I hired a car from Hertz in Bordeaux Airport on the 29th June returning the car on the 10th July I had prepaid 480 prior to pickup I paid 270 for the enhanced insurance plus a 250 hold on my card at the rental location As of today 23rd of July Hertz have charged me another 270 and have not returned the 250 hold This results in me being owed over 500 by Hertz Their customer service is non-existent with an infinite loop of IVR options on their line

DO NOT RENT - absolute scam They will charge your card for hidden fees that are NOT mentioned in any paperwork or receipts provided AND when you ask them about these fees they will literally IGNORE you TERRIBLE customer service and they rob you blind with no explanation So incredibly disappointing and unethical

What a horrible experience got robbed by this company Got a 3 days rental the car came with a warning on dash steering assistance not working and a crackling noise in the front wheel We returned the car in the next morning because we didn t feel safe to travel We got no money returned not even for the remaining 2 days that we didn t use not even for the insurance Call them the employee didn t let me finish my sentences and hang up on me very rude

I rented a car for 8 days prepaid 260 on 15 September online when I arrived at the desk I was asked for another 400 60 for some glass tire coverage then 28 per day also 20 extra as they do not accept debit cards lol I returned the car on Saturday the 22nd and got charged an extra 259 and 60 at 00 00 midnight Without prior notice or call but they would expect you to call and announce if you re arriving a bit later or so Literally bs never going to rent from Thrifty hertz

Disgusting customer service On arrival I was offered the choice of a 2 200 Euro hold on my card or a 26 Euro per day extra insurance which would cover me for everything no excess On my final day I was walking on a beach before heading back to the airport and lost my car hire key Everyone I spoke to on the phone was horrendously rude I was told I was on my own they wouldn t help me I was stranded on a beach in the middle of nowhere alone and they refused to offer me any help to get me to the airport When I eventually got there at great expense I was told by the Hertz representative on the desk at Dublin airport that no one cares Multiple times I ve now been charged on my card with no email or explanation as to what it s for and am quite frankly horrified by the lack of customer service from this company Would give zero stars if I could Disgusting

A Canadian friend rented a 7 seater which turned out to be a Dacia Jogger an extremely small 7 seater with 77 000km on the clock The clutch went on it in Listowel and they were stranded until Hertz turned up next day at 2pm with a replacement car He was horrified to get charged E1 200 for the clutch repair AND E150 for a call out Herts are correct when they call clutch failure gross negligence it is but on their part not their customers AFETR A WEEK HERTZ REPLIED SEND AN EMAIL TO Great help

I would give 0 stars if I could Terrible service - check your credit card statements when you get home I have relatives in Ireland so frequently fly to Shannon and hire a car Every time I m charged additional fees with no explanation despite returning filled with petrol and on time Hertz then take weeks to come back with to explain Completely unethical

Price I paid was 50 more expensive than the price I paid van was a lot smaller than what I was led to believe I booked and had to leave a large deposit that I want told about in advance I will not be using hertz again and would recommend anyone to shop around and read the fine print

Rented a car from Cork for a week Pick up and service at the desk was excellent but my horror began after drop off Because of 6am flight keys were left in drop off box and no handover to am actual person was done Car was left in pristine condition had even taken it for a wash Imagine my surprise when I got a damages report complete with pictures taken from some place I did not even recognise I m soo disappointed in you Hertz because I never in my wildest dreams thought you could stoop soo low But having seen the number of of 1 reviews on here I m now not surprised

Returned the car with full tank but got charged 59 euro for refuelling Also they didn t trust that i had insurrence om my mastercard platinum which is common knowledge and therefore charged me 44 euro for basic insurrence Last time i rent a car at Hertz in Ireland Frauds I have contacted them but don t expect to be refunded because they cheated me on purpose
