Straight trash AVOID AAC

I happened to be sharing a file that was creating some much needed awareness of a certain monster that s being protected by social media and this monster reported the file Mega did no due dilligence no vetting of the information and this monster also was not a user on the platform I was So Mega jumped to conclusions and ran with it terminating my account There s always another side to the story and when you react on assumptions instead of taking the proper time to investigate you will always get into trouble I hope this one star review serves as a brutal lesson of what not to do again Mega owed me more of the respect by properly checking things out more than they owed this monster anything It was also information that could have saved somebody s life I strongly urge folks to avoid this organization at all costs

Listed as an Alternative to One-Drive --- But not even Close in Reality

What they don t tell you beforehand is that in the case of Word docx and Excel xlsx files there is no viewing online and should you wish to preview view the most popular video format of MP4 the only way possible is if you are using Chrome -- all other browsers are a No-No Their support even allowing for it being the first day of a Trial was pretty abysmal taking almost a week in which to tell me none of this was possible

Horrible fr movies

Definetely one of the worst options for saving and watching movies online If you want to skip a bit ahead the movies always take forever to load Google Drive and One Drive are much better options

If I could give 0 stars I would Been using Mega since 2014 Never had an issue even if I only logged in say once a year or once every 2-3 years Everything was always still there Well they mustve changed their policy but without notifying because to my surprise when I logged in after 2 years of inactivity because I was looking for a file all my files were deleted When you email their customer support their reply is that you re supposed to log in every 3 months to keep the account active 1 I never got a notification about this sudden change in terms of use 2 they claim they sent several emails to warn me about this which is complete and utter bull t I check my email daily and I also check the spamfolder regularly and guess what never received any emails My last email from Mega dates from 2019 so yeah Conclusion I ve lost all my data and files all my memories Don t use this website google drive is way more reliable

Warning don t use not worth the effort

Before it went wrong I liked it It worked well easy to get extra storage by adding their apps and contact details etc Then I got TRUMPED My data was taken down for aledged illegal activity on other platforms Guess what despite contact details there was no contact Golden ticket for me at least I hadn t swapped over to them and paid for a backup service At least I still have my data and my money And no not into other platforms let alone illegal or dodgy Response - yes I got a response but it took three emails to get an apology - Reason given comprised email involved in data leaks I suspect a sizeable chunk are there all my accounts have different passwords my warning still stands CONCLUSION - despite promises the account 3days later still not available Time to go Google One for a couple of quid

Storage is great but customer service is lacking allotment is awesome for

The storage allotment is awesome for the free plan and it s user friendly to upload and download I give that part of the service 5 stars But the customer service is sorely lacking As a free account user I must wait in line for help Each response from a different rep gives a different response so it s try try try again to resolve the issue Plus they write in a condescending tone as if the customer brought about the error themselves

0 Stars Account closed without explanation

Nuked and closed my account for supposed ToS violations despite not being the case No ability to appeal or retrieve my files before the account was closed To me it looks like the upcoming ToS changes on 25th November would have caused violations but in this case I feel Mega should have provided adequate time to retrieve my files and comply before issuing any enforcement action on my account Let it be a lesson to anyone considering using Mega as a cloud backup for their personal files They can and will suspend and delete your files based on ToS not yet in effect Years of work gone Mega is not the friend of Data preservationists UPDATE Despite the reply from Mega NZThey did not respond to my emails

That s the most awful app I ve ever used For 2 days I could not download a file and a couple of other people tried as well Stay away from them

Removed file claiming copyright materialIts not like your personal harddisk guys these guys open your files and if they find its copyright they will immeditely remove it not even an option to download locally is given If it violate their tos they should inform us it will be removed in atleast aftet 2 hoursIf u want to store data dont choose mega choose terrabox i am happy with them
