I was looking at changing my tariff for now

I was looking at changing my tariff for one only offered to existing customers and I looked on the 28th December When I looked 2 days later that tariff wasn t available and only a 12 month fixed one with exit charges Whilst the daily standing charge didn t change the rate per kWh had increased Is someone able to contact me on 07799106081

Long term customer let down by poor service

Having been a loyal customer of Octopus for many years even paying into their charity fund to help those living in fuel poverty lately I ve been disappointed with the service offered First we were charged an early exit fee when we got an EV as we were advised to use Intelligent Octopus but didn t realise this would change the entire tariff its really not clear but they seem to assume you ll know exactly how it all works so we were unexpectedly charged a 75 exit fee No real understanding about the issue from customer services and just the same stock answers on email to my complaints Coupled with that our gas smart meter had stopped working but no-one informed us even though no meter readings had been sent for around 5 months I d always advocated for Octopus to anyone that would listen but they seem to be going the same way as the other utility companies now profits before people It s a real shame

Energy prices are scandalous ATM I am moving to a fixed price as I cannot afford to pay even higher sky rocketing prices I work in the care industry and life is difficult enough as it is All energy companies are ripping off consumers because we all need gas and electricity and the energy suppliers are using this to their full advantage Along with the governments full support I am paying at least double what I paid 2 years ago and I am still in debt This is a national travesty tbh that needs to change immediately

Been with octopus since August they

Been with octopus since August they have increased my monthly standing order over 100 without reasonable explanation From 89 to 202 when I spoke to them they have dropped payments to 190 and pennies not impressed with them

Poor Customer Service

Have been with Octopus for several years but switched ten days ago My account was in credit but trying to get Octopus to refund the money has been incredibly difficult - still not received I explained I needed the money to pay my new supplier but the money has still not been refunded I understand it s the busy holiday season but when you re owed over 500 it is very poor customer service

Wondering why they are considered so fabulous

I just joined and initially told the first direct debit would be taken on 3rd Jan Then I received an email saying my next direct debit amount would be taken in Oct 2024 I sent a message today saying that the direct debit had not been taken and was told quite bluntly the DD had failed and I could do a manual payment if I wanted The DD has been set up on my account for at least 2 weeks and there is enough money to cover it Some advice to Octopus - do not lie to the customer and if you are in the wrong do not be rude A simple I am sorry we failed this time would have done the trick I am not sure where they get this fantastic reputation for customer service from Maybe they are comparing themselves to other energy companies who can be very very appalling

Same as all the rest

When I first joined Octopus 2 and a half years ago my review would have been 5 stars But now they have grown by taking over other energy companies they are just the same as all the rest Email response times to anything other than the most basic of enquires are getting worse Some of the information they have given me in response to enquires has been wrong and required follow ups which are taking longer to come When I first joined they were much better at customer service Looks like the company has grown too big and they have not recruited enough staff to cope If Octopus offer you the best energy price then go for them But I have left Octopus now after E-On offered me a better deal Despite leaving several weeks ago there is no sign of my final bill and not had any communication regarding paying back the credit on my account A once great challenger energy company has become just another energy company Disappointing

There accounting a billing system is very confusing make sure you check everything

I got an email saying they were adding 300 back to my account I checked with them and was informed it must be correct Obviously from this response I presumed they hadn t checked my account Then the next day they applied duplicate entries from the previous year but this time with no notification After all this debit and credit about 20 entries I was 1p worse off I emailed again advising that their billing accounts system was very confusing and strange The reason for the review is that they hadn t the decency to even respond with a company s usual platitudes I did think about switching but they are all much the same Octopus is a typical energy gas supplier no better or worse than any other just out to make money

Good only in parts

This company swear by smart meters yet in the three years I ve been a customer my gas meter hasn t given readings Blaming it on technology when you are supposed to be the leader just doesn t cut it
