When I decided to write my own

When I decided to write my own autobiography I got in touch with Story Terrace They put me in touch with my chosen writer Barbara Fox and we co-wrote the whole book in three months It s been a wonderful experience and I would certainly recommend it to anyone who would like to write their own memoirs

This was easier than I thought it would

This was easier than I thought it would be As a person who struggles to talk about oneself I found myself bringing up memories that had started to fade and very much enjoyed the experience My children enjoyed reading the book and it s nice to know that as I get older and more forgetful I can read about some of my life s exploits Thank you

We had a very enjoyable experience From start to finish our editor Laura helped us and answered all our questions We realised there was an issue post-printing but they helped resolve it quickly and efficiently The book has been greatly enjoyed by the whole family

Wake up

Ever thought about employing a ghost writer If you have a story and most people do go to storyterrace comIt may be the only chance you get to pass on your biography to the next generation Or perhaps you have a novel in mind Story Terrace with their experience and extremely helpful staff will craft a publication for you at minimum cost They specialise in biographies Something to hand down to your kids but will be a valuable starting point for your first novel I m glad I found them Ron Friend Aged 83

The Boy From the Toon

My son Jamie had been trying to get me to put my life story to print for a long time but I was always unsure if I wanted to do that but in the end I said OK and he introduced me to Garth Cartwright who paid me a visit and I was a bit wary of telling a total stranger about my life but Garth was very helpful and set me on the course of getting my history story going Once I started I found it quite enlightening to remind myself about everything I had done and still doing along the way I m 71 now so it went on a bit then a bit more and another bit 0 Very happy with the end result and thanks to Garth and enjoyed our meetings to get it done

Patience and understanding

Following the passing of my mother I attempted to complete her project with story terrance I got in contact with Beverly who was very empathetic to my situation I was then assigned to Marguerite for final edits etc Her patience and empathetic approach provided me with the necessary strength and hope to carry on with my mothers book after her recent passing I never felt rushed to find the words to complete the project or that my emotional state was misunderstood Grateful for Marguerites warmth and support as I navigated through the experience

Writing the family history in a pandemic

What can you do when you can t see or visit your elderly parents or your siblings across the world in the middle of a pandemic You can liaise with Story Terrace to write your parents story from childhood to parenthood encompassing the end of world war 2 the birth of the NHS and the mechanisation of farming and globalisation Story terrace were excellent from start to finish They dealt sympathetically with my parents interviewing them on Zoom to get their stories They then liaised with me to edit them and wrote such a lovely book which will be handed down through our generations I am sure THANK YOU

A journey together

We would like to say thank you to Kym and Alison for putting our story into words - from our first zoom meeting with Kym and Alison we felt at ease and were keen to get our story started Our meeting with Alison helped our memories flood back and now we have the book in our hands Our family are delighted with it and are pleased they can read their family history We would recommend story terrace to anyone thinking of writing their own story In fact several people have said they would be interested We enjoyed the experience so much that we were sad when it was over but we are so thankful to have this lovely keepsake Janette and Norman Hollingdale
