I heard many negative reviews and decided to give the benefit of the doubt I was paying more for pet insurance than I was for myself I went to the vet and payed almost 900 and only got 160 back Not worth it I already pay a lot as it is

"Jury is out on Pets Best"

Jury is out on Pets Best We met the deductible but most of the expenses we ve incurred since then have been disallowed For example the puppy got an intestinal parasite but the medication to treat it wasn t covered This policy has not been helpful in mitigating the expenses associated with minor illnesses Can t speak to major incidents we ve been fortunate so far

"Very Slow Claim Processing"

The time that it takes to be reimbursed is unacceptable and inappropriate It has been 30 days and I still have not received the payments I am owed When you look online for status it only says processing After 2 weeks you receive an email apologizing for the delay but with no mention of when you will get paid It does not seem right that they are unable to process basic claims in a reasonable amount of time Very disappointing

"Not impressed"

The time they took to reimburse is too long And the premium increase of most 20 for the second year is unexpected The coverage isn t even that inclusive that they oftenly calculate each item individually and at the end of day it s not 80 90 100 coverage at all

I called to discuss a 40 00 claim for flea and tick treatment I pay the top notch insurance including best benefit plan and best wellness separately to cover this things Apparently they refuse to pay 40 dollars which the plan covers 65 Because my veterinarian advice me that if I did not wanted chewing flea treatment to order online topical Frontline So disappointed when I told the agent how do I cancel my policy she told me you can cancel at anytime as if they do not care to loose a loyal customer So as of right now I am contemplating canceling my dog s policy I have been so happy with PetsBest up untilnow

"Slow claims processing"

The notably poor timing for claims processing approvals and payment - particularly for very large claims - is a frustrating feature that does not look to improve any time soon We ve been insured for years and most of that time has seen higher than normal claims volumes as the rationale for Pets Best s delays We will seek coverage from another insurer for our future pets

"Easy to file Long wait"

Filing the claim was easy I had requested the medical records and bills from the veterinarian so I was able to upload them at the same time as I filed the claim However it still took 34 days for them to process the claim which was a basic wellness visit I would understand a delay if the insurance carrier had to get the bills and records and have to wait to receive them However it appears they had everything to process the claim on day 1 So unsure of why it took so long but anything beyond 2 weeks doesn t appear reasonable if there wasn t a coverage concern or an issue with having the required paperwork

"Not sure worth it"

In my experience this company groups together unrelated incidents illnesses such as skin itchiness with negative ringworm test ringworm which developed later to avoid paying for significant vet bills Also it seems like the deductible is high before they start paying anything Most normal vet care won t meet the deductible so this insurance is useless except in major calamities They also are very strict about not covering pre-existing conditions I am frustrated and worry it s a waste of my money

"Lengthy claims multiple appeals Not worth it"

Had then for the first 6 months of having a puppy Took 3 months to get decisions on claims Another 3 months to appeal and I had to appeal every one They considered an attack at dog park a pre-existing conditions because bacteria was present in his wound and our dog had itchy skin when we adopted him Everyone I spoke to on the phone was lovely thus the 2 stars But the actual insurance and claims appeals process wasn t worth it Switched to a different provider

"It took multiple attempts for the "

It took multiple attempts for the process to go through and when it did only 1 of the 2 bills were addressed I found the communications to be very poor and unclear When I investigated why it was taking so long I found out that I was supposed to call both the emergency vet and my local vet to send over the required paperwork This initially led to the claim being denied which just delayed everything Pets best came highly recommended to me and I was thoroughly disappointed with the experience Sorry for this but I am trying to be honest here Sincerely L
