Heed the red flags

EDIT They granted a discount - thereby saving both parties the court process and I will find my own carpenter to try to put things right with the frame fingers crossed there Hence I have increased the rating The mattress can t be saved and just couldn t face the fiasco of trying to get it out again I completely regret buying the mattress from here It s all massively overpriced as things stand Very disappointing as the bed frames could be lovely if manufactured properly I really hope their meetings start getting more productive soon so that other customers are avoided the same hassle and disappointment REPLY Couriers merely followed your instructions and can t be blamed Noted that your reply on here does not even attempt to explain dreadful quality or customer service or how things will improve for other customers ORIGINAL I mean let s start with the comedic name of this company I m sure the owners were likely patting themselves on the back down the pub with this one but what it now represents for me is a blatant red flag of the horrors I was yet to face Getting laid Not a chance - not unless you want to end up in a heap on the floor full of splinters Metaphorically laying of an egg Possibly yes due to the worst imaginable quality of products and service There s a time and place for a company owner to be having a laugh and when taking exorbitant amounts of money and at a customer s expense is just not it If your eyes are feeling somewhat glazed over by all the wonderful photographic reviews of beds you may or may not be aware that this company holds competitions with financial rewards for the best photos Enough said there I think Sadly I am unable to upload my own photos to Trustpilot of the horror craftmanship that I have been witnessed to but intend to do so where able with reviews of this company elsewhere Product Quality - I quite honestly don t know how these carpenters workmen sleep at night Or the so-called quality control department LOL or management I ordered a satin white four poster bed and practically every post arrived with grubby black marks on it - was more a case of satin grub The main top side panel had a deep long and dark gouge in it - needless to say immediately visible There were missing fundamental securing bolts None of the joints are secure and the panels don t sit flush the headboard slats are completely wonky confirmed by the logistics team that later arrived to try and fix everything but couldn t due to inherently flawed carpentry and with a light touch of a finger the entire superking wooden four poster frame wobbles The padded headboard was completely the wrong size and a fiasco to get resolved returned The floating shelves were of such bad quality it was a case of laugh cry opening up those boxes Massive grooves and knocks in the visible parts including razor sharp sticky-out-bits painted over with satin white without a care in the world Splinters coming out of the screws underneath that even satin white clearly didn t want to touch I also ordered a mattress over 1k to go onto my wobbly grubby matchstick bed Within one week it had completely lost its shape Delivery was a saga as bending the mattress was apparently prohibited warranty so the delivery guys refused to bring it in Staircase superking no bending disaster Customers need to be made aware of this before purchase not on delivery Service - When will present day companies rub two pennies together and realise that this is actually important Yes products go wrong Like all the time But things can be put right Products have been put right for milleniums Get Laid Beds customer service If you read their public responses to negative reviews online they have been copying and pasting for years We take this very seriously and will have meetings

Mixed feelings

Get Laid Beds supplied and assembled two beds Service varied from the sublime to the ridiculous The quality of the beds and the delivery and assembly experience were 5 star We visited the showroom in advance of ordering and had several queries about information on the website When raising the queries the person showing us around could only go back to a computor and check the website which was where the inconsistent information was in the first place There did not seem any ability or willingness to problem solve and resolve queries effectively Bed dimensions were critical to us and we highligted descrepencies in the metric and imperial comparisons on the web site I had an e mail saying these would be corrected but over two months later they remain misleading We were intersted in purchasing wall fixed headboards but were advised these are not fitted as part of the white glove assembly package So I then asked if we could order these seperately pay the delivery charge and have them in advance so our builder could fit them We were advised this was not possible as the computor could not accept an order for headboards without an order for the beds I sourced headboards elswhere but this is appalling customer service After order and before delivery I raised several queries regarding bed and mattress dimensions and it took several e mail exchanges to get comprehensive and accurate answers Finally claiming VAT relief for exempt items is not highlighted at checkout so you have to pay the VAT and claim it back As it is an exemption VAT should not be charged or taken in the first place Again I was advised this would be changed Get Laid Beds are like a book with a very smart glossy and corporate cover but with too many dog eared pages inside There are improvements to be made UPDATE 07 12 23In response to get Laid Beds GLB clarifications I am not disapointed with the quality of the customer service teams memory only the ability to answer queries accurately and efficiently You chose to provide imperial and metric measurements on your website Exact sizes are not the issue it is the fact that your metric and imperial comparisons are inaccurate and misleading It is a simple matter to display the metric and imperiel sizes accurately It is not confusing it is simply wrong I did not want to order a headboard on its own and it is wrong to say that I did I wanted to order headboards with beds but then pay GLB to deliver the headbords in advance of the beds as you would not fit the headboards GLB refused so I did not order headboards One query I sent was to rerquest the depth of the three mattresses GLB offer for adjustable beds GLB responded with the depth of one mattress If this was difficult to ascertain what I was alluding to then this is a reflection on the customer service team not me All queries submitted were clear The responses were often not clear There should be a facility to claim VAT exemption on the website for qualifying customers There is not Nor is there any information or invitation avilable to claim the exemption rightfully due Contacting customer service ditrectly has been the source of the issues encountered so it is unlikely I will do that GLB rquested order and contact details before posting their reply but did not contact me to discuss the issues encountered only post misleasing responses GLB s response was posted within hours of the original review whereas customer services quote 3-5 days to reply to queries GLB should consider concentrating more on customer service and less on maintaining their Trustpilot rating I have downgraded my rating to two stars

Disappointing quality great customer service

Disappointing quality great customer serviceI have ordered Japanese Storage bed king size white Before ordering I went to the showroom in Leicester- beds looked great was comfy and not creaking when I tested it However I ended up being disappointed with the order After assembly the bed was incredibly creaky and the wood on headboard has been chipped and discoloured After contacting the customer service I was advised to check that the mattress was not an issue it was not- brand new memory foam they could either send me some felt pads or I could try putting some WD40 on the creaking parts- to me suboptimal solution for a brand new handmade bed especially considering the price is higher that with high street retailers Also that would not have solved the issue of cosmetic damage I have returned the bed for full refund in the end based on 14 days refunds policy I would like to think based on the number of positive reviews that my order was a one-off issue- however for the price I found the quality really suboptimal As per the delivery and white glove assembly- I was unable to book white glove as there are specific considerations of how far the car park needs to be from the property read the terms and conditions Although I have found the parking spot within the designated distance I was then told the van was too big which was NOT mentioned in T Cs Something to think about for the company really- when delivering to central London you cannot expect to find a parking spot for a luton van within 100 m from the property During the return they were happy to come collect and disassemble while parking on the street not sure why that was not possible for assembly especially that I signed disclaimer that I would pay any adverse charges etc Based on that experience I would probably give 1 star However I was impressed with customer service throughout- nothing was too much to ask and they were super helpful throughout the process Refund was processed smoothly and without issues

Good bed poor customer service

I received a bed 2 days ago but some of the components were wrong I have so far sent 3 emails and made 5 attempts to resolve the matter over the phone and I still have no idea when I am going to have the parts to assemble my bed The last time I called was at 5 30 and I was greeted with a recorded message saying that their lines were closed and were open 9am to 6pm The only email response I have had from them was to demand a better photo from the one I d already sent them showing how the parts were wrong as if I might be trying to scam them out of additional bed components that I d have no use for The incorrect parts were only subtly different from what they should have been so I did not notice before I started assembling the bed As a result I am stuck with a partially-assembled king size bed taking up the bedroom and we are having to sleep on the floor in another room Update After about 5 days I finally received some replacement parts that allowed me to complete the bed The bed itself seems of reasonable quality and looks good When I finally did get to speak to somebody on the phone they were generally understanding and helpful I think a lot of the issues I had basically boil down to an under-resourced customer service team That said the fact that they can t identify me from this review as indicated by their reply suggests that they have far more issues with components than one might expect In summary the bed seems of good quality but given the amount they cost I would have expected them to invest more in customer service and quality stock control

Poor service They sent the wrong size slats took longer than originally estimated to redeliver and have been unhelpful in returning the original slats

Extremely disappointing quality

Many of the components were damaged A lot of the pre-drilled holes were off by a couple of millimeters thus making them unusable Multiple components had the wrong length The wood is very soft so it gets damaged easily when using force but force is necessary to make the pieces fit The paint job is also of questionable quality missing paint at the edges Drops bubbles of paint a fingerprint from the worker The customer service was happy to send replacement parts but those often aligned worse than the original defect parts presumably because the original parts were manufactured together in a batch By the time I was done I had a half a bed worth of damaged replaced parts I m still in the process of assembling the storage box where 5 out of 8 slats are so bent that they are literally impossible to insert into the intended slot without bursting the rail I do have a working and okay-looking bed now but I had to go through a lot of trouble and drill holes myself Given the price point this quality is unacceptable Maybe you have a better experience if you pay for the assembly I don t know how but maybe the hired workers will have magic hand which can assemble parts which mathematically don t fit to each other The delivery was without issues and the customer service replied quickly Update I decided to return the storage box due to the issues and the customer service was helpful and scheduled the return-delivery with my calendar constraints in mind

Still waiting to receive bed delivery - at least 1 week late

We were given date for bed delivery 12 04 2023 Stayed home the whole day to collect it but no delivery I called customer service on the 13th and they confirmed that the bed is out for delivery and that it should arrive on that day so we again waited but no delivery No tracking for delivery is available and no updates are sent I called again on the 14th and after communicating with the delivery company they claimed that they tried to deliver twice and nobody was in and that they also left a card and a voicemail This was false since I receive no call no voicemail and no card delivery and have CCTV to check Then they said that they made an error and that they attempted delivery to 143 instead of 145 twice but they didn t explain why I have not received a call or voicemail as claimed by the delivery company So we re-arranged for Monday 17 04 and once more no delivery I called them the same day in the evening and they said they would check with delivery company and get back to me Two days later Wednesday 19th I am still waiting for an update Customer service is friendly and answer the phone within minutes but they could be more effective Moreover the delivery company they are using is the worst I have ever experienced

Let down by after sales

I purchased a bed and mattress from Get Laid Beds in September 2022 Specifically the space saver ottoman bed Last month when attempting to raise it to access the storage I found it incredibly heavy and difficult to open I eventually discovered that the hydraulic arm had become detached on one side and the surrounding wood severely damaged I wrote to Get Laid Beds and was informed that it was a design fault that they have since improved upon note - they knew there was a design flaw yet didn t bother contacting me prior to my contact Okay so how do we resolve this They re going to send me an additional support kit Great The auto assigned delivery was not suitable so I rebooked for the next working day and arranged to be home the whole day And guess what no delivery arrived FedEx then rescheduled for the day after though I was not home Fortunately for me the delivery was running so late outside of the delivery window I was offered that it actually arrived late in the evening once I was home from work Convenient for me But very poor accuracy should I have yet again arranged to be home to receive it during the estimated time slot Then we move onto the fixing part So when the customer service team advised they were sending out the additional support kit and a very simple instruction PDF it wasn t made clear that I was then going to have to dismantle the entire bed and rebuild from scratch in order to correct their mistake 2 5 hours later I finally had a functional ottoman bed For a 1200 order I would have at the very least expected compensation for this poor service Great to know the beds come with an 11 year warranty but I have a feeling this incident won t be the last issue I have with my bed

The devil is in the detail Obfuscation abounds

My wife and I decided to order a new solid wooden bed from Get Laid Beds to replace an existing Tempur divan bedbase we opted for a King Size Oxford bed in solid oak with a satin finish We knew this was not going to be cheap around 1500 but went with it There are two bedside cabinets in our bedroom the gap between them being 1595mm so the width of the new bed had to be less than this The dimensions of the Oxford bed frame were given on the website as 5 2 62 or 159cm It did not take long for me to establish that 62 was not 159cm it was 157 48cm or 1575mm I contacted the help line to establish whether the width of the bed would be 62 1575mm or 159cm 62 6 if it was 62 it would fit comfortably if it was 62 6 it would be tight The help desk was unable to tell me which of the two measurements was the correct one and further complicated the issue by stating you could not rely on the accuracy of either of the measurements because the factory worked to - 1cm a fact I could not find mentioned on their website I pondered on this and reasoned that if the bed was 62 1575mm it would fit into the gap if it was 1cm bigger but if the bed was 62 6 1590mm it would not fit into the gap if it was 1cm bigger I put this reasoning to the help desk who again were unable to confirm which measurement was correct and suggested that I pay an extra 110 VAT for a made to measure bed frame Reluctantly I agreed to do this to be sure the bed would fit and specified the bed frame should be 1580mm wide but I began to think this was deliberate obfuscation by Get Laid Beds to sell more made to measure services The bed duly arrived at exactly 1580mm the size specified I was very pleased with the quality of it I assembled the bed a couple of weeks after arrival and all went well until I came to fit the bed slats They were 1510mm wide and when fitted they left an 8mm gap between the side rails which I thought was excessive I reasoned that the bed slats were probably standard slats made for a 62 1575mm bed and had not been cut specially for the 1580mm bedframe I had paid 110 VAT extra for I emailed Get Laid Beds asking them to supply slats cut to 1515 mm to allow a small amount of clearance they replied stating that slats for a 159cm bed were cut as standard to 1520mm so the slats for my custom built 158cm bed were correct at 1510mm and the 4mm gap either side was to allow for the expansion of the timber and to prevent creaking noises Clearly when it suits their purposes they know exactly how wide the standard bed frame is and when there is a chance of extracting 110 VAT from their customer they cannot be certain Just out of interest I compared the imperial and metric measurements of all thirteen bed frames shown on the Get Laid Beds website and found that none of the conversions were correct or even close The average discrepancy of the width conversion was 1 90 and 1 59 on the length measurements in each case the conversion of the imperial measurement to centimetres proved to be less than the stated metric measurement Please treat this company with the utmost caution

Do not recommend the Shoreditch bed

Do not recommend the Shoreditch bed with headboard I have purchased from this company twice first time was in 2020 I needed a bed shorter in length for a box room and noticed they offer a bespoke service I had no issues with the first bed and it was a very sturdy frame In 2021 i redecorated my other small room and again needed a bed shorter in length i went ahead and ordered the Shoreditch bed with headboard From memory it cost me over 400 This bed is actually a real hazard and i am really annoyed that i have only recently discovered this after spending a night on it myself The slats are so narrow the mattress overhangs by a dangerous amount and any movement to either side will result in you falling off and injuring yourself It is such a terrible design and i am shocked they are still selling this range on their site
