can cancel your subscription at any time This is untrue There is a convoluted process to cancel and after 5 months I have still been unsuccessful The cancellation button on the website just says your cancellation cannot be processed Find another service unless you want the grief UPDATE I was able to get confirmation of cancellation by emailing my request to deactivations email at Findmespot Sorry this site wont let me add an email address Dont waste your time trying to call go straight to email

This company continues to charge fees
Update to my Review 12th April 2023I provided proof to GloalStar that their web site prevents customers from deactivating their account I received an apology and a refund for the charges I contested That has restored my confidence that their service standards have changed Perhaps they have taken action regarding their online operations I would rate their product as a 4 and customer service 3 based on my combinef experience Original Review This company continues to charge fees even after you stop using their tracking service Their website doesn t allow you to deactivate your account and simply responds with a red banner that your request cannot be actioned This is a long standing issue for almost three years I have records backing up my review

AVOID Customer service is a 3rd-party company that THREATENS you with payments Do not use SPOT because their customer service is TERRIBLE and they will continue to attempt to charge you year after year I canceled back in 2017 and now it s Dec 2018 they still are attempting to renew my subscription even though I do not even use the device I threw it out and canceled in the previous year via phone SPOT customer service is APPAULING AVOID They will try to make you jump through hoops and transfer you to different departments to attempt to keep your account open I m filing a dispute with my credit card company

Fraudulent billing and virtually impossible to cancel
Fraudulent billing policy Basic subscription plan started at 100 euros per year billed to a credit card so you re unaware that there s a Direct Debit in place then without your consent auto-renews at 239 euros pa without any communication or notification There is no way to cancel the service plan on their website All contact forms lead to a phone number in Ireland which takes 20 minutes to respond Then the american operator offered me a 60 discounts as an incentive not to cancel I don t trust that they have cancelled my subscription and will be cancelling my credit card just to be sure

Very disonest company once you subscribe good luck cancelling it There s no way to do it via their website you have to call l I ended up having to cancel my credit card Get Garmin inreach better customer experience and better hardware

STAY AWAY from this company Their device Spot GPS does not work most of the time We ve tested it Despite cancelling my subscription over a year ago they did the following 1 Billed my credit card2 Charged an even higher amount3 Never sent any notification4 Never sent any receipt5 Customer service was slow they lied they attempted to gaslight me and finally begrudgingly refunded my money weeks later ONLY after I reported them for FRAUD to my credit card company STAY AWAY THere are better products out there

The concept of a Spot device is great but
The concept of a Spot device is great People know where you are you can send messages and get help if needed There are several choices available in addition to Spot I would strongly recommend InReach From my personal experience there are several reasons 1 Better messaging2 Better pricing packages3 No ambush auto renewal billing4 Better and much more responsive customer service5 Better user experience ease of use set up reliability

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SPOT They knowingly and purposefully engage in dishonest billing practices They employ what is known as a Evergreen Clause and make it very difficult to cancel their subscription services You will be sorry if you do business with these SOBs

FRAUD -- Can t turn off auto-renew billing
FRAUD -- There is no way to turn off the auto-renew via their website I don t know of any company these days who do not give their customers the option to turn off auto billing via the website in profile billing settings They will automatically bill you for another year without notice They will tell you you have to call within your last 30 days of service just to turn off the auto renew They tell you this in the hopes you forget then get billed for another year I ll never use this company again with so many other reliable companies in the market

Borderline fraudulent billing practices
So apparently my Spot tracker service got renewed each year for over 6 years my mistake that I didn t check my credit card bills more thoroughly I am certain that I tried to cancel the service back in 2014 after using it for a very narrowly defined purpose No notification via mail almost impossible to cancel now I will blacklist them with my CC company and suggest to my outdoor shop to at least warn people when selling that product
