Hard to swallow when you have a three
Hard to swallow when you have a three night package booked and the staff at PortMeirian have been in constant touch to pre book meals etc that the away break has been cancelled because England are going into lock down PortMeirian was in Wales the last time I went there Not happy is the most polite way to express how I feel at the moment

Shame
I would have rated this place higher if it wasn t for the dismissive attitude of the manager I complained to Hotel and staff great Staff at the gift shop and prisoner souvenir shop look up and smile at customers Staff at cafe just by gift shop - please don t swear When I complained via email I was given the brush off- apparently they don t have complaints about the attitude of some staff Look at Tripadvisor

NO DOGS WHY NOT
Spent hours driving there only to be refused entry as we had our Welsh Border Collie with us Its all outdoors for goodness sake and to have us given the excuse that dogs can leave mess j find completely insulting Virtually every pub or cafe in the area welcome dogs inside but no Portmeirion is obviously above this I don t expect the type of visitor there would be in the habit of not cleaning up after the family pooch but even if they didn t at 17 per head tolook round they could employ someone to keep an eye out Well sod you won t be going there

This place is nothing short of discriminatory I drove HOURS to get here With my two dogs one of which is my service dog only to be turned away being told no dogs in the entire village It s all outdoor I needed to stop and get refreshments before leaving again and I am disabled and needed to use toilet facilities but was also refused Disgraceful place

Prisoner fix ticked off
I have waited years to come and it did not disappoint Not only was it only 17 each to get in I thought this was very cheap you can divulge yourself in the prisoner then go for a lovely tree top walk Only complaint do not expect to get a cup of tea from the hotel bar if you are not a resident they won t serve you There are other coffee bars and a restaurant but it would have been nice as outside the bar it overlooks the water Most of the tables were taken up by non residents just sitting there dying of thirst Other than that would recommend this any day

Exceptional service
Exceptional service Visited the village for afternoon tea on 3rd of January The staff at the hotel couldn t have been more helpful in accommodating my dietary requirements and then on leaving offered us a lift to the exit as the weather was appalling Shout out to Charlotte and Chelsea at the hotel who looked after us so well and Sean our driver and Amanda at the exit Others too whom we didn t get to see but all ran like a well oiled machine Thanks so very much - will return

Admission is very good value for money
Admission is very good value for money because as well as the immortailised village itself there are extensive forest trails with ponds sculptures and walks leading to the sandy bay to explore The guy at the admissions desk was very helpful as was the lady in the prisoner gift shop Excellent Food in the Italian restaraunt on site quick service there despite the numbers Those who don t know The Prisoner might not find it so intriguing but the floral displays were magnificent

Portmeirion is a stunning and quirky little village no matter the weather
Portmeirion is a beautiful little village that has had a special place in my heart since a visit with my parents when I was young Loved it so much that we decided to get married there in August it was a small intimate wedding and we opted for afternoon tea as well can t fault anything the staff were super friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for Delyth who deals with wedding bookings etc Now we have even more of an excuse to visit every year for our anniversary I see many complaints about not being dog friendly which is a shame as I am a fellow dog owner however I can totally get why it is a no dog zone and it s still well worth a visit without our four legged buddy
